POSSESSION: The Hidden Omega In All Alphas' Academy [BL]-Chapter 178: Would You?
Chapter 178: Chapter 178: Would You?
’Fuck! What the hell I am supposed to say now? I don’t even know where is Young Master right now...but if I try to make another excuse, Boss Clark might really shoot me! He sounds too angry over the call...damn it...my head is spinning now...’
With the worried palpitations stirred inside his chest, Barnes bit his nails while trying to come up with a proper answer by not catching his suspicion. But before he could say a word, suddenly Aiden walked a little closer towards his direction and shrieked on the top of his lungs.
"Oi, bodyguard! Zenith just called me a while ago because he couldn’t reach you over the call, just to let you know that he doesn’t want to be disturbed by anyone right at this moment. He has a splitting headache, so you must be aware how scary he becomes whenever his head hurts, right?"
Blurting that loud rumble, Aiden winked at Barnes after making sure his loud voice would be clearly visible to the person on that other side of the phone. At that moment of crisis, Aiden’s help served like a blessing from the heavens, which boosted Barnes’s courage to deal with Mr. Clark.
"Oh, that was Young Master’s best friend, Master Aiden. You also heard his message, right? Master Zenith doesn’t want to be interrupted by anyone else now...so...you could just talk to me about the urgent matter, Boss."
"Ugh, damn it, fuck! If Young Master is unavailable, then you should be the one to answer my questions, you little punk!"
Gritting his jaws angrily, Mr. Clark roared aloud followed by a heavy sigh, "Why is Master Zenith looking after a sick poor omega all of a sudden? What’s with all this ruckus going on? Why didn’t you report anything about it to me all this time, Barnes!?"
Barnes had already sensed a great emergency after hearing his furious tone the moment he answered his call, but to realize he had found about Zenith helping Marita made Barnes extremely anxious inside.
He knew Zenith had strictly ordered him to keep everything that had happened away from Mr. Clark or anyone else, but to realize he had already found about it beforehand, left Barnes spellbound being stuck in this grave trouble.
"Why aren’t you answering me now, Barnes!?"
"Umm...Err, actually, Sir...I felt i-it wasn’t a major issue that I needed to report to you immediately." His voice stuttered from nervousness, but he squeezed those words out of his throat to make his voice sound confident, "And...Young master had briefly told me that he intend to do some charity work...maybe...t-that’s why, he has helpled an omega in need—"
"Cut it our with your ridiculous bullshit, Barnes! Who do you think you are fooling, huh?"
Unfortunately, his trick didn’t work on Mr. Clark as expected and he sounded even more vexed than before as he growled, "Zenith won’t go to that extent of selling his prime stock from the company share for some charity based omega, unless it was something very crucial!
"And do you even know he transferred those shares under the world-renowed cardiologist’s name whom he had summoned to treat that patient! Damn it...what the fuck has been going on there without any of my knowledge!?"
"W-What? He gave up on his...stocks?" The shocking revelation left Barnes spellbound for a few seconds, as if he couldn’t believe his ears. The boys who were in charge of watching over Maritain the hospital were supposed to report any crucial information to him, but since he forgot his satellite phone at the room, he pondered those boys must’ve been unable to reach him and contacted Zenith instead! Thus, he must’ve given those direct orders to sell his stocks which was a grave decision and it shouldn’t be taken alone without letting Barnes know once!
’Young master...just what the hell did you do?’ Murmuring in his mind, Barnes exhaled a big sigh while begging for his apology, "I am sorry, Boss. I...really didn’t know about the order Young Master must’ve issued on his own. I will talk to him about it—"
"If you didn’t knew about such an important thing, then why the fuck I would let you to stay there at the Academy!? You have already failed your duty in watching over Zenith properly...do you realize that?"
When Mr. Clark hoarsely declaimed aloud, it turned Barnes’s blood cold from dread just with the thought of getting relocated somewhere else instead! It took him long 14 years to be finally able to finally reunite with Aiden, even though he was the only one who bore the remnants of their past.
Yet still, just having the chance to talk to Aiden, to look at him...or watch him smile was more than enough for him to fill the empty void of loneliness he had always endured for years after getting separated from Aiden on that fateful day.
But now, Mr. Clark’s words caused a sharp pain to stir inside him when he strongly opposed in a deliberate voice, "Boss, please give me some time at least to rectify my mistake! I promise I won’t fail my duty anymore...but please, don’t take any decision right now. I promise I will talk to Young Master and bring you the report...so please—"
"Barnes, you have tested my patience already. So, I will give you one last chance to see if you’re truly reflecting on your mistake. But after that, if I am still unsatisfied, I already have a substitute ready to go and take over your duty there at the Academy. So, you must’ve realized what to do now, right?"
BEEP!
Addressing his hoarse grumble, Mr. Clark sharply disconnected the call from his side, making Barnes nervous to the point even breathing felt hard for him.
His chest was getting stifled and when he stood there blankly, Aiden marched a little closer to him from behind and urged in a soft voice, "If you want to cry over the scolding from your boss, I can lend you my shoulder to cry on. Would you?"
