Chapter 295: Lightening Speed

"If you’re here looking for a fight, then that can be arranged!" Javi continued with a relaxed expression on his face, even though he felt otherwise.

He had drunk blood, and he could feel his body recovering, but it wasn’t to the extent that he would be able to fight Cain and survive.

He even had a gnawing feeling deep within his bones that even if he hadn’t been injured and, together with his guards, he still wouldn’t be able to go against Cain.

"Coming here to accuse me is clearly a form of disrespect!" he continued, straightening his shoulders, refusing to back down or show weakness, even if all he wanted to do was run.

The man was a monster. He had fought against him and all the Vampire Lords to a standstill. If he actually wanted to fight, Javi was aware that he wouldn’t be able to survive.

"Really? I asked a simple question, though," Cain responded with a shrug of his shoulders. Javi looked calm, and although he couldn’t read his heartbeat because he was a vampire, Cain was still conscious that there was no way Javi wasn’t scared of him.

Something Cain would have instantly taken advantage of if not for the raging, massive headache steadily hammering through his skull.

It was heavy and immense, and the longer it went on for, the more worried Cain became as he pressed both hands deep into his pockets to prevent himself from massaging his forehead, even as a deep frown creased over his face.

"If you are confident that it has nothing to do with you, then you’ll have no issues with me checking your mansion?" Cain continued, and Javi instantly let out a light chuckle, even as his eyes blazed with unhidden malice.

"You want to check my mansion? You should have written a letter first!" Javi pointed out, raising his right hand a second later and snapping it.

A clear signal of something that Cain didn’t take long to figure out as he looked up to see, high up on the wall, a massive gun that was suddenly flooded with light, almost like Javi desperately wanted him to admire it first before he used it.

At that point, Javi was done playing around, and as he spoke again, his gaze fixed on Cain with a stony expression on his face.

"I’ve entertained you long enough! I think you should leave!" Javi said, his voice louder and more authoritative, which impressed the guards around him, who had been a bit worried, having heard crazy stories about Cain.

Cain, on the other hand, simply looked amused as he stared at Javi, who fixed his gaze unflinchingly back at him.

"What? You’ll shoot me with that toy gun if I refuse?" Cain playfully asked, even as Henry, who stood beside him, did his best to harden his expression even more than before, even as his hands shook a little.

That gun was definitely not a toy, and if fired, not only would they be affected and heavily wounded, but Henry didn’t doubt that the vampires would also be affected—which meant only one thing.

The bullets had been coated in silver, which was poisonous to werewolves and did next to nothing to the Reds.

At first, Javi didn’t know how to respond, seeing as if he went ahead and pushed too far, Cain might simply go ahead and return the favor.

It didn’t help that Cain didn’t look the slightest like he was in pain or still recovering from the injuries they’d given him in the previous fight.

Still, Javi was just about to bite the bullet and simply agree that he would indeed shoot Cain, aware that the gun was powerful enough to stall Cain long enough for him to escape if it came to it, when unexpectedly a strange whistling sound suddenly echoed from behind him and within the mansion.

Javi would have thought nothing more of it if not that that same exact sound was the signal for when an intruder had invaded the mansion and his men were trying to smoke the person out.

His eyes darted straight to Cain’s own, who looked completely unbothered, almost like he couldn’t care less, to see the anger that flared up within Javi’s gaze.

"You sent people in to search my house!" he spat at him, his body trembling in a way that showed he would like nothing more than to lash out and attack in fury.

His anger doubled in seconds when Cain simply smirked with the same light shrug he had given before.

"Are you accusing me just because I came visiting?" Cain asked, even as Javi’s already red eyes burned redder than before as he turned around, speaking to all the guards there at the same time.

More than 80% of the total guards he had in his mansion at that time stood by the gate, surrounding him.

"If they so much as try to attack, shoot them all down with the guns," he instructed, even as he turned around to leave, intent on finding the intruder himself and taking him out.

He had a nagging feeling of who the person might be but chose to ignore it as he ordered the guards to push open the gates for him to walk in.

But he had just taken a few steps when he heard Cain speak to him again, clearly with no intention of leaving yet. But this time around, saying words that surprised him to the core.

"How about instead of working with my uncle, you work with me instead? I’m clearly more powerful than him!" Cain said, words that shocked him, but which Javi made sure not to reveal on his face.

Turning around to look at Cain like he was mad to be saying such a ridiculous thing, not even considering the idea, considering how easily he would be killed if such a rumor of him colliding with werewolves were ever revealed to be true.

"Crazy!!!" he snapped at Cain before turning around and hurrying away, no longer paying attention to Cain as he hastened his footsteps.

Cain’s last statement to rope him back into a conversation by saying words he couldn’t be sure were facts was enough for Javi to realize that whosoever was inside his mansion was colluding with Cain to stall him.

’For your sake, Vazer... I hope you’re not stupid enough to cross me!’ The bloody envelope was still in his hand as he dashed into his mansion with lightning speed.
