Chapter 19: This is how I'm going to die...

Outside the boss's lair, David, Richard, and Cristina were sitting, regaining their strength and waiting for the lead monster to finish off Erik and Violet.

"David, how long do you think we should keep before we go in?" inquired Richard, visibly in a hurry as he fiddled with his sword and examined the wall.

"Not long, didn't you sense all that shaking? Something's going on. Stay calm," David replied with a smile. He longed for the moment to go inside and ransack the objects, but...

'It's a shame he can't enjoy that mage's body' thought David with a bit of sadness, but a sacrifice he was making, since the gains were greater than raping that woman, though.

'If I rape from her lifeless body, it wouldn't be strange would it, since her body will still be warm, and I could enjoy it right?'

A smile appeared on David's face at this thought, since the woman would be dead, then they don't count as rape, do they?

He just wants to enjoy the woman's body and nothing else and it is not that he is a necrophiliac. He just wants to enjoy the woman's body and that's it, no strange thoughts.

'If I'm not a necrophiliac since the body will still be hot'.

David was trying to convince himself that what he was thinking was nothing strange, although in reality, what he was thinking was quite questionable, not to say strange.

'Well now we just have to wait for them to die, I just hope the monster leaves Violet's body intact'.

....

Erik was spinning his spear at high speed, creating a gust of wind to dispel the smog and prevent it from reaching them. However, at that precise moment, the spider moved with such force that it broke the chains restricting its mobility.

"KYYYYYyeee!!!!!"

Screamed the enraged spider. Its eight bloodshot eyes were fixed squarely on Erik, who felt a shudder at its gaze.

'She looks pretty angry, but the ability only lasts fifty seconds,' Erik thought as a cold sweat broke out on his forehead and back as he watched the spider break the chains. He hadn't expected the ability to last so short, though he wished it had lasted longer.

"Well, how do we deal with this now?" muttered Erik, adopting a defensive stance. His expression grew increasingly serious.

The spider, filled with hatred, lunged with surprising speed and in the blink of an eye was in front of Erik. With one of its legs, it launched a powerful attack.

'Damn it!'

Erik, his face showing a complicated expression at the sight of the towering four-and-a-half-meter spider in front of him. It gave off a heavy pressure that made it difficult for him to move, but he managed to dodge the attack.

Boom!

Erik jumped to the side, narrowly dodging the spider's attack, and the whole place shook due to the arachnid's powerful blows. However, the attack didn't end there; The spider spat acid towards Erik.

'Oh no, shit!'

Erik as he jumped to the side, narrowly dodging the acid. Rolling on the ground and getting to his feet, he braced himself for the next attack from the spider that was already in front of him, launching another onslaught with its legs.

Erik moved quickly, but failed to completely dodge the blow. His right arm shot upward, leaving a thin trail of blood in the air.

"Ahhhh!"

Erik let out a choked cry of pain as he felt the intense sting in his left arm. The spider persisted in its assault, but Erik, despite the pain, lunged to the side, dodging the next attack leaving blood all over the ground.

Boom!

The spider's attacks did not cease. Erik continued to dodge them, jumping from side to side, while his 'Wild Regeneration' ability worked on recovering his arm, which had been severed by the spider's attack.

"I gasped... gasped how much... time had passed..."

Erik muttered between groans and looked back. Violet was still focused on the magic circle, which was quite wide.

At that precise moment, Erik noticed that the spider had taken advantage of his carelessness and launched a quick attack.

Swoosh!

"Kyyyeeeee!!!!"

The spider's attack was so fast that it created friction in the air. Hearing the sound of the wind, Erik saw the attack come within inches of his head. Noticing this, he took a small step backward, and the spider's leg went all the way through him.

"Puaj..."

Erik let out a mouthful of blood on the spider's leg, his expression darkening. At the same time, however, his body began to regenerate. The spider withdrew its leg and Erik fell to the ground, his gaze lost in the ceiling and blood continuing to pour from his two wounds.

