Chapter 603 - 602: The Crimson Bomb

Cain stood to the side, coldly watching as Regi and Ren worked together to eliminate their opponents one by one, leaving them no chance to resist.

All of this was due to the overwhelming power of that Nidoking.

Pokémon: Nidoking (Light Blue)

Gender: Male

Level: 55

Type: Poison + Ground

Ability: Poison Point

Held Item: None

Egg Moves: Take Down, Sucker Punch, Poison Tail, Venom Drench

TM Moves: Protect, Toxic, Venoshock, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Earthquake, Flamethrower

Under Regi's command, Nidoking, with its incredible power and vast array of moves, could choose the perfect attack for each opponent.

However, it was clear that this Nidoking didn't originally belong to Regi. While it followed Regi's orders, its responses were a bit slow, and it didn't show genuine respect for him.

This quasi-elite Nidoking wasn't part of Regi's personal team.

Even so, Nidoking was immensely powerful.

Cain had extensive knowledge about Nidoking; although its defenses weren't the best, Nidoking possessed a rare ability that, combined with its capacity to learn many moves, could make its offensive power explosive.

That ability was Sheer Force, which eliminates the secondary effects of some moves but boosts their power.

If combined with a Life Orb, a Nidoking with Sheer Force would have truly devastating attack potential.

This Nidoking was just an ordinary quasi-elite-level Nidoking—powerful, but not as impressive when compared to the might of Altaria.

Cain had once considered seeking out a Nidoking or Nidoqueen with the Sheer Force ability. With proper training and investment in learning moves, it could become the star of his team and adapt to any lineup. In one-on-one battles, its power would be even greater.

Unfortunately, Cain had only ever come across one Nidoran with the Sheer Force ability, but its quality was mediocre and didn't meet Cain's standards.

As he observed the unstoppable Nidoking and other Pokémon like Ren's Flygon, it was evident that their opponents felt powerless against them.

Their fate had been sealed from the start.

In just half an hour, everyone lay on the ground, alongside their Pokémon.

At the center of the room was a blood-red piece of wood, carved with strange symbols and covered with peculiar adhesives. Thin red veins slowly converged on its surface.

It was undeniable that Team Rocket's scientists were truly remarkable in their unconventional research.

The Pokémon League's researchers were far more upright, and their studies always followed traditional paths.

For this reason, scientists who explored less conventional fields couldn't fully develop their skills, but Giovanni's charisma and openness attracted many unique researchers.

Team Rocket's successful development was largely thanks to the efforts of these scientists.

After all, they had achieved breakthroughs like creating Mewtwo from the DNA of Mew, a top-tier legendary Pokémon.

Regi's playful attitude had disappeared, replaced by an icy coldness. He didn't react to the deaths they had caused, looking at the others as if they were mere ants.

He approached and picked up the wooden piece from the ground.

"What do you think? Is it enough?" Ren asked, standing beside Regi.

"It's still not enough," Regi replied, studying the patterns carved into the wood. The red vein hadn't fully aligned yet.

"Damn it, when two of our men disappeared earlier, I told you we should go after them. But you said it didn't matter, that it would be enough. And now we're short!"

"What are we going to do? We've already taken out all the strong wild Pokémon in the forest over the past few days, and we're running out of time," Ren said angrily.

As a dragon-type Pokémon trainer, Ren wasn't calm like Lance; his temperament resembled that of ancient dragons—short-tempered and fierce.

He had managed to stay composed only because exploring the ruins had helped him control his impatience.

Regi glanced at Ren, who was on the verge of losing it, but said nothing.

Although the others didn't know Ren's origins, Regi had some insight.

Technically, Ren wasn't entirely human, as he was the product of Team Rocket's experiments on merging human and Pokémon genes.

There had been a Team Rocket project on fusing Pokémon blood with humans. Although Giovanni had quickly shut it down, it left behind one result.

That result was Ren, who had a minimal amount of dragon-type Pokémon blood.

This was why some mixed-blood dragons or dragon descendants felt a kinship with him, though pure dragons rejected him.

This had led him to specialize in dragon-type Pokémon.

"Those two weren't ordinary. By leaving us, they made it easier for us to finish here. If they had stayed, things would've been much more complicated," Regi said calmly.

The image of Cain and Aurelia crossed his mind.

Especially Cain, whom Regi couldn't quite figure out.

At the pre-landing meeting, under Glacius's observation, the conclusion was "promising," indicating that Cain possessed exceptional qualities.

For Glacius to make such a statement was rare, as he also harbored many secrets that only Regi knew.

In any case, Regi felt somewhat relieved not to have to worry about Cain following them.

"What do we do now? Do we need to go further to collect energy? The island's strong Pokémon have already started to notice our presence," Ren asked.

"It's simple," Regi replied.

He pulled out a knife and ended the life of one of the men beside Ren.

The man clutched his neck, staring at Regi, clearly unable to comprehend why he had done it.

As if on command, Regi's Pokémon eliminated the man's Pokémon as well.

Already exhausted, they couldn't withstand the surprise attack from Regi's Pokémon.

Ren watched Regi but said nothing more. After all, the man was useless, and it was fine to kill him.

His eyes focused on the red wood in Regi's hands, watching as the veins aligned.

Gradually, all the lines connected.

The Crimson Bomb, completed!
