No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother-Chapter 48 - 46: Neither This nor That
Chapter 48: Chapter 46: Neither This nor That
In the classroom, Maya Spencer lazily lay on the desk, motionless, the pain in her body had not diminished in the slightest, but instead, it grew more severe. She felt dizzy and her head was about to explode.
However, the students in the class had already started training, preparing for exams, only her condition was completely out of place.
Ella Turner looked at her worriedly, pulled up a chair, leaned on her desk, and fiddled with her hair asking, "Maya, what’s wrong? Not feeling well?"
"Yeah!"
"Has something happened? Can you tell me?" The girl lovingly stroked Maya’s little face, wishing she could share her pain.
"Today is my birthday."
"Ah! Birthday! Maya, happy birthday! I’ll treat you to lunch outside and we’ll have something delicious." Upon hearing it was Maya’s birthday, Ella was very excited.
"It’s also my mother’s death anniversary."
Suddenly, Ella became quiet, not saying a word, only feeling intense pain in her heart. Others have joyful birthdays, but Maya has to face such heavy matters, no wonder she’s in a bad mood.
She spread her arms gently to hug her, hoping her warmth would comfort her and ease her suffering.
"Thank you, Ella!"
Maya didn’t speak about her experiences last night. She didn’t dare to speak, nor did she feel comfortable doing so. How could she possibly talk about such matters? She had relations with her brother, and nothing could be harder to speak about in the world.
Moreover, she was suspected of drugging her brother.
Ha! Thinking about it, Maya laughed coldly. In the end, she did something worse than her mother. Does she really have that streak in her bones? A streak that makes others look down on her!
Even though Maya was very unwilling to believe this matter, whenever she recalled Liam Spencer’s disdain, she couldn’t deny it.
Though she was the one hurt, she couldn’t express her reasoning, even jumping into the Nile River wouldn’t prove her innocence.
"Ella, can I go back to the dorm to rest?"
"Yeah! Your bed is still there, you can also sleep in mine."
"Thank you!"
"I’ll call you for the exam later."
"No need, I can’t take it."
For the physical test, they needed to wear short clothes and shorts. Her body, how could she show it to people? It was only better to hide.
"Yeah, I’ll tell the teacher, don’t worry, you can take a makeup exam."
"Yeah!" Maya agreed and took the keys to go back to the dorm.
Being alone in the dorm gave her peace, but also made her feel more lifeless, her life was devoid of any sunshine.
She really wanted to forget about the events of last night, but being alone made her unable to forget.
Fortunately, due to exhaustion, she gradually fell asleep.
In her dreams, she dreamt her mother hadn’t passed away, she hadn’t gone to the Spencer Family, even though at that time they were looked down upon, yet they were happy and joyful.
Meanwhile, on the sports field, Ella grabbed the class teacher’s arm and explained frantically, "Teacher, Maya is really unwell, it’s serious, she’s not deliberately skipping the exam."
"Ella, you’re a good student, don’t hang out with such wayward people."
"Teacher, really."
Ella thought about how the teacher was going to bring Maya over to take the test, her heart ached, so she desperately held onto her, stopping her, like a clown being laughed at by classmates.
She didn’t mention today was Maya’s mother’s death anniversary; it’s Maya’s privacy, without her permission, she wouldn’t say it, but she would also go all out to prevent the teacher from dragging Maya to the exam.
In the principal’s office, Liam Spencer watched the commotion on the sports field, took a deep breath, he spent a full hour at the window watching the crowd from Maya’s class, but never saw her figure, thinking about what happened last night, he still felt very uncomfortable, as though he suffered more than Maya.
"BOSS, I’m back!!" Elijah Reed suddenly came in, startling Liam.
He turned around, frowned, and rebuked, "You went on a business trip, yet you won’t even knock on the door?"
"BOSS, the door was open, and I did knock, you just didn’t hear."
"How’s it going with Asher over there."
"BOSS, don’t worry! Young Master Norton is very capable."
"Yeah!" Liam responded perfunctorily and continued watching the sports field.
Elijah saw Liam engrossed in watching the sports field and hurriedly stood beside him, following his gaze, realizing BOSS was watching the school’s physical exam.
Elijah watched for a long time but didn’t see Maya’s shadow, instead saw her friend tangled with the teacher.
So, he furrowed his brows and asked, "BOSS, where’s Miss Maya? Why isn’t she at the exam?"
Hearing the words Miss Maya, Liam took a deep breath, then exhaled deeply, and said to Elijah, "Go down and see what’s going on with Ella."
"Yes, BOSS!!"
Elijah was curious why he hadn’t seen Maya, so he hurried down.
A moment later, Liam’s phone rang, it was Elijah calling. He said, "BOSS, Miss Maya is sick, she’s resting in the dorm. The teacher doesn’t believe, insisting on pulling her out to take the test, BOSS, can I intervene in this matter?"
Elijah had been criticized several times for meddling in Maya’s affairs, so he dared not act rashly anymore. Therefore, concerning Maya, he would definitely apply for permission before taking any action.
Listening to Elijah’s report, Liam paused briefly, his mind flashed with images of Maya covered in bruises, thinking of his own handiwork, he said, "She doesn’t need to take the test."
"Yes, BOSS!!"
After hanging up the phone, Liam returned to his desk, no longer watching the sports field, as that unpleasant figure wouldn’t appear again.
He took another deep breath, muttering to himself: Maya, you’d better not appear before me.
Clearly not wanting to see her anymore, clearly despising her so much, yet involuntarily concerned about her, wanting to know what schemes she’s planning, what conspiracy she’s plotting, how she’ll deal with him?
Based on his speculation, Maya wouldn’t easily give up, she hadn’t yet benefited from him, nor had she helped grandpa gain any advantage, so how could she let go easily?
Thinking that his warnings to her over and over again were ineffective, considering she still took the final step, he tightly gripped his ceramic teacup, crushing it.
Looking at the shattered teacup in his hand, the image of him strangling Maya flashed through his mind.
This morning, if he had used a little force like he did now, she would be dead. Yet why didn’t he? Why didn’t he choke her to death?
...
On the sports field, Elijah stopped the teacher from pulling Maya out for the exam and took Ella to the dorm.
He thought Liam let the girl skip the exam and care for her health, so he self-indulgently went to see Maya, to check if she needed help, moreover, these siblings’ relationship had been quite good recently.
