Pokémon: Chronicles of Freedom-Chapter 655 - 654: Bagon’s Shadow
Chapter 655 - 654: Bagon's Shadow
Inside Meteor Falls, it's easy to lose track of time.
Moreover, since they had been in constant battle, time flew by.
But it had been a very fruitful experience.
When Cain exited Meteor Falls, a large full moon was already hanging in the sky.
Cain hadn't been in the cave for just a day; in fact, three days had passed.
On the first day, he found and captured Bagon, and the next two days were spent entirely sweeping through groups of Solrock and Lunatone.
Not only that, but his Pokémon's levels also increased significantly.
All the Pokémon actively participated in battles, leading to very balanced growth.
Of course, this was also because his Pokémon had been holding back for over a month, so upon finding enemies, they practically fought each other to take part in the battles.
Additionally, since Honchkrow, Weavile, and Drapion are Dark-types, they are completely immune to the Psychic-type moves of Solrock and Lunatone, allowing them to fight very aggressively.
This left Bagon, walking at Cain's feet, looking up to his teammates with admiration in his eyes.
He used to be bullied by these enemies and couldn't defend himself, but now he watched Drapion and the others defeat them as if facing small children, taking them down in a single blow.
Even Floette, when shifting into her Grass-type form, became a solid offensive force. Cain was already considering buying some good Grass-type moves to further improve her offensive capabilities.
The small body of Floette contains immense energy.
And Slowking, with its sturdy physique, also harbors infinite power.
Ahem...
In summary, Cain's Pokémon had improved their levels and skills.
Slowking leveled up, reaching Level 48, edging closer to quasi-elite status.
Honchkrow, Weavile, and Drapion, the wild trio, stormed through the Solrock and Lunatone groups as a well-coordinated team, each gaining two levels, reaching Level 46.
Gengar, acting as an open-fire turret, displayed impressive offensive capabilities. Free from the need to defend, it continuously launched Shadow Ball attacks, gaining two levels and reaching Level 46 as well.
Finally, Floette, despite focusing on healing and support, also gained two levels, reaching Level 42.
At this point, Floette had already reached the level necessary to evolve. All that remained was for Cain to obtain a Shiny Stone, allowing her to complete her evolution.
However, Floette's quality was still dark green. If Cain wanted her to keep up with his other Pokémon, he needed to find a Supreme-quality Shiny Stone.
Now Cain had become more ambitious. He was no longer content with Superior-quality stones; if he couldn't find a Supreme-quality one, he'd prefer for Floette to stay in her current form, where she could serve as an excellent protector.
In addition to his Pokémon's level improvements, Cain also gathered a good amount of Stardust. While each Pokémon had only a little, collecting it from all of them amounted to a considerable quantity.
It was enough for Cain to craft three or four accessories.
Now, regarding Mega Evolution, Cain had everything ready. He only lacked a suitable Mega Stone and a compatible Pokémon.
Upon exiting Meteor Falls, Mismagius returned to Cain's shadow. This time, after being out for so long, she seemed to have understood what battling was all about.
Probably wanting to set a good example for Bagon, Mismagius quietly asked Cain if she could join the training and, if possible, have a proper training plan designed for her.
Cain, of course, was delighted to oblige.
That Mismagius wanted to join battles was excellent news. Regardless of how much strength she could show, as an elite-level Pokémon, her participation in battles would be a great help to Cain.
Meanwhile, Bagon had finally overcome its fear of Solrock and Lunatone.
In his previous life, even after evolving into Salamence, Cain discovered that Salamence had a deep fear of these Pokémon. While it could fight them, it could never fully exert its power.
Fortunately, in his previous life, his enemies never realized this to take advantage.
This fear had formed in Bagon during its time living under the shadow of these Pokémon, and its body expressed it unconsciously.
Knowing this, Cain decided to take the opportunity, while Bagon's fear wasn't too overwhelming, to help it eliminate this weakness.
That's why, during battles with Solrock and Lunatone, Cain made Bagon accompany him to realize these Pokémon weren't that strong.
Now that its teammates could defeat them easily, Bagon began losing its fear.
By the time they exited Meteor Falls, Bagon's fear of these Pokémon had reduced to a minimum. Cain was confident that, with time, that fear would disappear entirely.
Meteor Falls was quiet at night, so Cain's exit didn't draw much attention. Everyone assumed he was just another explorer.
Cain immediately summoned Flygon, and before anyone could react, he had disappeared into the night sky.
Then Cain found a quiet, secluded place to camp.
With Bagon captured, half his objective was complete. The only thing left was to find the Mega Stone. If he managed to find it, all his goals would be fulfilled.
However, unlike Bagon, which could move around and be captured by others, the Mega Stone was in a safe place and not easy to find.
Ideally, he'd further raise his Pokémon's levels before going for it. With plenty of time, there was no rush. Both his main and secondary teams could improve as much as possible.
Though Cain focused primarily on his main team, he couldn't neglect the growth of the second team. This was a crucial bonding process.
The five little ones warmly welcomed Bagon upon seeing it.
Larvitar, who had previously been the smallest, was thrilled to have a Pokémon smaller than itself. It was so happy that it even wanted to share all its belongings with Bagon, including its favorite little red backpack.
Luckily, it eventually realized the backpack was its most prized possession and decided to keep it. At least it let Bagon touch it a bit.
