Chapter 164: A Little Trouble, And The Mining Crew Is Back

It didn’t take him long to arrive at the boutique, and as for Zafira, she said she would be finalizing her documents today.

After all, his constructs and she had finally managed to finish everything. Every last document was filled out and ready to be filed.

He estimated it would take around a week for everything to go through successfully, and after that, he could meet his in-laws.

Haha… Rael scratched his cheek and stepped inside the boutique. I need to buy some cool stuff for her parents. Else, I’m going to look like an idiot…

Karina soon entered his sight and waved at him. “Sup. What did you need?”

“Was an event announced?” Rael asked flatly. “On the forums… somewhere… I don’t know.”

She fell into thought for a moment before nodding. “Yes… monster subjugation. Apparently, the developers will select a few powerful monsters in each region and make them our targets.”

Rael heaved a relieved sigh.

Thank fuck it’s not the lawless zone. That would’ve been a pain in everyone’s ass… he thought.

It had been a simple event where they removed the guards in all the cities.

Players stole, killed, and did whatever they wanted to the NPCs, all for the sole purpose of realism.

Yet nothing about imprisoning the guards somewhere was real. Just a bullshit excuse to terrorize everyone.

Nonetheless, this was good. A powerful monster from each region…

“…Monster?” Rael muttered, his brows twitching. “Regular monsters, right?”

She shook her head. “Boss monsters. They’re going to give us a lot of experience if we defeat them, so it’s definitely going to be worth it.”

Rael nearly shed an imaginary tear.

After all, he was a Boss Monster, and a pretty powerful one at that.

Well…

Maybe they won’t pick me, right…? I still resemble a human, and I’m… Rael sighed. Yeah. I’m getting the fuck out of here with Zafira asap.

“Thanks, oh, and here…”

He assigned her the quest and tilted his head.

“What color is the sky?”

Karina furrowed her brows. “Blue?”

Rael rolled his eyes and glanced to the side, where another pair of pop-ups appeared.

“Thank you?” Karina muttered with a surprised look.

“No problem, you deserve it. Now then, thanks for the information. I have to go get some stuff ready,” Rael said and began walking away.

She exited the boutique alongside him but didn’t follow, since Milf_GattlingGun and Asimov seemed to have arrived on time.

Her attention was taken off him for a mere moment, and in that time, Rael simply dashed away, heading back to the palace.

That event was going to happen any minute now, and for that, he had to help Zafira out.

Yet as he arrived at the palace and entered the throne room, he noticed Evelyn sitting on the throne.

She was fidgeting like some child riding a bicycle for the first time.

In this context, she was.

“How’s it going?” Rael asked, approaching her. “Feeling comfortable?”

“This wasn’t in my job description, Rael,” Evelyn replied in a low tone. “I thought I could just practice my swordsmanship in peace… why didn’t Aria get the authority to rule over Celestara for the time being? She’s more experienced than I am at this stuff.”

“She’s also the daughter of a foreign ruler,” Rael added as he got closer and tapped her on the shoulder. “Just suck it up. It’s not like you’ll have to do this often. Plus, Linlin should arrive soon to keep you company.”

Sometimes, he jinxed stuff. But there was no way she’d be acting as the stand-in ruler more than once.

Right…?

Nonetheless, they shared a bit of small talk, and Zafira finally left the document room with a triumphant look on her face.

“I’m done… I’m actually done!” Zafira yelled and raised her arms in excitement as she ran up to Rael and hugged him.

“Just a warning. My parents are a bit rough around the edges, but I promise, they’re nice people,” Zafira said and swiftly pulled away.

Only now did he take a look at her clothes. She was dressed in casual adventurer attire, and she looked pretty darn cute as always.

“I’m ready. Are you?” she asked, and he nodded.

“Pretty much. Let’s set out as soon as possible, okay?” Rael urged.

After all, he didn’t want to risk getting bombarded by a dozen annoying players.

“Okay, I’ll just file the paperwork real quick, so you can wait outside. It will only take a few minutes,” Zafira added, then happily skipped out of the throne room, heading for the administrative building.

Rael glanced back at the stiff Evelyn and gave her a thumbs-up.

“You got this. Probably.”

“P-Probably?”

He chuckled and took his leave, heading outside.

It would be a bit of an annoying journey considering the barbarian lands were uneven, so close-range battle might be a little difficult, for him especially.

But I might not even need to resort to that if I use my Violin Blade or my mind abilities, Rael hummed in amusement as he summoned his car and got inside, tapping the steering wheel out of boredom.

Then, he noticed two people through the rearview mirror. As he turned around, he saw Crouching Tiger and Sausage Handler, riddled with bruises, walking toward him.

They had several dozen bags, and upon approaching, they merely dropped them to the floor before collapsing in exhaustion.

Did they actually get the ores? Rael wondered as he stepped outside, approached the bags, and inspected them.

And to say he was surprised was an understatement.

Rael glanced toward the two collapsed players who had triumphant expressions on their faces and let out a chuckle.

These crazy bastards…
