Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 1458: The next level
Chapter 1458: The next level
"I guess I will work on that, and you can tell the others about it if they ask about me," Rain said. "First, I will complete the void path since that will give me enough clues about the whole thing."
"Won’t that take a long time like before?" Isa asked.
"I will focus on the basics of unlocking all the skills first. That should speed things up," Rain said. "Well, until later."
At that point in time, Reading was about to become Rain’s highest-level skill since it was close to three hundred. Thanks to that, he realized that reached level one thousand would be the absolute peak of any skills.
Lvl 50: Void Consumption - Consumes matter and energy into the abyssal Void, draining the life force of foes and replenishing one’s own energies.
Lvl 55: Void Form - Assumes a form composed of pure emptiness, granting ethereal mobility and immunity to physical attacks while traversing the abyssal Void. Higher levels increase duration.
Lvl 60: Abyssal Wall - Draws upon the depths of the abyssal Void to block all sorts of attacks. Higher levels increase effectiveness.
Lvl 65: Abyssal Nova - Unleashes a cataclysmic explosion of void energy, obliterating everything within its radius and leaving behind a desolate voidscape. Cost: 500.000 mana
Lvl 70: Void Mastery - Attains mastery over the abyssal Void, transcending mortal limitations to become a harbinger of cosmic emptiness and wielder of its unfathomable power. Increases the powers of skills of this path by ten percent per level.
Lvl 75: Abyssal Nexus - Establishes a personal nexus of abyssal convergence, serving as a focal point for the practitioner’s vast void power and facilitating unparalleled feats of void manipulation.
Just as expected, Rain made more and faster progress when he focused just on learning the skills. While they were only at level one, Rain did that in a single day, and he still could keep going. It was a bit tiresome, but the progress was good for his mind as well.
"I am on a roll or what?" Rain thought.
"It seems that people are looking for you outside," Elisabetha said. "While Isa passed the message to them, they still want you there."
"I guess it is about time to start the planning for the next mission... even if it is just the basics," Rain thought.
When Rain found everyone, they had already started the meeting, but it seemed that Sealyn and Van weren’t with them. They convinced those two to relax for a while with the promise that they wouldn’t talk about anything too serious. As such, they were only talking about the fights and how they could have improved the situation with some specialized training.
"Hey, Rain," Roan said. "Sorry for bothering you. We just wanted to ask your opinion regarding a few things."
"No problem, I need a break now and then," Rain said. "Still, first of all, how is Sealyn doing?"
"She is doing fine; she looks pretty happy looking after Reed, but I am not sure if she will still look calm once we start preparations for the next battle," Roan said. "The women of the family are helping her and staying with her. That is one of the reasons that convinced her that she doesn’t need to hurry."
Sealyn emitted a sense of familiarity reminiscent of a woman from Earth’s past who had taken a hiatus from work to focus on motherhood. There was a gentle strength in her demeanor, a quiet determination that spoke volumes about her character and resolve. Yet, despite the demands of parenthood, there was an unmistakable eagerness in her eyes, a yearning to return to her work and pursue her ambitions with renewed vigor. Becoming a mother made her become actually more ferocious since she was doing that for Reed as well.
It was a sentiment that resonated with Rain, who couldn’t help but empathize with Sealyn’s desire to maintain her professional pursuits while balancing the responsibilities of motherhood. He wished he could reassure her that her contributions were not only valued but indispensable and that she should take the time she needed to focus on raising Reed without the pressures of work weighing on her mind.
But the reality of their situation was far more complex. With the looming threat of the machine gods and the ever-present dangers lurking on the horizon, every hand was needed on deck. The fate of their world hung in the balance, and there was no room for hesitation or uncertainty.
And so, despite his heartfelt wishes to the contrary, Rain knew that he couldn’t afford to turn away Sealyn’s offer of assistance. Her skills and expertise were sorely needed, and her absence would be felt in the face of the challenges that lay ahead.
"Well then, what do you guys want to talk about?" Rain asked after he crossed his arms.
"We had made a lot of progress using Teleport during that training session, so we wanted to come up with more exercises using that path," Regis replied. "For some reason, we didn’t unlock new skills when the path reached the right levels. It should be the value of our intelligence and wisdom."
"You guys have been working hard, but I guess the overseer wouldn’t make things easier..." Rain said while rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "I was able to pull it off because I had to master all the paths of the lords to register those skills on his system, and that was why I had enough intelligence and wisdom for the aspects of the paths. In any case, I guess I can try to teach you guys my secret combination of techniques."
Making everyone learn the true power of the Origin Punch from the beginning wouldn’t work, but making them combine Portal Conjuration and Charged Punch would be good enough for the time being. After that, they will be able to add that to their fighting styles and improve on their own. After a few demonstrations, everyone was completely dumbfounded... that technique was just insane.
