The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter-Chapter 984: RETURN TO HOWLING WOLF PACK
Chapter 984: RETURN TO HOWLING WOLF PACK
Regarding the problem with the Elders, the three of them would be sent back to Andelus continent after two years, during that time, they would be their ’guests’ here.
This timeline would prevent them to mass their power and followers, it would weaken their influence too, but they couldn’t outright kill them, since it would incur the wrath of the Holy Kingdom people and they were at the position, where they couldn’t afford another battle.
This was the safest way to move forward, at least for now.
As for Abby, originally she decided not to go back to Andel Continent, but if she changed her mind, she would return along with the elders after two years.
But, now she said she was going to go back. This made Iris frowned. Her mind started to think what she was up to, but Abby smiled to see her guarded expression.
"I don’t have any hidden agenda, luna," Abby said. "I think about this carefully until I come to this decision."
Iris held Zander close to her, while the baby made noises and played with her curls. He would laugh if her hair tickled his small face and kicked his legs happily.
"He is a happy baby," Abby stated. Her eyes softened when she saw Zander glanced at her and laughed. They were supposed to be a family, as they were blood related, but they didn’t feel like one, yet it was fine.
"Yes, he is," Iris replied, she caressed Zander’s ruddy cheek and couldn’t be more grateful that after everything, her babies were very healthy. Them being shifter was a great factor for that. "And what the reason behind it?"
Abby explained to Iris that she was going back to take care of the Holy Kingdom, now without the influence of the Elders and Rei, as the Serafim, she should be able to get a sense of control on everything.
"I can assure you that Holy Kingdom under my control will never turn its back against you. It will be a great help for you too." Abby stretched out her hand and let Zander wrapped his little fingers around her forefinger, as a smile curved on her lips. "I know it will be hard for you to trust me, especially with the way I acted since the first time we met, but if you wanted to think about this carefully, you will see that it will be the best option."
Two years was a long time for a kingdom as big as the Holy Kingdom to go without any leader in charge, at some point, there would be someone, who took the charge and inserted themselves in the role of the leader.
It would be dangerous, since they didn’t know who that person would be, thus Abby took this chance to establish her own power within the kingdom, after all, this was what she was born for. She lived her life as the Serafim, she was taught for this.
Because Iris didn’t want the position, Abby was still the Serafim, since her annulment had never happened.
"I didn’t mean I will go right away, I still want to see your coronation," Abby said softly. Probably she would leave a month or two after the coronation, unless Iris could give her a better solution about how to handle the power struggle within the Holy Kingdom.
"Let me think about this."
Of course, Iris wouldn’t take any decision without talking to Cane first and Abby knew about that. More so, there was a problem regarding Cedric too. He was Abby’s personal knight, but he was also Iris’s true protector.
There would be a discussion about that as well.
The next day there was this large entourage toward the Howling Wolf pack. A big, spacious carriage had been made for Iris and the babies, so they would be comfortable during this journey.
It was sad that the carriage with Haco’s spell had been destroyed, since it held valuable memories for Iris and Cane.
During this journey, Aliana and Hanna used to stay with Iris inside the carriage to help with the babies, while Cane would be outside with the warriors and the people that helped him with his plan.
Iris didn’t get involved too much with the affair, but Cane would update her about what he was going to do and occasionally, Iris would give him her input.
This was a nice journey.
Aside from the spacious carriage that Iris had, Abby and her baby, also the Sofia and her babies stayed in their respective carriages.
"What with long face?" Redmond was playing with Rye, while Lucia crawled on his lap. The two of them started talking and it made him happy when they started to call him with ’Dada’.
"I preferred to stay in Crystal Moon pack," Sofia said. Howling Wolf pack brought a lot of bad memories. She felt fidgeting and anxious the closer they got to the pack.
She remembered how she acted and how the people looked at her after it revealed that Rye was not the alpha’s son. She was afraid her son wouldn’t be welcomed and they would be mean to him.
Sofia could endure it if it was her, who was being badmouthed, but what about her son? She didn’t want her son to know what she had done and people talked bad about him.
He was going to grow up, at some point, he would know about what happened during the time he was born.
"There is no one will do anything like that," Redmond said, he tickled Rye, as he laughed merrily and Lucia bit him. "You don’t need to worry about such thing. Tell me if there is someone pulled that crap."
Hearing that, there was this small smile on the corner of Sofia’s lips. Redmond might not realize it, but his words warmed her heart and she felt protected.
"What are you going to do if someone talked bad about me and our babies?" Sofia approached Redmond and picked Lucia up, stopped the little one from biting off Redmond’s arm.
"I am going to cut their tongue and give it to the dog."
"Redmond! You can’t say something like that in front of the children!" Sofia chided.
"... Cut tangue! Cut their tangue!" Rye and Lucia chanted.
"Ssh!" Redmond tried to stop their chant before Sofia killed him.
It took them a week to reach Howling Wolf pack with this entourage and when they arrived, Carla had prepared a welcoming party for them. There would be a feast latter that night and right now, all the people were on the street, greeting their alpha and their luna, also the rest of the people, who came with them.
People chanted their name and was in uproar to hear that Cane and Iris would be the king and queen of this continent.
But, of course there was still someone, who was not happy with how thing progressed. Laluna held baby Vemion in her arms, as she stared at the commotion to welcome Cane and Iris.
"This is not right. This is not what he promised." Laluna gritted her teeth, she didn’t have anyone, but she still had her baby and he was the rightful heir.
