POSSESSION: The Hidden Omega In All Alphas' Academy [BL]-Chapter 179: Someone Like Him?
Chapter 179: Chapter 179: Someone Like Him?
Aiden’s soft mumble from behind winced Barnes, as he could immediately feel the surge of anxious thoughts rising inside him calm down magically, just with his simple suggestion!
Even after all these years had passed, Aiden was still his top priority, and reuniting with him once again had just made it clearer to him, that no matter what it took, he would never be able to endure parting away from him now.
But...the warmth in his voice left him baffled since Aiden was always putting his guard up against him until now, but the way he offered to lend his shoulders for him, realizing he must be having a hard time made a thought pop up inside Barnes’s mind.
Was he recalling his lost memories?
When Barnes quickly turned around and met his brown curious gaze locked on him, his throat felt a little stifled out of nervousness when he pushed himself to speak, "P-Pardon? What’s with your sudden kind offer?"
"Well, I am the kind of person who likes to return the favor if someone’s being nice to be for once." Aiden shrugged, sounding nonchalant from his tone as he continued, "You had followed me all the way to that yard and accompanied me all this time. Also, you offered me a drink to swallow with the bread...and you always treat me nicely. So...this is the least I could do for you when it seems you’re pretty stressed right now."
For a second, Barnes had his hopes high, pondering if his beloved Master Aiden was finally able to remember about his ’Bunny’ whom he had treated like his own family.
But once again his indifferent tone crushed his hopes, lifting a sad small smile to curve his lips when Barnes mumbled to himself, ’Serves me right. After all the misery Master Aiden had to go through for years...I will just need to accept his indifference as my punishment. But still, even if it aches my heart right now...I still want to stay close to him...just like this.’
"And judging what I heard from your conversation on the call, it looked like...you’re stressed right now because of that brat Zenith, right?" While Barnes held a brief pause, bearing a contemplated expression, Aiden blurted out in a confident tone, with his gaze fixated on him.
"He always tends to fuck up everyone’s peace of mind with his quirky actions, and after being friends with him for so long, I don’t find it surprising at all. Am I right?"
"Yes." Barnes curtly nodded his head, exhaling a heavy sigh when he shuffled his dark brown hair bangs above his forehead. "Although I did get a scolding from my Boss, but it didn’t make me sad enough to cry about it, I am kind of habituated with this kind of treatment. I guess, you can say it is one of the perks of being an adult.
"And regarding your guess, you’re right, Sir. I need to get a hold of Young Master but unfortunately, he’s out of my radar now. And...I don’t have the guts to disturb his peaceful day off either..."
"If he’s together with Kylian right now, then I don’t think it would be a wise idea for you to disturb him. He’s quite crazy whenever he gets irked." While Aiden muttered after him, Barnes didn’t fail to notice the glum look in his orbs when he mentioned Kylian.
Once again, his grimace could vividly express that Aiden disliked the thought of those two being together, but even after noticing it, Barnes couldn’t feel the courage to ask him for the reason since he didn’t want Aiden to think of him as some nosy old coot.
"Ugh, my head hurts. It feels quite stressful indeed."
With another big sigh when Barnes mumbled, suddenly a scar on his left eyebrow caught Aiden’s attention as he felt strangely curious to ask him about it, "What’s that scar on your brow? It looks old...but very deep."
Just from the mention, Barnes could feel a chill running down his spine as he froze for a brief moment. He had obtained that big deep scar on his face from Lorelia’s beating, especially when she had stomped his face with her sharp heels.
Even after years have passed, that scar stayed as a vivid memory of him, always making Barnes reminisce about his bitter separation from Aiden.
No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t erase that mark which made him remember of the helplessness he had to endure while fleeing away from the mansion with the help of butler Rick’s help.
Not even once he could go near the mansion even after growing up, even though he deliberately wanted to thank the head butler from the core of his heart for saving his life and giving him a purpose his entire existence depended upon.
But now that Aiden asked about it, he started stuttering in a clumsy voice, "Oh, t-this? Umm, it was just a wound when I got during my training p-period...."
GRROWWWLLL!
However, before letting Barnes finish his words, suddenly his stomach growled so aloud that it flustered Barnes pretty hard to have Aiden hear such an absurd sound. Before he could muster the courage to meet his eyes, Aiden burst into a hearty chuckle while teasing him, "Are you perhaps carrying a monster inside your belly? How can someone’s stomach rumbles so loud?"
"I-It’s not like that, I-I am very sorry and embarrassed." Scratching the back of his neck, Barnes’s earlobes were turning red from shyness while he lowered his eyes down, "I...get really hungry whenever I am under stress...so...maybe it sounded so aloud... And...I skipped breakfast too, so...I apologize again—"
"It’s fine, it’s not like you’ve committed a grave sin." After having his fill of laughter, Aiden casually comforted him, even though he vividly noticed how much Barnes was embarrassed. "Since you’re tough enough not to cry from a scolding, so...I will return your favor by accompanying you to the cafeteria where you can grab something. Let’s go."
"No, it’s not really needed—"
"Come on, I won’t tease you anymore, so let’s go okay?" With a gentle pat on his shoulder, Aiden tossed a gentle smile before turning his broad back towards him as he urged. He could sense Barnes clumsily following after him, but deep in his mind, a thought arose out of the blue.
’He gets hungry whenever stressed, huh? Why does it feel that perhaps, I used to know someone...like him, before?’
