Mated to the Mad Lord-Chapter 291: A clear Message
Chapter 291: A clear Message
"I thought you’d prefer that I make it quick!" he continued to say with a mischievous expression on his face.
He had a smile along the edges of his lips, but that did nothing to cover up the cruelty in the depths of his eyes as he held her gaze.
"Vazer will find you, and when he does—" but Javi didn’t allow her to finish as he snatched the knife from the guard who was done wiping his face with his sleeve.
Stepping closer to her with the knife in his right hand as he spoke.
"...he knows where I am! But should you really bother yourself with the affairs of the living?" He asked in a low whisper even as he picked up her hand and twisted the knife into it.
Slashing diagonally as he tore off her index finger as easily as one would slice a piece of fruit.
Tears pooled in her eyes but she didn’t so much as make a sound, refusing to give Javi the pleasure of seeing her suffer.
But her defiance only excited him more than usual, his smile became much wilder as he stared at the spot where her finger should have been.
Bleeding badly enough for him to see nothing but blood.
Not seeing another reason to remain, with the finger in one hand and the bloody knife in the other, Javi turned around to leave.
Heading toward the door. He kept her alive for a reason - to keep Vazer in check. What better way than to send him pieces of her body every time he misbehaved.
’It would drive him mad!’ Javi thought to himself, relieved to realize that he would never have to worry about Vazer again once he saw the goddamn bloody finger.
But the guard by his side had just pulled the handle of the cage for him to go through it when Javi suddenly hesitated as he heard her speak from behind him.
Her voice etched with pain, shaking as she struggled to speak.
"You’re nothing but a dog!"
"...I swear! You’ll die like one!" She barked bitterly at him.
Her finger no longer bled as much but her entire arm had gone numb. She was a Red.
Not only had she not had a proper dose of blood in weeks, she was also being bled like a lab experiment.
There was only so much her body could take and even talking was almost more than she could handle.
As she cleared her throat and continued to mumble the same words over and over again under her breath.
If she could scream it she would...if she could curse at him she would have done it twice over.
"A fucking dog!! A dog! That’s what you are!"
At first the tension in the cell suddenly grew. Javi’s back was still turned to her but something had changed in the way he held himself.
Even the guard was wary as he hurriedly stepped back. A bad foreboding settled in the pit of his stomach as he backed away even more than before.
Javi jerked his head back, marching toward her the next second even as she continued to mumble under her breath without pause.
He had barely reached her when he raised his hand and slapped her on the face hard enough for the sound of her neck cracking to echo through the cell.
She was a Red. She wouldn’t die and he knew this even as he fixed his red eyes on her without looking elsewhere.
It was a ghastly sight as a sound that didn’t remotely sound human struggled to escape from her throat which had been crushed and bleeding from the blood dripping out of her mouth.
"You forget your place! A prisoner and nothing more!" Javi said to her with his eyes fixed on her, about to turn around and finally leave.
His sudden outburst of anger having already settled back in the pit of his stomach where it came from.
But he had barely turned back around to do so when he suddenly heard a strangled voice, his ears sharp enough to pick out the sound regardless of how terribly low the sound was produced.
A wretched sound came from her throat as she jerked her head to the side. It was painful but she had felt worse as she summoned all she had to say two more words.
"A dog!!! Dog!!!" chuckling in a ragged tone that sounded like her throat was filled with nothing but glass.
"Do—" but this time around, a split second barely passed before Javi reacted. Almost as if his body reacted faster than he himself wanted to.
He was a District Lord! Never had anyone disrespected him so openly and least of all his prisoner.
Raising his hand and grabbing her head in one smooth move as he pulled it off her neck.
A cruel dark smile on his face as he lifted and tore her head off her body even as he chuckled right back almost in a petty tone.
"You’re the dog!"
Walking straight out of the cell and out of the dungeon altogether with the bloody head in his hand, not caring that his clothes were tainted with the same blood.
He walked fast heading out of it, his destination was his office. The head was still conscious by itself even if a slight horror now clouded its gaze, its eyes fixed on Javi who paid it no attention as he headed straight to his office.
Toward the window, the second he entered after leaving a trail of blood in his wake as he moved to place the head right against the window after pushing it wide open.
The skies were still dark and it would still take a couple of hours before dawn but Javi didn’t care as he went ahead to place the bloody head with the pained expression on the windowsill.
"Yes, you can survive if I place you back with your body in the earth!" Javi said since it was possible as long as her non-beating heart was still intact in her chest.
But his smile only became much crueler the longer he spoke in a jovial tone.
"But why should I?" he asked even as he signaled to the guard who continued to stand by the door waiting for further instructions.
"Preserve her body! But once the sun comes up...dice her head into bits and toss it to the dogs!" he ordered, his gaze not once leaving her eyes even as he marveled at the expression of despair that could be seen there.
’You’re not indispensable!’ he thought with a smug expression on his face as he turned around and left, intent on taking care of Cain and sending Vazer a clear message with the bloody finger in his hand.
