Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 1454: Awakened relics
Chapter 1454: Awakened relics
Thanks to Rain’s sense of urgency, he forced himself to wake up after resting for a full day. He still felt like he needed to sleep more, but that was something that he could solve later. Besides, things were getting noisy in his pocket dimension since his underlings were sparring against each other.
"It looks like they want to be of more use against the next machine god..." Rain thought. "I guess I will give them a hand here since I also need to speed things up with the research and obtain some results before we have the next meeting."
Using Time Dilation and by decreasing the size of the pocket dimension, Rain sped things up there if compared to outside... he wouldn’t be able to use his mana for anything else, but that was fine. He needed to start his research with the void aspect.
Rain went to check the data that they obtained from Hilo as well... and when he found the other giant library, he couldn’t help but sigh... that will take a while.
As Rain accessed Hilo’s database, he found himself confronted with the same information about the very origins of the machine gods. The early entries mirrored those found in Lok’s database, detailing the genesis of their kind and the tumultuous events that had shaped their existence.
Skimming through the familiar information, Rain’s attention was drawn to a particular section detailing the experiments involving the aspect of Void. With a sense of urgency, Rain focused his attention on this section, sifting through the dense technical jargon and complex schematics. It was slow and meticulous work, but Rain persisted, driven by a determination to uncover the power within the depths of Hilo’s database.
And then, amidst the labyrinthine passages of information, he found it, a series of entries detailing the experiments conducted on the aspect of Void, each one revealing tantalizing glimpses of the power that lay dormant within Hilo’s form.
The skill Void Perception leveled up.
The skill Void Shroud leveled up.
The skill Void Channeling leveled up.
...
"Well, I should have known..." Rain shrugged.
The start of the knowledge only improved the skills that he already had on that path, but that was fine by Rain since he was getting stronger thanks to the knowledge, and that sensation made him fight better the exhaustion.
Rain didn’t realize that, but reading the start of the machine gods’ lives would be pretty easy from now on since he already knew the basics. Now, he would just see things from their perspective.
From Hilo’s perspective, things always had been pretty boring and stale. His task was to study the Void, and that basically made him be surrounded by darkness all the time. Darkness, silence, nothing interesting happening or interactions with anything related to life.
"No wonder he was so emo," Rain thought. "I guess anyone would be like that, and they would only hear the same song: hello darkness, my old friend..."
From Hilo’s perspective, he got the short stick of the job, even though it had been out of randomness. At first, things didn’t seem that bad since he still interacted with the others, but as soon as they left their base and began to do experiments outside, things got dark pretty quickly.
"Eh, I will just skip these parts..." Rain thought. "That being said, since I didn’t skip Loks parts, I had some inspiration for techniques, so maybe I shouldn’t do it here either."
Rain and everyone had some time now, so perhaps he shouldn’t do that. Although he was looking forward to seeing his first grandchild, it wasn’t the same as having a kid... it would be a bit weird if he were to stay so close to them that much. That special moment was for Sealyn and Van.
"I am getting old and emo too with age, it seems," Rain shrugged.
Lvl 15: Void Tendrils - Manifests tendrils of darkness from the abyssal Void, capable of ensnaring and immobilizing foes with chilling tendrils of nothingness. Higher levels increase the durability of the skill.
Lvl 20: Void Infusion - Infuses objects or beings with the essence of the Void, rendering them immune to conventional magic and resistant to physical attacks. Higher levels increase the duration of the effect.
Lvl 25: Void Rift - Tears open rifts in the fabric of reality, allowing passage through the abyssal Void to distant locations or personal dimensions. Higher levels increase the capacity to create larger dimensions.
After a few days of continuous research, those were the results that Rain got. His focus made him lose the notion of time, but at least he confirmed that only two days had passed outside. So, he decided to take a break and then pass the information he just got to the others.
When he went to look for the others, Rain soon saw them reunited around Sealyn’s home... It seemed that it was about time.
"Is she having birth pains?" Rain asked when he found his father.
"Yeah, since yesterday," Roan said. "The woman is with her, and it is better if we don’t go until the child is born."
Rain knew why since he had seen his wives giving birth several times... only those who were necessary should be with her at that moment at her house. Still, pretty much the whole group was waiting for the good news around the area.
"Did you finally decide to give your report?" Roan asked, trying to keep his mind busy. "It will probably be better to keep that for another time; otherwise, Sealyn will try to come to the meeting instead of recovering."
"True..." Rain nodded.
"By the way, it seems that you didn’t find a relic this time," Roan said. "However, It seems that the other relics are awakened at the same time."
"I guess I will kill time talking with them about the future," Rain said and then teleported all the relics to his side and then headed to the meeting ten and put the weapons on the table. "Wakey, wakey. Sleepyheads."
