Limitless The Strongest Revenant-Chapter 956: The Successor and the Sins [1/2]
"Welcome back, everyone," I said with a gigantic smile.
As I hugged the hammer team, the anvil team felt left out and also threw themselves at me. While most would find their antics annoying, I welcomed it.
Unfortunately, Zanele, who was also in the hut, couldn't help but comment.
"They really were all alive. How odd."

The moment she said such a thing, all my girls turned their heads toward her. I couldn't even see their faces, but the feeling surrounding the air was suffocating. Two of them were already Specters.
Zanele, noticing her slip-up, quickly knelt and bowed to our group. Olamide, the only other person in the hut, also knelt beside her.
"Please forgive me, my lord and ladies! I was just surprised; I am nothing but happy that all seven of the sins still accompany the Successor."
Fearing that this might get out of hand, I called out to the girls in the gentlest voice I could muster.
"My precious {Kindred}, the ones who hold my heart. Please do not mind her. No matter what happened to the other Successors and their sins, we are different. Pay it no mind. What is important is that we are all here, and that I love you all very much."
"Hmph. You seem to have become even more skilled in mediation, Dearest. Very well. I will stow my anger for now. This woman has been saying nothing but slander this entire time. It would be interesting to see what she based all these lies from."
"Lilly, stop. We came to Zanele because she knows things we do not. Stop being childish and believing she is doing it out of ill will. That goes for all of you. What matters is that as we are now, we stand united. We are Limitless."
"Sigh. Fine. If even Liv says so. Then I will relent. Husband, as recompense, the spot to your left is mine."
"Ah! Jas, that is sneaky! You just wanted to use whatever reason! The prime spots beside Darling are Lilly's and mine! You already had your time! If you want them, you all should try to evolve to Specters!"
"Ara ara, don't be too overconfident, Jo. You may have come first as a Specter, but I guarantee you, I will become our family's first Revenant. Anata, you believe me, right?"
"Aki, stop trying to pick a fight with her. Need I remind you all that we are on the clock? We still have to hide Honey from the other Successor. And if we really do storm the capital, we need to do it fast. Stop trying to think that we can take on the entire continent."
"Strewth! Get off your high horse, nutjob. You slagger can compete in ascending, but Possum and I will be the ones to close Hellsgate! Nelle, sit your ass down and get talking. Do it with as few words as possible."
Perhaps overwhelmed by my harem's intensity, Zanele stammered, trying to obey my Kitten's command. "U-Uh, I understand, Lady Rhiannon. E-Everyone, please make yourselves comfortable first. Olamide, would you mind making everyone some tea?"
Hearing my girls all together felt kind of nostalgic. They were all on edge because of the warning from Blanche. But at the same time, I could sense their competitive spirits burning nonstop. A far cry from how they were when I met them.
And I didn't need anyone to tell me that I was the cause. As someone who saw how they slowly evolved to what they were now, I couldn't be any happier. During the enlistment, they all believed that I was a fool for my words.
"I will prove that Formless are not useless. I will become a Revenant and close Hellsgate."
That simple promise sent me on a trajectory no one could have predicted. Unlike when I was still alive, my life as a Reaper was intense. Who knew standing up for myself would lead to such a different outcome.
Each day in this life had far more in it than the decades I spent as a human. I loved and I hated, I feared and I overcame, I lost as well as gained. The emotions I experienced filled my days with a dazzling number of colors.
Sure, you could argue that my life as a Reaper hasn't even been three months. But it wasn't that. It was more because I didn't grow alone but did so with my new family. The seven women by my side were the primary reason why my life was so different.
My harem took each step and grew alongside me. And unlike during the enlistment, they no longer considered my words mere fantasy. If at first it was just me. Now they also wished to evolve to Revenants. We were even going to reclaim Antarctica!
'And they also all believed we could win this. That we could close Hellsgate,' I thought with a smile.
Filled with pride for my girls, I sent a boatload of positive feelings to each of them. I then calmed the Sirens down as I said words of reassurance.
"My {Kindred} please stop being so lovable. I don't care at all who ascends first or last. What is important is that we will all do it together. Whether it be becoming Specters, Revenants, or even when we close Hellsgate. Everyone must be by my side always."
The Sirens all nodded with a calm demeanor as I took my seat. Naturally, they all parked their cute behinds around where I sat. Lilly and Jo took the spots by my side, and the rest filled the spots in my immediate vicinity. I felt like a Hollywood actor surrounded by fans.
"Zanele, do not mind Robyn and speak as you normally would," I gestured to her.
"O-Oh, of course, Successor. Hmm… where should I begin?"
The woman then closed her eyes and pondered. People normally had trouble deciding where to begin because the scope of the topic was too vast. In those moments, the best thing to do was to focus on the very core issue and then branch out.
"Start with what the Successor and the Sins are," I suggested.
Opening her eyes, Zanele nodded. We came to her for this one topic at the beginning. But, as with anything, reality seldom followed what one wanted. With the immediate crises of the African princes resolved, we had some breathing room.
"Yes. That would be the best place. Please give me a moment to organize my thoughts."
From my talks with the Soldat matriarch, I learned that she revered the Successors. And that women known as Sins accompanied them. It wasn't just her. Even before coming to Africa, Blanche already referred to my girls as "Sins."
'Exa, prepare to record everything that we hear from this point forward. And if possible, try to sync it with the history of both the humans and Reapers. I feel like this Successor thing is a big deal.'
Zanele then opened her eyes and created a soul cage that locked up the hut. It was a common practice by those who were about to drop some serious dark secrets.
"Before we proceed, I would like to apologize to each of the Sirens. I have lived a long life and have been guided and blinded by what I know. Put simply, it is extremely odd that a Successor still has his Sins when he ventures out on his quest."
