Help, I'm in Another World and All the Men Are Are So Dangerous! [BL]-Chapter 332: The Proposal
Chapter 332: The Proposal
Imagining himself as an airplane, he zoomed straight through the vast rose garden with buzzing engine sounds and high spirits.
"Yes, yes! I’m a genius! I didn’t get lost!"
Rocco walked proudly as the sound of the fountain became faintly audible.
He grinned with satisfaction.
A total victory—he had made it without getting lost.
Puffing out his chest, he began humming with joy, stepping out into the open space surrounded by roses.
The first thing he saw was the large fountain.
Beyond it stood a pristine white gazebo.
For a brief moment, he blinked his eyes in surprise.
He thought he saw a few familiar figures through the water mist around the gazebo. But his focus shifted forward before he could give it much thought.
"Laxus!"
Standing in front of the fountain was Laxus, who looked a bit flustered, like he was anxiously fidgeting about.
At the sound of Rocco’s voice, he turned around and his face lit up with a soft, radiant smile that was so genuinely happy it made Rocco’s heart skip a beat.
W-What the heck? You can’t just smile like that out of nowhere—it’s way too unfair, thought Rocco while flustered as he jogged over.
As he got closer, something seemed... off.
"Hm? Laxus, is something going on today? You’re dressed way fancier than usual."
It was Laxus’s outfit that caught Rocco’s attention.
It looked like something worn to a royal ball—elegant and formal.
A white suit with deep red lining that matched Laxus’s eyes.
In his hands, he held an enormous bouquet of roses.
What the—? Blinking his eyes in confusion, Rocco stepped closer.
And then, right in front of him, Laxus suddenly dropped to one knee.
"Wha—?! Laxus?! What are you doing?!"
Rocco gasped as Laxus looked up at him with eyes full of warmth and emotion.
Holding out the massive bouquet, Laxus’s voice trembled slightly as he spoke.
"Rocco, will you marry me?"
Rocco froze.
The words were so unexpected, so completely out of nowhere, that his mind couldn’t even register shock—only stillness.
It felt as though time had stopped just for him.
Even as Rocco remained speechless, Laxus waited, visibly nervous.
The bouquet on his hand trembled slightly—likely from the tension in his hands.
Rocco realized this with strange clarity.
A few seconds—no, maybe even tens of seconds—passed before the color finally rushed to Rocco’s face, flushing all the way from his toes to the top of his head.
His hand shot up to cover his mouth in shock, then reached out and took the bouquet that had been waiting for so long.
The moment he did, Laxus’s red eyes sparkled with hope and joy.
"Ah... I-I want to. I want to marry you, Laxus..."
Holding the bouquet—which was practically the size of his torso—Rocco gave a shy, muffled reply.
The tears slipped from his eyes without warning, and he smiled bashfully.
Laxus, too, widened his eyes and blinked back tears at the sight of Rocco’s expression.
But his smile—the most joyous one Rocco had ever seen—didn’t falter.
Seeing it made Rocco’s heart fill with warmth, until he too began crying harder.
Seconds later, he was full-on bawling, face soaked and voice cracking with emotion.
"I-I l-love you, Laxus... I love you sooo much... waaahhh!"
"Oh, come on now, why are you crying? You’re just too cute, Rocco."
Laxus pulled Rocco into a tight embrace, and Rocco wailed at full volume in his arms.
"It’s because! Because!" he cried out.
Laxus always went overboard with surprises.
When they’d decided on their engagement or even marriage, everything had been handled rather smoothly—almost casually.
The proposal? It had come up several times in passing, and Rocco had accepted it just as lightly.
He figured they’d just slip right into marriage that way too.
So, of course, he never imagined a surprise proposal like this would happen.
Laxus who is dressed so impeccably, had planned out the whole moment, even prepared a bouquet of roses.
Rocco could never have anticipated such a heartfelt, serious proposal.
Maybe his tears were from the shock finally catching up—or maybe it was just too much joy for one heart to hold.
Laxus continued to hold him close with a blissful expression, not seeming to mind Rocco’s unstoppable tears.
"I love you too. I really wanted to do a proper proposal. We finally got the approval to marry, and I was just so happy... I rushed it, didn’t I? I’m sorry for waking you so early, when you were probably still sleepy."
Rocco shook his head furiously and buried his tear-streaked face in Laxus’s shoulder, mumbling through the fabric.
"Nnnh... I woke up on my own today. I didn’t fall back asleep. I opened my eyes right away... because I wanted to see you, Laxus. I did my best to get up. And I didn’t get lost on the way here either..."
Laxus, moved by his words, shed a single tear and smiled with gentle happiness. "Yeah, yeah. I see. You got up all on your own. And you made it here without getting lost—I’m so proud of you. You’re amazing, Rocco. Such a good boy. Thank you. Thank you so much... I love you. I love you so much..."
Laxus gently lifted Rocco’s face from his shoulder, cupped his cheek, and placed a soft kiss on his forehead.
Normally, Rocco would push away with a flustered slap, but just this once, he accepted it quietly—and even returned the gesture, giving Laxus a small kiss on the cheek.
"Wha—?! E-Eh?!"
Rocco’s kiss made Laxus recoil as he pressed a hand to his now-bright red face.
Seeing that reaction, Rocco playfully chased after him with more kisses, giggling at the flustered expression.
Still blushing, Laxus finally grabbed him in a tight hug and shook him slightly, overwhelmed.
"Wh-What is going on?! You turned into a little devil all of a sudden... Are you trying to kill me!?"
"Hey! Don’t say dumb things. I love you, Laxus. Always and forever. So don’t die!"
Rocco hugged the panicking Laxus tightly, pouting with a mock-angry expression.
