I'm the Villainess in the Apocalypse-Chapter 454. Offer
Chapter 454: 454. Offer
"Jake, Jill." Mr. Williams nodded politely at the two people.
Thinking about him making a scene in his apartment some time ago, Mr. Williams felt a bit embarrassed. After all, he was essentially losing face in front of the younger generations. Thankfully, the two of them had no intention to talk about that matter anymore.
After all, what Betty did was quite shameful and it was not suitable to bring up at all.
"Mr. Williams, we’re here to talk about some business," Jake went straight to the point.
Business?
Both Mr. Williams and Brian had their ears perked up when they heard Jake said this. Any business opportunity in City A Base was very rare. So much that Mr. Williams felt that it was truly not a good thing for people who wanted to rise up.
But what could they do?
In this era, many materials were lacking and the base also didn’t support of them owning any places on their own. Mostly it was because the space was also lacking and many of them didn’t have the equipment needed for many works.
Those were all owned by the base.
So, any kind of job opportunity was usually snapped very quickly because a lot of people needed job here.
They didn’t want to sleep on the street.
"What business?" Mr. William asked.
Jake then talked about the job offer given by the Davis Family. In order to expand their influence, they needed more manpower to do various types of jobs, some included management and also hunting these big mutated animals.
Those who were awakened would be formed team by the Davis Family, supported by them and all big mutated animals hunted by them had to be given to the Davis Family.
And those of plant abilities would be given some preferential treatment in order to raise and cultivate these awakened people. The more people they were, the better it would be.
Of course, the cost that the Davis Family had to bear was definitely not cheap.
However, for the sake of power and more resources from City A Base, this much was nothing. At the very least, the Davis Family was willing to bear such cost and chose to recruit many people.
Even though Brenda was annoyed because the notes about Jill was not right, but she still wanted to keep Jill.
Because her plants abilities were exactly what she needed.
And the research institute didn’t accept her for some reasons, so Brenda chose to offer this job to her.
"I want in," Brian said promptly.
Jake might be a useless young master most of the time, but he knew the basic of negotiation was to lay some cards on the table and gave the profitable offer. Of course, there would be some risks given to the potential target, but it was usually downplayed to make them attracted.
After all, this kind of job was not without a risk.
Even if the Davis Family was willing to nurture them, they might have to do some other dirty jobs in the future. Besides, there was also the risk of death because they had to go out and fought against those big mutated animals out there.
There was no telling what would happen in the future.
But at the very least, they wouldn’t be able to live peacefully and doing any stable jobs. Their lives would be filled with battles and risk of life and death because they had to go out of the base.
"Are you sure? They want you to sign death waiver form," Jake reminded.
This was one of his consideration when he chose to enter.
On one side, the Davis Family offered a lot benefits that would allow them to grow stronger quickly. And after facing the attack of those big mutated animals not long ago, what they all wanted was to get stronger.
But at the other side, the Davis Family refuse to be responsible for any accident they experienced when they were hunting these big mutated animals. They would invest in them, but they expected that they would finish their mission and tasks on their own.
The Davis Family wanted people they could use.
"Sure." Brian nodded. "I’m not afraid of death."
Mr. Williams heard the term and frowned.
While it was good, but he was not very good at fighting. Even if he had some abilities, Mr. Williams knew very well that he was not suited to fight on the frontline against those big mutated animals.
"I can’t enter, but I’ll support you, Brian," Mr. Williams finally said.
"Thank you, Father." Brian nodded.
He was not as close as his sister to his father, but he was still polite in front of Mr. Williams. No matter what, Mr. Williams is still his biological father and also the person who funded his entire family in the past.
It might not be a glorious thing, but it was something that Brian accepted.
After that, they discussed the details of the work and so on. Mr. Williams was happy while Mrs. Williams was a bit worried about her son but thinking that they could also earn some resources from Davis Family, she calmed down her heart.
As long as they could live a better life, it didn’t really matter that much.
...
Other side, Uncle Darien’s side
What Davis Family did was actually not a secret. And the other families were actually also doing something similar because they also wanted to recruit more awakened into their own family.
Uncle Darien himself also had some thoughts and naturally also expanded some recruitments.
Rather than letting these awakened built their own new leader and cause chaos like before, it would be better for them to be the one to nurture these awakened to let them work under them.
This way, it would be much better.
Knock! Knock!
"Come in."
Lucas walked inside and Uncle Darien looked at Lucas speechlessly. He had the feeling that those two old guys would always ask Lucas to come to him when they wanted something.
"What did those old foggies said this time?"
