He Became A Monstrous Genius After Obtaining A Time Dilation Artifact-Chapter 50. Potion lesson 1
Chapter 50: Chapter 50. Potion lesson 1
’’Bye honey’’
’’Bye daddy, greet Uncle Kailen for me when you meet him. Tell him I can’t wait to see him’’
’’Alright, will miss you guys’’
’’It’s just a three hour drive to New Alexandria city, you can visit us when you are free’’
Micheal watched the car drive off as the voices of his wife and child grew considerably thinner.
’’So I made it’’ He had passed the entrance exams of the University. The first step had been taken, now he had to strive to the top.
’’To think it would be compulsory to live in the university. Who would have also thought that life in the capital would be so high standard to the point where the only option would be for them to return back to New Alexandria. But it will only be temporal’’ Micheal’s determination stirred. In this world, strength was associated with prestige and wealth. With his Talent level, all he needed was resources and he would be able to have considerable strength to protect his family and give them a life they deserve.
’’Let’s head to the administration center for the official registeration’’

[I cannot believe you did not save her name as lovergirl]
’’It’s not like we are in a relationship or anything you know. Also, why did you tell me to join the research department after passing the assistant instructor’s exams?. Are you trying to matchmake me and Arrie Hall or something?’’
[Do you think I have time for those kind of things?. You ask too many questions?. Just join the research department. If you dare challenge me again, another session of what happened in the bedroom a few days ago will repeat itself]
Kailen sighed, ignoring the time dilation artifact. However he was still wondering why the time dilation artifact wanted him to join the research department of all the departments. Initially he thought the time dilation artifact wanted to find a way to make him and Arrie Hall become very close. However the time dilation artifact had refuted that.
He was no fool. There must be some sort of reason as to why the time dilation artifact wanted him to join the research department.
However, he had just been threatened by the time dilation artifact to not ask any question or else.. He didn’t even want to imagine going through that pain he experienced in the bedroom on that day ever again.
Drinking the apple juice as his hands rested on the railing of the balcony, his gaze lingered on two students in an apartment opposite his own, engaged in a fierce argument.
’’They are at it again’’ Kailen sighed ’’At least they should close their windows’’
’’Why did you cheat on me, and with my best friend at that, you slut!’’
’’I didn’t cheat on you!. Why would you even think that?’’
Kailen sighed, his neighbors had been arguing ever since he returned from the lecture hall after his conversation with Arrie yesterday. Not only did they not close their windows when arguing, their voices were extremely loud as they launched one accusation after another towards the opposite party.
’’This Detective Gimmick’s skill is really something. Not only do I instinctively know that the lady lied when she said she was not cheating on the gentleman with his best friend, I also know that her intentions are good? That is what is confusing. Why would she cheat on her boyfriend with his best friend and the intentions will be good?. Sentient beings are really complex’’
’’I have been sending you lots of student credits all this while, and supporting our feeding, and this is what I get for being good to you? You don’t even trust me, and You call me a slut?’’
’’I don’t give a damn about that! Just why would you cheat on me?’’
’’Interesting, the lady is telling the truth about this one. She has really been sending him student credits, and she has also been supporting their feeding for a while now, her intentions concerning that too has been good. Oh, it all makes sense now. I seem to have connected the dots.
She has been sleeping with her guy’s best friend for student credits to support the guy and also feed both of them. No wonder through the skill, I discerned her intentions for cheating on him to be good.
The absurdity. People do the wrong things with the right motives, and the right things with the wrong motives. In her opinion, her motive was to help her guy.
But now that he has found out she was cheating on him with his best friend, no matter what she says or how much she explains her intentions was to feed them both and support him with student credits, it would not justify her wrong behavior. She still cheated on him’’
’’What are you looking at, weirdo. Mind your business!’’ The duo turned to look at Kailen through their windows.
Kailen chuckled, then shook his head as he mused inwardly ’’ I should be prepping for class. Let’s give these idiots some privacy as they ruin their relationship’’ Kailen left the balcony, leaving the crazy couple arguing in their apartment to themselves.

’’Over here’’ Kailen’s gaze lingered towards the direction of the voice.