'This is how I'm going to die...' thought Erik as his vision slowly dimmed and the gleams in his eyes slowly faded. However, from deep within him, End Energy began to cover his missing parts.

"Hey, damn spider, where do you think you're going?" shouted Erik with his left arm made of End Energy, just like the gaping hole in the center of his body.

"Kyyyyeee!!!?"

The spider looked up at him in surprise to see Erik standing, though he looked completely haggard. It lunged towards him, determined to finish him off once and for all.

But Erik raised his left arm and swung it down, creating a thin line on the ground. The spider, seeing this, sensed imminent danger and jumped to the side without a second thought.

The moment Erik swung his left arm, reality split in two and returned to normal. The whole place was split by a line that obliterated everything in front of him.

Erik fell back to the ground, his consciousness fading. Blood gushed from his left arm, spreading across the floor of the cave. In the center of his body, blood also emanated, staining the floor.

At that instant, Violet opened her eyes. Above the magic circle was an imposing ice spear, radiating immense power throughout the place. She looked around for Erik, but he was nowhere to be found.

'Has he abandoned me too?'

Was the first thought that crossed Violet's mind as she found no trace of Erik. However, as she looked down, she saw Erik's body lying on the ground. His left arm was missing, from which blood was still flowing, and he had a deep hole in the center of his body that was also leaking blood.

Violet panicked at the sight of Erik's condition and the spell she had spent so much time on was almost canceled because she lost her concentration for a second.

'Shit, what do I do now? If I launch the attack, he might get hit.'

Violet didn't know what to do right now; doubts filled her mind as she tried to maintain the spell. However, she focused on Erik's body, which was slowly regenerating, which surprised her.

But she also noticed that the spider was approaching where Erik was. She hesitated for a moment but shook her head to push those thoughts away.

"[Glacial Spear Icy Fragor]," Violet exclaimed, hurling the massive ice spear towards the spider examining Erik's body.

Swoosh!

The spear flew through the air at breakneck speed, generating friction in its wake. In an instant, she was within striking distance of the spider.

The spider, alerted by its instincts to the danger at its back, turned its hulking body...

BOOOM! RUMBLE!

A powerful explosion rumbled through the boss's lair, followed by a loud tremor that shook the whole place. Large stones from the ceiling began to collapse, crushing the monsters entangled in the cobwebs. The place seemed to be on the verge of collapse due to the powerful spell Violet had conjured.

Swoosh!

A few seconds passed and the dense cloud of toxic dust began to dissipate. Violet ran to where Erik's body lay. At the sight of him, tears welled up in her eyes, mourning his death.

"Why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why?" she murmured through tears, hugging Erik's body tightly, even though his body was regenerating.

Violet cried like a little girl, feeling that if she were a little stronger, she could have avoided this outcome. She looked down at the huge spider lying completely mangled on the wall, creating a large pool of green blood on the floor.

....

Once again out of the boss's lair, after the tremors had stopped, they were quite surprised. They had not expected to hold out so long against the boss monster. Even Richard was almost hit by Erik's last attack, which split reality in two.

"Did they survive?" asked Christina, breaking out in a cold sweat as she looked at the defined line that was very close to them. Everything they saw had faded from existence.

"I'm not sure," David replied. He was no longer as sure as he had been a few minutes before. He looked at the line beside him and his body visibly shivered, as a cold sweat trickled down his forehead.

"Maybe they are already dead, if they had survived they would have left the place," Richard commented, still shaking and affected by the attack that almost reached him. He might not be in this world.

"You're right, let's go in," David said with a little more confidence. He stood up and concentrated all his magical power on his shield to knock down the entrance, then launched himself towards the wall.

Boom!

The whole wall flew off and began to nervously enter the boss's lair. When they entered, their mouths dropped open. The whole place was full of craters everywhere, with lots of rocks strewn about and toxic puddles could also be seen.

They looked at all this while swallowing saliva with difficulty. Then, they rested their eyes on Violet, who was still crying, hugging Erik's body tightly. On her face was a big smile as she saw this.

This was the chance to finish them both off and get all the rewards!
