"{Gate}."

Once I did, I walked towards it. Zanele and Olamide followed after me. The rest of the princes stayed behind. Although I couldn’t see their faces, I somehow knew that my girls were depressed and sad. If they had bunny ears, those would droop to the floor.

While I was angry, the mere thought of my girls being in low spirits bothered me. I stopped just before I passed and turned back. Sure enough, all of them were looking at me with faces that came across as distraught. I sighed. Then I reopened my {Kindred} link.

’As if I could stay mad at any of you. Come here. My precious {Kindred}.’

"YES!"x4

Like children called to play, the girls all beamed smiles. As if their earlier appearance were a lie, they all raced toward me. They all threw themselves at me. We hugged and shared a few short and sweet kisses.

We all then left the African princes and their clans. As Amari and Mia were still present, they should manage somehow. But then I had a feeling that I had forgotten something.

[My lord. What of the wolves or the Awakened?]

’Oh, right. How did Jo even appear beside me? Wasn’t she with the Wolves?’

[Uhm…I don’t know if I should.]

’Exa…’

[My lord, Lady Jo never left your side. She was in [Ninja] and in [Shadow] the entire time. The rest of the wolves are training alone; Lady Jo is determining this by listening to the air vibrations. And she talks to them by throwing her voice with {Echo}.]

At Exa’s revelation, I felt my back break out in a cold sweat. Despite all my senses, I had no idea Jo had never left. Even our {Kindred} link pointed to her fighting with her personal unit. If she was beside me the entire time, that was creepy as fuck.

’How did I not see her?’

[Lady Jo has figured out how to fake {Kindred} signatures using {Echo}. This was her first test on whether you would notice. The {Program} is called [Ethereal]. It is a step beyond [Shadow] and [In Plain Sight].]

’…’

I turned to Jo. This woman was already terrifying even before she became a Specter. The best proof was her inhuman and evil {Program} [Save me]. Her intelligence and lack of morals allowed her to go beyond what I could.

This [Ethereal] was creepy. If I didn’t know how much Jo liked me, I would be scared to even close my eyes. Her new {Program}’s combat potential was too fucking high. Especially when she had access to {Fakers}.

"Darling?"

Seeing my gaze, the Italian shooting star made a huge smile as she hugged me. Oblivious to what I was thinking, I reminded myself of how much I loved this woman. She was weird, but she was mine.

’It’s not like being always under observation is new. Bella and Jas were no better. But I at least knew where they were.’

"Nothing, Jo. Exa just told me about your new {Program}."

"I told you that the shit you come up with is creepy as hell, nutjob! No wonder you have no friends!"

"Shut it, Jailbait; you don’t have any either!" Jo snapped back at Robyn’s comment.

"Moral implications aside, it is an incredible {Program} Honey. The Siren squads are all already evaluating to see if it should be given to them."

"Huh? They sound like the stuff you hear from the tests done by the military. You girls are all already outfitting your squads with custom programs?" I asked in disbelief.

"More like we try to give them shit so they can move like us, Possum. The gap between {Limitless} and {Call My Name} is still too big."

"I see. Maybe we can do something the next time I level up. Still, [Ethereal] sounds amazing, Jo; I can’t wait to see it in battle."

"Hehe, it’s pretty cool, right? It’s not ready yet. I still can’t fool Jas, Robyn, or Aki. When they can no longer see me, I will give you the final version."

"It’s already incredibly advanced, though. It’s on the level of [In Plain Sight], but your ability to move is not restricted. Bella shared you already tested it with Rodríguez-sama and Fernández-sama, right? Did they see through it?"

"No. According to them, Jo was already invisible to even Specters. The fact that three of us can still see her is what they find weird. I can understand Jas. But how can you two see her?" Bella interjected while shrugging.

Robyn and Aki joined the conversation as we traversed the tunnel. Zanele and Olamide walked in front of us as they followed the path as we moved in subspace. It was a good thing we were using Lilly’s latest {Fate}; otherwise, that would have been impossible.

As a second benefit to {Gate}. Unlike {Portal} it illuminated the path we were to walk in. It reminded me of a dimly lit stone path at night in some fancy garden. It was beautiful. But its best feature was removing the chance of getting lost in subspace.

Robyn replied as she walked with her arms crossed over her head.

"For me, I can ’feel’ her steps. Dunno how to explain it. Even with [Silent Steps] and [In Plain Sight], I can tell if anything’s movin’ around me. Exa said somethin’ about gravity distortions or some rubbish like that."

"As for me, ever since I ascended to level 6, {Carve} can now ’see’ anything that has blood flowing in it. Warm and cold, it doesn’t matter. So long as it’s alive, I can sense the life in it. And how to best kill it," Aki explained.

Hearing my girls all discuss, I felt the gap between us only grow wider. With each level that the Sirens ascended, their earlier {Fates} all grew stronger. While I did the same, I was behind everyone as I was still at level five.

The girls and I chatted for a while longer, and we finally exited the {Gate}. When I cut off the souls and stamina, the space doorway abruptly closed. Along with it anything that might have still been inside.

As I looked back toward the familiar hut, I grew excited. While I didn’t know if all my {Kindred} were masking the emotions in their links, the three in front of me weren’t.

In the hut, a trio of beautiful goddesses stood like models on a runway.

One had a head of blazing red hair with a toned yet sexy body. Her tall and powerful frame made Zanele’s dwelling tiny. Joy radiated from her eyes as she gazed at me with affection.

The one next to her wore a military uniform that obscenely hugged her body. Like a badass, the woman wore her coat like a cape. She made a smug smile as she flicked her ponytail.

Finally, the last newcomer had chocolate-covered skin. She was wrapped in a form-fitting bodysuit. Although stoic compared to the other two, her lips had a small curve upward. That alone told me how happy this woman truly was.

"Beloved." "Dearest." "Husband."

"Did you miss us?" x3

Wordlessly, I only spread out my arms. I beckoned them to my embrace. Liv, Lilly, and Jas raced and threw themselves toward me. The Anvil team gave way and allowed me to hug the hammer team.

Finally, all seven of my girls were together. And it gave me unspeakable joy.