’’Arrie Hall’’ Kailen nodded with a slight smile, heading towards her direction. It seemed she had reserved a seat for him.
Kailen had decided to live with a new mindset. He had really ruminated on Arrie’s words and the advise the time dilation artifact had given him yesterday. He wouldn’t let preconceived notions about how he had been treated by people in the past cloud his judgement about people he just met. However, their actions and motivations would determine how he would treat them. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. He would determine how to handle people based on their actions and motivations, whether good or bad.
He would not naively trust people. He had learnt from his past how wicked people could be after all. Rather he would carefully scrutinize people’s actions and their motivations to determine if they are worth his trust before he opens his heart to them. Also if an individual he trusted turned a foe, he would still not naively trust the person. A friend turned a foe will be treated a foe, no matter the motivation for the action.
As the time dilation artifact had said, he was a sentient life form, and he needed to have relationships. He could not be emotionless, decrepit of love, warmth and trust. He was an emotional being after all.
Arrie had not only saved his life, but she had also gone to great lengths to help him mature and reorient his mindset even when he kept doubting her. Although he had only briefly interacted with the lady on a few occasions, she had proven herself of Kailen’s trust.
This was why he had decided to trust Arrie Hall and treat her a friend.
His desire to avenge his parents’ deaths had not changed. His desire to stand at the peak of the universe so that he is not trashed around and bullied helplessly by others like he had been in the past two years had not changed, however his mindset concerning people had been oriented, and that was all because Arrie had gone great lengths to help him understand things in a different light.
Kailen therefore considered Arrie Hall, a friend.
’’I didn’t know he could smile like that’’ Arrie mused inwardly as she noticed Kailen’s smile.
The young man sat by her side ’’Thanks for reserving me a seat errm...’’
’’Call me Arrie’’
Kailen nodded.
’’How was your night?’’ Arrie asked, beaming with a smile.
’’Uneventful, just a couple of neighbors at each other’s throats. Not like we awakeners need much sleep anyway’’ Kailen replied, sighing
’’I suppose... but it looks like you are not happy you couldn’t have any sleep’
Arrie responded
’’Well, sleep is a luxury. Besides I needed to refresh my mind with some sleep, since I had a lot of thinking to do yesterday, thanks to you’’ Kailen chuckled slightly.
’’Oh, I’m sorry if I said more than I should’’ Arrie replied, her tone soft and slightly depressed.
’’Oh no, don’t get me wrong. I meant that thanks to everything you told me yesterday I kind of had to think some things through and reorient my mindset. Sincerely, thank you. Our conversation yesterday really opened my eyes’’ Kailen replied, his tone sincere and warm.
Arrie had never seen this side to him. Even she herself was surprised, and the look in his eyes when he spoke to her, had changed. It was not a distrustful, callous and skeptical one like it was yesterday or the last time they had met in New Alexandria city. He seemed, different, warm to be precise.
’’I can see it has. Besides your demeanor seems enchanting, even warm to be precise. You seem approachable’’ Arrie voiced, flapping her pen around with her right hand.
’’I see, well, other may not think the same’’ He gestured with his head towards a couple of individuals in the class, a maniacally playful grin on his face.
Arrie’s gaze lingered on Hugh Ass, the nephew of the HOD of the potion hall Kailen had trashed around the other day in front of the administration building, then on the lady from the Hayes family Kailen slapped yesterday.
’’Pfttt hahahahhahaah. They are just traumatized from what you did to them . I’m sure beneath that fearful exterior, they will find you equally charming’’ Arrie couldn’t hold in her laughter. Not only that, but her voice was also loud enough for some of the course mates to hear.
Of course, they knew of the two individuals in the lecture hall who had been humiliated by the newbie. They laughed as well to their hearts content. If a single person had laughed, it would have been easier for the victims of the mockery to locate them and punish them. However, half of the students in the lecture hall had joined in on the laughter. Hugh Ass and the lady from the Hayes family could only keep quiet as their cheeks turned red in embarrassment.
The doors of the lecture hall swung open, as a tall female instructor appeared in the lecture hall, causing the commotion to die down.
’’Good morning class. I suppose you are all aware that today we will be learning how to brew a C ranked recovery potion. I hope you all brought the ingredients I told you to gather?’’
