Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 1455: Gossip
Chapter 1455: Gossip
"I had heard rumors from Victor, but it seems that things are a lot worse than expected," a woman’s voice came from the moonbow.
"So, you guys are into gossip, noted," Rain said. "It truly suits Victor’s character that he would be bitchy like that."
"Ugh, you are so annoying..." Victor said.
"My name is Lucia, and I am not into gossip," The woman in the moonbow said. "I wanted to thank you for freeing me, but this is difficult now since you are so insufferable."
"You sure know how to make an introduction," Rain said. "What about you."
"Someone here has to be the normal among the group. I am that person," Marie said.
"Being normal among such an abnormal group is pretty abnormal," Rain said. "Anyway, what you guys can say that it can be of any good use to me?"
Marie was the spirit that was in the golden vase, and Rain wondered why she decided to make her vessel like that when it wasn’t a weapon... it seemed that she tried to take a more supportive role with her ability to make healing water that restores mana and stamina as well. Now that she was awakened, perhaps Rain could use that ability better since Esmeralda was busy with other stuff.
"As you know, I stayed under the machine god known as Arel for quite a while," Marie said. "She used my power to revive or repair the bodies of many creatures. That giant fly was one of them... while I was half awakened the whole time, she had access to many creatures, some of them that weren’t even like the first dragons."
"So, she has monsters that the machine gods didn’t create?" Sakaki asked. "They should have enough resources to rebuild a new species with the traits of the monsters that they want and with the body of a dragon, so I can’t imagine why she would have those."
"She might be hiding them from the other machine gods to use them against them..." Nigel said. "By the way, Rain. Did you miss me? I am itching for a fight, you know."
"Not one bit," Rain said. "Don’t make the talk get into such a weird tangent... anyway, even though she is the machine god of energy... she didn’t have the skills to repair the bodies of those creatures, huh? This is interesting."
"From all the machine gods, destroying her will be particularly difficult," Sakaki said. "While their cores are essentially the same, she already showed that she can take the bodies of other creatures. She repairs those monsters in order to use them at the same time while keeping her real body from harm. She is clearly planning to keep fighting for a while, and she won’t go down that easily... those bodies should have been from life forms from the planets that they took over, and if she decided to repair them, they should be pretty tough." freewebnoveℓ.com
"She sure had been busy, even though she had enough time to watch me for a while..." Rain said. "While we were in the prison, she tried to keep helping me to lower my guard, so it seems that she wanted to make me reveal as much information as possible that she wanted. I can’t say that I look like the type of creature she would like to use the body, but I can’t discard the idea."
"She doesn’t control the aspect of spirit, so her fusion with those bodies isn’t perfect," Larisa said. "It is hard to believe that the aspect of spirit would help her knowing how much far she is going to prepare for a possible confrontation. Any of the machine gods would find her actions worrisome."
Everyone agreed with that... as expected, Arel will be one of the final ones to go down... at least according to Rain’s plans. So, he decided to put that topic aside as they began to gather more information on other fields.
"Anything else?" Rain asked.
"I had a few things to say about Loks plans, but considering how you defeated Hilo, my input won’t help you further," Lucia said. "While impertinent, you sure are useful and skilled."
"I think that you are mixing our positions here. I am the one doing the use here," Rain said.
"I will allow you to think like that," Lucia said.
"Allow?" Rain frowned.
"Don’t mind her, Lucia was a woman from a rich family, so she grew up to be like that... even after decades of facing the first dragons, she didn’t change," Sakaki said. "Anyway, while you should talk with the others about the next target, we can talk and share some ideas about the ones who should be the easiest to deal with."
"We need to avoid these for now: Lonos from time, Arel from energy, and Fortus from probability," Rain said. "Ateros from matter, Rais from information, and Lidos from spirit."
"Rais seems like the most difficult out of those three," Sakaki said. "Anyone disagrees with that?"
Everyone just got silent... Rain already knew that Ateros and Lidos would be the best possible targets... but he honestly didn’t know which one to choose between them. Logically speaking, Lidos should be stronger, but how exactly? Considering the skills that Rain had from both aspects, it was hard to say for sure.
Lvl 1: Matter Forge - Initiates the ability to shape mana into basic elemental substances such as fire, water, Earth, and air, allowing for foundational material creation.
Lvl 1: Spirit Sensing - Initiates the ability to perceive the presence of spirits and other ethereal beings, sensing their energy signatures and intentions.
The Spirit aspect appeared to be primarily centered around communication and interaction with spiritual entities, facilitating the ability to talk with and potentially influence spirits in various ways.
At the same time, the skills associated with the Matter aspect were more grounded in the manipulation and transformation of physical matter. This aspect likely held the capacity to forge objects all kinds of objects, creating the raw materials of the physical world to create and modify structures with precision and skill.
