Mated to the Mad Lord-Chapter 292: Accuse You?
Chapter 292: Accuse You?
"Lord Cain!" Henry said just as he moved to open the doors of the small plane. His voice laced with worry and anxiety that he couldn’t hide.
"I can still send for a couple more men!" he said even after he had hinted at it multiple times over the course of their journey.
They were in Javi’s district and it wasn’t a secret how deeply the hatred between Reds and Werewolves ran especially after the war.
He had a firearm with him and a wooden stake in his holster but those motherfuckers were hard to kill.
Worse, they always kept getting up.
’Even if you’re just going to talk to him shouldn’t you at least consider that we might not make it back,’ he grumbled deep within his mind, aware that Cain was strong enough to protect himself while the few men that followed him might not be.
"You sound scared Henry!" Cain responded as he moved to climb down before Henry could step in front of him and make sure that the area was safe.
"Never! My Lord!" Henry responded lying blatantly through his teeth. His face saying one thing while his eyes said another.
Cain would have found the entire thing comical if not for the raging headache in his skull as he kept reaching for his forehead and massaging it with his fingers while hoping for some relief.
He was a Werewolf and getting sick wasn’t something that happened to them which meant that whatever was causing his headache wasn’t something he could afford to sneer at.
"We should hurry! I want to get back home by dawn!" Cain said cutting Henry off who had been about to suggest that they should wait until dawn before they went ahead with their plan.
Henry solemnly nodded his head even as he headed down behind Cain, gesturing to the couple of guards that came with them to follow closely.
But they had barely gotten down and moved to the cars they had ordered to pick them up when Henry felt multiple eyes looking in their direction.
His heart skipping a beat, as he realized that the number wasn’t in the slightest bit small.
Glancing at Cain who looked completely at peace almost like he was unaware of anything - something that was impossible since his senses were way better than Henry’s were.
Henry didn’t try to start up a conversation as they all got into the three cars that were parked there, filling them up as the drivers began to drive towards the destination they were given.
Henry looked wary his eyes darting everywhere possible looking for the slightest trace of a threat. But Cain simply stared at the driver for a second longer than normal before turning his gaze away to stare out the window. frёewebηovel.cѳm
"He stinks!" Cain mumbled under his breath, a light daze in his eyes that showed that his mind had moved elsewhere but Henry’s attention only became much more focused.
Fixing his gaze on the driver even as he sniffed and sniffed, not caring how loud or weird he seemed trying to pick up whatever scent Cain had picked up only to fail. Miserably.
It wasn’t until a full minute later and he got no results that he finally gave up. Glancing at Cain who seemed lost in thought even as he massaged his forehead. A habit that worried Henry coupled with the slight crease of pain he could see on Cain’s face.
Cain had only just recovered and Henry was aware of this something that worried him since it was clear that he was in pain something that shouldn’t be.
’Relax! Relax! All will be well!" he said to himself over and over again trying to calm his heartbeat.
Everything went well until the car came to a full stop in front of the gates that could only have belonged to one person.
Lord Javi! But that wasn’t what made Henry’s heart skip a beat. It was the sight of the guards that lined up in front of it and along the sides of it that terrified him to the very core.
Controlling his face until no hint of his anxiety could be found as he went ahead to step out along with the other guards moving to stand by Cain as he pulled the car door open for him.
Cain had just gotten out when the rows of guards with red bloody eyes and sneers on their face like they had perceived something disgusting, slowly parted to reveal Javi who wore a black shirt and clothes which matched his raven black hair.
His red eyes glowing with mischief as he held an envelope in his hand stained with blood.
"Cain!" he called out in an excited and slightly surprised tone one would use for a friend who had decided to visit without warning.
"To what do I owe the pleasure of your company! I would invite you in but, inside is quite messy right now!"
"**...**you know what I mean.." he chuckled with no hint that a few hours prior they had been fighting to the death with intent to kill.
"Lord Javi! I was just curious to know if you had anything to do with Vazer’s missing sister!" Cain asked outright not seeing a need to beat around the bush even as Lord Javi instantly released a loud and sudden sigh, placing his hands on his chest with an aghast expression on his face.
"His sister!!! Why ever would I do that? I can’t stand being accused!" he spoke in a shocked and astonished tone.
"Lord Vazer is my fellow Lord. It’s public knowledge that the Werewolves who killed Magnus killed his family!"
His voice became colder as his expression changed to a very displeased one.
"Isn’t it rude for a Werewolf lord to come here and accuse me in my own district of something I didn’t do?" he asked his voice much louder than before even as he took a step forward.
The guards around him doing the same with the same fierce look on their face.
Henry wasn’t found wanting as he glared right back prepared to use the gun the second any of them including Lord Javi gave him a reason to.
He might die a second later but he didn’t care, as long as he did his due diligence.
"Accuse you? I only asked you a simple question?" Cain responded with both his hands stuck into his pockets as he stood there with ease almost like he had all the time in the world.
While Lord Javi’s attention and that of his guards were there by the front gate with Cain, Vazer was sneaking in through the back having transformed into a guard and looking nothing like himself.
