Chapter 614 - 613: Slowking's Contact with Quasi-Purple Quality

The aura emanating from Slowking finally began to subside.

Plop!

Suddenly, Slowking collapsed heavily to the ground, sitting and breathing heavily, showing clear signs of exhaustion. At first glance, it seemed the situation had stabilized.

In reality, this usage method had been analyzed by Cain's system.

According to the analysis, with Slowking's current capabilities, it should have been able to handle the strain. That's why Cain decided to attempt this risky experiment. However, he didn't expect the process to be so intense, exceeding his calculations and expectations.

Concerned, Cain quickly approached while the other Pokémon gathered around.

"Slowking, how are you feeling?" Cain asked as he touched the Pokémon's forehead, noticing it still retained its characteristic coolness.

With a slight nod, Slowking signaled that it was okay, though it was visibly drained of energy.

Now Slowking understood exactly what Cain had felt during that turbulent experience.

The use of the strand imbued with Mew's blood was similar to Larvitar carrying a special backpack: it wasn't fully absorbed into the body but remained attached, causing gradual and subtle changes in the bearer.

However, the initial contact with Mew's blood was much more intense than with the Fragment of Groudon's armor.

Perhaps, Cain reflected, this difference was also because Groudon's armor had been used before, reducing its initial impact.

In hindsight, Cain's decision was a bit rash, but the result was astounding. Thanks to Mew's blood, Slowking had significantly improved its control over its psychic abilities.

Now Cain was certain that Slowking had mastery surpassing many purely psychic Pokémon.

Curious about his Pokémon's current state, Cain used his system to scan Slowking.

Quasi-Purple!

Slowking had withstood the impact of Mew's blood, elevating its quality to what is known as "Quasi-Purple." This was the first time Cain had seen such a quality.

Previously, Gengar had reached a quality close to blue before advancing to light blue, and something similar had occurred here: an intermediate stage between dark blue and light purple.

This "Quasi-Purple" state indicated that Slowking was very close to reaching true light-purple quality. Based on Cain's observations, after a stabilization period, Slowking would likely naturally advance to light-purple quality.

Although, since this was only the second time Cain had witnessed such a transformation, he wasn't entirely sure how to proceed. Even so, there was no doubt that Slowking had brushed against the threshold of purple quality.

This event marked an important milestone for Cain's team: Slowking had become the first Pokémon to get so close to purple quality.

As with the gap between green and blue quality, the difference between blue and purple quality was immense.

Only Pokémon with purple quality had a realistic chance of reaching Champion level. Those that remained in blue—even dark blue—rarely achieved such feats without an overwhelming amount of resources and a good deal of luck.

With Slowking in the "Quasi-Purple" range, Cain felt that a new door had opened for his team. Mew's blood, though not completely absorbed, would continue slowly enhancing Slowking's psychic abilities, increasing its power and potential.

Cain was no longer concerned about Slowking's psychic aspect; he only hoped its connection to Water-type energy wouldn't hinder its progress toward light-purple quality.

For now, however, Slowking remained "Quasi-Purple." Cain had managed to extract the full potential of that magical strand imbued with traces of Mew's blood.

Additionally, Slowking's level had increased, albeit modestly. The true breakthrough wasn't its level but the qualitative change in its quality.

After some rest, Slowking finally began recovering fully from its exhaustion. When it stood, Cain noticed something curious... was it possible that Slowking had gained weight? Or rather, more muscle?

Laughing, Cain patted Slowking on the shoulder, feeling satisfied and proud. Despite the risks, Slowking had overcome the challenge.

"Yadon!" Slowking exclaimed excitedly, raising its arm and flexing its bicep as a sign of victory. Its expression was one of pure happiness.

The gesture was so unexpected that Cain and the rest of the Pokémon couldn't help but burst into laughter.

Slowking's improvement was a great benefit for the entire team. Drapion, watching closely, began to think that with his "big brother's" growing power, perhaps he would have more opportunities to enter combat in the future.

He wasted no time and dragged Slowking to a corner to discuss strategies. Cain, watching the scene, couldn't help but smile.

With this matter resolved, Cain began preparing breakfast for everyone. There were still three days left before Team Rocket picked them up to leave Mythical Island, and the place was still a source of valuable resources.

Some extremely powerful Pokémon lived on the island, such as a Venusaur of elite level that ruled the forest in the southwest of the island. That Pokémon was a true force of nature, much stronger than the Altaria Cain had encountered earlier.

Venusaur was one of the high-ranking Pokémon that Cain preferred to avoid, as facing them would be far too dangerous.

These powerful Pokémon were the true guardians of the island's most precious resources. Although Cain and his team had gathered some treasures, they had only taken what the guardians allowed.

The truly valuable resources were still out of reach, in lands dominated by these colossi.

But that didn't worry him. Cain had already collected enough riches to feel satisfied. Any other loot he would leave for when Team Rocket arrived.

Cain had no intention of revealing what he had discovered about the three legendary pillars in Mew's ruins. He would let other Team Rocket members deal with them if necessary, while he kept his own secret.

Though the whereabouts of the missing Regi still intrigued him, Cain decided to set that mystery aside for now.
