Mated to the Mad Lord-Chapter 233: Slighted!
Chapter 233: Slighted!
"We still haven’t been able to find her!" the guard said, kneeling on the ground, but instead of getting angry like he did at first, Eldric simply waved his hand for the guard to get out.
Ignoring the subtle sound of the door being closed, he lowered his head to stare at the reports on the table.
Frowning in particular at the ones related to the Reds and their dead Lords.
Javi should be able to take care of it, but to think one of theirs would try to pin the blame on us! he thought with a sneer as he flipped the page.
Unable to think of why any Werewolf lord would do such a thing that wouldn’t benefit them in any way.
Cain could, but right now, with the amount of Red potion being poured into his food... He chuckled to himself, confident that Cain was already on the verge of going insane.
He had doubled the amount Lady June said he should put in, and he was simply waiting for when Cain finally went bonkers and could no longer be a lord.
Once removed, all he had to do was sweep in and kill him, and everyone would simply think he disappeared.
...it’s not like he would be missed! he thought to himself with a smile on his face, only for a frown to slowly creep in as he thought back to his daughter.
If she were where she was supposed to be, then not only would he have already gotten Cain’s child, which he could use, but there would have been no reason to keep Cain alive any longer.
...problems!!! All of them... he grumbled to himself, but he had just done that when he heard the phone ring. He immediately stretched out his hand, aware that only the people closest to him had the number to his office line.
"YEAH!" he barked in a domineering tone, only to hear a sharp intake of breath and the trembling of the other person on the other end of the phone.
"F-Fiona said to tell you to meet her in W district...at the main market plaza! Sh-she’ll be there in an hour’s time!"
The voice was low, timid, and trembling, and Eldric would be stupid not to take advantage of the change as he made his voice even more domineering than before as he began to ask questions.
"WHO ARE YOU? WHAT’S YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH MY DAUGHTER?" he said in a voice that was so icy, his tone itself was a threat.
But he had just spoken when he heard the person on the other end gasp, almost like they were on the edge of tears, before the call instantly ended.
Eldric realized that he might have overestimated their endurance, as it was obvious that they were too weak to even withstand the pressure of his voice.
Notwithstanding, Eldric immediately jumped to his feet, calling for his elite guards and giving them instructions as he walked out of his office.
He had a helipad, and getting to W district would take less than an hour, which meant that in an hour’s time, he would have no issues getting to the meeting point.
Convinced that it was indeed Fiona, especially after hearing the voice of the messenger, but at the same time, just in case it was a trap...Eldric didn’t intend to deliver himself on a platter of gold to his many enemies.
He took about thirty of his most elite men, ensuring that even if they couldn’t defeat the enemy, he would be able to escape without getting seriously wounded.
The things one does for family... he muttered to himself as he got into the backseat of the car that was opened for him by one of his guards.
His expression grew even darker than before the moment the door was closed and he was by himself, a dangerous look in his eye even as he wondered how and why Fiona was in W district.
William? Does he really have the guts? he thought to himself, his expression growing darker by the moment just before he let out a chuckle as he shook his head.
"A dying man’s final fight?" he wondered aloud, chuckling even louder to himself as the rows of cars, with his in the middle, zoomed off. The driver, aware that his Lord was muttering to himself, also knew better than to do anything else but drive.
********
William got back in the evening, a few minutes after 4, and was satisfied to see that all seemed good and quiet.
Even the weariness that constantly wracked his body wasn’t as much, due to the effects of the medical procedures that were being done on him.
It was painful, but it would also ensure that he would be in almost perfect health until his body could no longer withstand it.
For a bit, he no longer cared about his impending death, and at that moment, he raised his head, his thoughts shifting to Eldric’s daughter, whom he had managed to get under his thumb.
I love you! he chuckled inwardly to himself as he walked inside the house, the thought that he could get even so small a revenge against Eldric was already enough.
She’s going to bear my child, and there’s nothing you can do about it! he thought to himself with glee, again doing his best to reconcile himself to the fact that although he was dying, his heir would live on.
As if anyone could love someone like her...with a father as terrible and vicious as Eldric!
If I had my way...I would have tortured her until she was begging for death, he thought to himself as he plastered a soft smile on his face and walked up the stairs, heading towards her room with a huge bouquet of flowers in his hand.
He didn’t have to leave the mansion again anytime soon, which meant that he wouldn’t have to lock her up.
I’ll offer to take her out and maybe fuck her a couple of times, and that should be fine! Annoyed at having to pretend, but otherwise knowing that for the sake of his heir, he had to.
He had just gotten in front of the door when the guards who stood there immediately saluted him.
Standing in a way that made it clear that they hadn’t left their post and had obeyed his instructions to the letter.
"My lord!" they greeted, falling to their knees with their heads bowed, even as William nodded his head with a smile and gestured that they open the door.
More than satisfied to see the guard bring out the key in his hand to open the door, William improved more on the expression on his face to look saddened and anxious, a bit conflicted too, as he slowly entered, calling her name with an apologetic tone even before he walked past the entrance.
"Fiona! I’m sorry! I know I—" only to freeze as he looked around and saw no traces of her in the huge room, his gaze fixed on the bathroom door that seemed to be locked as he walked towards it with the bouquet of red flowers in his hand.
But he had just pushed the door open when his heart sank. He turned around, his gaze fixed on the open window, which he had ignored at first, only to move closer.
Shaking his head as he did, there was no way she would jump down from the third floor, aware of how excited she was about their child.
Only to move closer and be stunned by the bedsheet rope hanging down the window, which, surprisingly, none of his guards had somehow missed.
He was pissed!
