Mated to the Mad Lord-Chapter 254: Danger of Love
Chapter 254: Danger of Love
For a split second, Fervor froze, his gaze slanting ever so slightly in a closed manner as he looked at Eldric, almost as if he were trying to figure out what he was up to. Just before his gaze returned to its perpetually cold and neutral state.
"I agree! The faster we clear the air, the better!" Harriet nodded her head, a cold gaze on her face, even as Lady Bella also agreed. freewёbnoνel.com
Lord Magnus and Lord Grainger saw no reason to waste any time and also agreed. Grainger, who had seemed mostly neutral, added, "We can also confirm whether or not she’s pregnant. For all we know, it could be one of Lord William’s lies!"
Magnus added a clause of his own. "We could also search the mansion! There should be more clues, and we—" but this time, Fervor didn’t allow him to finish, sending a cold look at Magnus, which surprised him. Magnus had simply looked at Fervor like a wolf would look at a dog who was simply barking.
"As long as I’m Guardian, I would implore that you recognize your place!" The authority in his voice alone was enough to shock them. Even Grainger couldn’t help the way his eyes shot up in shock as he focused his gaze more intensely on Fervor, who continued to speak.
"I can have her brought to Eldric’s district in an hour! In the meantime, we should take a break!" he said in a way that showed no one was above the other, making it hard for them to continue to look down at him.
"In the meantime, we can discuss Lord Cain’s dismissal!" Harriet brought up, recalling the way the lover had looked at her, which still greatly pissed her off. "He’s a menace and a danger to others! He needs to be killed!" she outrightly said. Eldric nodded in agreement but otherwise didn’t add to it.
If Fiona was coming, then he needed to bring his plans forward, which meant he needed to prepare, and he also needed that break. "I vote that we discuss this after. I need a break!" he said in a voice that sounded much weaker than before, confident that since he made his wish known, the ones that usually wouldn’t go against him, like William had done, would learn to slowly acquiesce to what he wanted.
Magnus instantly agreed, while Grainger looked more unwilling, a frown still stamped on his face as he added, "For the way you killed a fellow Lord, you will still have to—"
"Yes, Lord Grainger! I am aware and will make up for my mistakes!" Eldric interrupted with a smile on his face, one that didn’t reach his eyes, especially since it was clear that he had expected all of them to forget about him and fully focus on Lord Fervor instead.
"I vote for a break!" Lady Bella added, not saying anything else. The fact that one lord was dead and had been killed by another was already heavy enough. Not to mention the addition of another one, which brought immense tension to the room.
Father warned me to be silent and behave, but still... things are clearly getting out of hand! she thought, having been shocked to find out that William had gone as far as to kidnap Eldric’s daughter. That’s crazy!!! she thought to herself, even as she felt Drey’s arm fall gently on her shoulder from behind, comforting her for the barest of seconds before he drew away. It was more than enough, as a subtle smile lingered on her face. She heard Eldric immediately open his mouth to finalize the discussion, as he usually did.
"Since all five of us have agreed that—" But he was still speaking when Fervor got to his feet. His eyes were a darker shade of brown, and his hair, midnight black, had grown long enough for him to pack it on his head in a ponytail. He glanced at them, still speaking as he turned around to leave.
The guard that stood behind him didn’t so much as meet the gaze of anyone, prepared to walk out with his lord or fight if it came to it. He had been shaking since he walked in, even more terrified when somehow he had been chosen out of everyone else.
I know my luck is bad!! But what did I do to make it worse! he thought to himself as he waited.
"I’m leaving! I’ll be back in an hour with Fiona!" Fervor said as he walked out of the room without once glancing back or hesitating by the entrance to hear whatever they were going to say next.
Harriet and Magnus were miffed, and they showed it in the frowns that instantly appeared on their faces. But Grainger was more surprised, as a smile played across his face, which only widened when he caught the anger that flashed in Eldric’s gaze before he quickly hid it.
Bella was just as surprised as she folded her hands in her lap and thought nothing more of it. She didn’t care as long as it had nothing to do with her or her family.
I simply have to stay here for a while longer before I get to go home! she thought, not seeing a reason to leave even as the others began to do so, getting to their feet and walking out one after the other. The first of whom was Eldric, who made his way out without another word.
It didn’t take long before each of them slowly walked out one after the other with their respective bodyguards, whom they were allowed to bring in for their protection.
Still, even minutes later after the last person had shut the door behind them and only Bella was left in the room, she continued to sit quietly in her seat with Drey, the strongest of her father’s guards and assistant, standing behind her.
A few silent moments passed again before she felt a hand on her neck, pulling her back ever so slowly. Her face moved to the side, like she had done so many times, not surprised by the lips she saw waiting for her there and then.
Lips she didn’t hesitate to kiss. Softly at first, which only got more passionate and demanding with each second that went by, even as she savored the tongue that kept thrusting in between her lips, asking for more.
A deep groan echoed out into the open, only to discover a second too late that it came from her throat. She didn’t care as she rose from her chair, wrapping her arms around his neck, demanding more from the tall man who stood behind her with muscular arms that she was familiar with. They gently wrapped around her waist, pulling her close enough for her to feel his need for her.
It was at that moment that she finally pulled away.
"As much as I’d like you to fuck me here, that would be a very bad idea!" she said, aware of how risky it was that they had even shared a kiss in such a place. Regardless, she wasn’t too bothered about it.
Her father was still unaware of their relationship, but she was sure that even if he found out, he wouldn’t be completely against it because he loved her very much.
"...we also can’t go somewhere else!" she added, shaking her head even as she watched Drey lean closer to steal another kiss from her lips.
"We still have about an hour! We can talk or go somewhere nice and—" but she was still talking only to be cut off by the softness of his lips meeting hers in a more demanding manner. His hands slid to her thighs and underneath the gown she wore, with more pressure than before, as he whispered in her ear.
"...But I need you now!" A slight pleading tone lingered in his voice, even as Bella continued to refuse, playfully slapping his hands away as she lowered her gaze to straighten her gown and get off the table.
Too engrossed in what she was doing to notice that flash of anger in the gentle gaze that looked at her—a gaze that had gone as far as to glance up at a remote corner on the ceiling before settling back on her.
"Can I at least suck your breasts?" he asked with a heated gaze that made Bella’s cheeks redden as she pushed him away, shaking her head as she chuckled even harder, sure he was kidding, as she stood on her own feet.
"You always know how to put me in a better mood. What would I do without you?" she asked, a light smile on her face as she gazed into his with love and adoration, satisfied at what she saw there.
"Let’s go! We have an hour to ourselves before we have to return!" she said, pulling him toward the door. She recovered her calm before pushing the door open, even as they both acted as if they were nothing but lord and guard—and definitely nothing more!
