" I overheard something in the class from some whispers, something about some reclusive sects?"

Arrie wiped her mouth with a tissue, then voiced " Right. There are rumors about some reclusive sects in the federation. It is rumored that these reclusive sects are actually established by powerhouses who decide to not get involved in the matters of the Federation. In other words, they are simply not interested in the political matters and various issues of the federation and therefore decide to seclude themselves and establish sects to pass on their knowledge . It is also rumored that at times, these reclusive sects can dispatch their disciples to explore the federation ,mostly to enrich their experience. Geniuses who usually appear from nowhere and demonstrate extraordinary prowess are attributed usually to these rumored reclusive sects, as it’s the only logical way to explain the rise of geniuses not attributed to any of the noble families, prestigious universities or the military. Of course, most deem the existence of these reclusive sects as rumors,as there is no literal proof of their existence. However , others argue strongly that they exist. What do you think Kailen?. Do the reclusive sects exist in your opinion?"

Kailen chuckled " I just learnt about these reclusive sects from you and you are asking me if I think they exist?"

" Well, yes" Arrie nodded.

" Are you trying to probe whether or not I’m from some reclusive sect?"

" Of course not. I know there are things you can’t tell me but it’s fine. Why would I try to use underhanded methods of gaining information from you?. Besides what will I even use that information for anyways?"

Kailen mused inwardly " She’s not lying to me. She has no evil motive too"

"Alright here is my opinion. I think it makes sense that they exist. Surely the rumor came from somewhere right?. Most of the time, there could be some sort of truth in a rumor of this callibre even if it’s not completely true right?"

Arrie nodded " Your words make a lot of sense. Well, I have a question for you?

Which department’s staff do you plan to join as an assistant instructor ?"

Kailen sighs tapping the side of the glass softly" The research department "

" Don’t tell me... My mum was right? ... Do you like me?". Arrie feigned some sort of embarrassment , placing her mouth on her cheeks and widening her eyes.

" This..." Kailen sighed. This lady was just something.

" I want to join because research intrigues me" Kailen couldn’t tell her he wanted to join the research department because the time dilation artifact had told him to do so.

" Really?. Hmm. That was close. I have huge standards after all you know. You are younger than me and all so.." Arrie puffed her chest, assuming some sort of righteous front , feigning a serious demeanor .

Kailen chuckled " What does age have to do with relationships in the first place ? Also, why would I want to go out with you, literally you can be my mother after all"

"You...." Arrie was lost for words. She had not expect Kailen to suddenly become so shameless.

" What?. Do you think you are the only one who can be shameless or something?. Since I’m too young for you, doesn’t it mean you are also too old for me?"

Arrie stared at Kailen as he giggled after seeing the expression on her face. Kailen’s laughter infected her, causing her to also laugh .

The duo’s laughter finally ceased after some time, replaced with a warm, yet tensiously awkward atmosphere.

Kailen had never been in this kind of strange situation before, he had to find a way to dispel this situation.

Arrie was also feeling the same way. Due to her past , she had been involved with lots of men, however it was all a matter of sexual affairs , nothing more nothing less. This was the first time she had felt so warm, yet strange around a gentleman.

" What do I do? " She fidgeted inwardly.

" Can you tell me about the assistant instructor’s exams?"

Arrie sighed with relief. Kailen’s question had dispelled the awkward atmosphere .

Quickly she answered " The exam usually takes place in the deep regions of the Achilles forest . The examinees are handed some sort of device and told to hunt diabolic beasts that are at least at the C rank. The device is imprinted with some sort of technology that converts the kill of diabolic beasts into student credits during the examination . Also, the examinees can resort to snatching each other’s student credit recording device using whatever means necessary during the examination. The number of credits earned by an individual whose recording you have snatched becomes yours . Those who manage to return alive after 72 hours with at least 500 student credits are deemed to have survived the examination. Also note that if someone kills 50 A ranked diabolic beasts and another person kills 50 B ranked diabolic beasts, their credits can never be the same."

Kailen interfered "Makes sense. Because killing a higher ranked Daibolic beast should earn the examinees more results than killing a diabolic beast of a lower rank"

Arrie nodded then continued " After the examination, based on the credits obtained ,individuals will receive a daily amount of the same amount of credits they obtained from the trial sent into their student credit account"

" Interesting " Kailen mused " So that means you earn 900 student credits daily because you obtained 900 student credits on the examination ?" frёewebηovel.cѳm

" Yeah, that’s why I get 900 student credits transported into my student credit account everyday" Arrie nodded.

" What’s the highest amount obtained in the trial?" Kailen asked, eagerly.

" Oh , for the one held at the beginning of the year, I was the highest"

Kailen was shocked .

Arrie laughed , seeing the shocked expression on Kailen’s face.

" What, are you surprised. I might break into the A rank very soon so I’m not that weak. Also, there are a lot of strong students who prefer to not participate in the trial because of the risks. So having a high mark does not necessarily mean you are the strongest in the university or something?. Some strong students just want to earn student credits through other methods, mostly taking missions, participating in duels, challenging the school tower , amongst others ,rather than through the assistant instructor’s assessment. Also,not everyone is interested in becoming an instructor. Some see it as a waste of time"

Kailen nodded , someone like him could have also decided to not to participate in the assistant instructor’s assessment. That did not mean he was weak or something .

However the time dilation artifact wanted him to participate in the trial and become an assistant instructor for a reason he didn’t even know. But did he have a choice?. Well,since he was gonna participate, then he had to earn at least more credits than the amount he earned from plundering the Ashen club members right?

" What’s with that wicked grin of your face?" Arrie’s voice snapped Kailen out of his thoughts.

" Oh, was just thinking of how exciting the assistant instructor’s assessment would be that’s all"

Kailen was short of words,wasn’t the time dilation artifact the reason why he was participating in the assistant instructor’s test in the first place?. Why was the time dilation artifact now berating him?

" Of course" Arrie voiced, snapping Kailen out of his thoughts " Only monsters like you would find participating in the assistant instructor’s test interesting"

Kailen chuckled , then ate his snacks.

As he read through the information , Xu Li Charles eyes widened with intrigue and surprise when he across a particular video.

" Just what sort of absurd affinity is this?. Shadow affinity?. This guy is full of surprises. That wyvern just wiped out all those people with just a single skill?. According to the information, that wyvern is S ranked?. Interesting. It seems this guy has S ranked level strength and has been holding back all this time?. But who recommended him to the university?"

Butler Lee intervened " If I may ,young master. I think his enrollment may have something to d with Arrie Hall?

"Arrie Hall?. That freak? I see. It’s no surprise they were relating with each other in class like they knew one another . How did you figure this out Lee?" The blond haired gentleman, Xu Li Charles, asked.

" From your words just now young master, I deduced based on their interactions with each other in the class.Helena Hall’s intervention in the matter with Skybruff also further proves this to be true . Kailen and Arrie were also spotted a few hours ago at the Calmath restaurant lively engaging in chatter. It seems they are close"

Butler Lee sumised.

" I see, that’s fine . It seems I’ve been keeping a low profile for 4 years already. It’s time to also bask in the spotlight fo a while right? Lee?. My motive for enrolling in the university was to experience thrill and adventure . However nothing interested me for these 4 years so I kept a low profile .Until this Kailen Darkhaven showed up. Perhaps this guy will become as strong as Uncle Reynolds one day huh. Befriending someone like that will be thrilling and full of adventures. I suppose I should also take part in the assistant instructor’s exams"
