After breakfast that morning, both Alanis and Harlow, dressed in matching outfits, stepped out of their cabin, headed for the surprise Alanis had prepared for his wife.
They both stepped into their car and the chauffeur drove out of the yard.
"You never said a word about where we’re going." Harlow turned to the man typing a message with his phone.
"It would no longer be a surprise if I told you Villian," Alanis said.
"You said no phones throughout the trip Alanis, you’re breaking the rules." Harlow glared at the man beside her. He had stopped her from using her phone stating that he wanted her to live in the moment, only to use his?
"I said no phones for you. You’re the only one obsessed with the business and family." Alanis typed a few words and sent a message before placing his phone back by his side. He had just been sent a detailed message from Gus about the recent happenings in his family.
Gus has been his informant since they traveled. He knew about everything happening, but he refused to say a word or return home. He will not return to those stupid people until he is done fulfilling his silly wife’s romance fantasies.
In this life, Harlow is more important than those people. At least he knows Charlotte is safe and shielded from their nonsense. Frank is set out to take his revenge on everyone who has wronged him.
At first, Alanis thought Harlow had been the one doing everything, which is why he seized her cell phone and every means of communication. But it seems they’re all happening naturally. These people were getting their punishment in this life for everything they did to his wife and son.
Alanis wondered what his punishment would be. For now, he hoped his punishment would never be his greatest fear. Losing Harlow.
That would be the end of him. He would go crazy if he lost her again. He shook his head at his thought a low deep growl escaped his throat.
They would grow old together and have as many children as they want. He didn’t care if Harlow loved him back, his love for her was more than enough.
As long as they had their rules, they were good.
"That’s not fair. Who says you can make such rules?"
"We use my phone for every transaction villain, so my phone is important."
"We can use mine, I have more than enough money in my phone and card too."
"I already told you Villian, you get distracted easily. I want to you all to myself on this trip. So no phones."
Who does this man think he is to make such decisions? Harlow frowned and turned her head back to her side of the drive.
Their drive was long and all Harlow could do was get lost in her thoughts as she stared at the large skyscrapers. Somehow, this city reminded her so much of Halkhalls. Harlow sighed. To be honest, she didn’t miss anything, except Grandma Hamilton.
Harlow wondered how Charlotte was doing. She could already tell what Charlotte would say if she called her.
"Don’t worry about me Harlow, I need my grandchildren when you get back."
Harlow chuckled softly. Charlotte could be a pain in the ass, but she is the best.
"What’s so funny?" Alanis who has been watching his wife said to receive a glare from her. It seems she’s still mad at him for seizing her cell phone. He would need to do something to please her again.
In no time, they arrived at their location and Alanis stepped out of his car. He opened the door for his wife gesturing his hands towards her, but Harlow ignored him.
Harlow stared at the buildings ahead which read ’Fine Jewels’. She immediately knew what Alanis had brought her here for. He was fulfilling another stupid fantasy of hers, right now she had no idea which one he hadn’t fulfilled yet.
"Come Villian." Both people started walking towards the building.
"Mr. AH." Alanis gritted his teeth at the sweet voice calling them. They had no idea how this woman got here, but she was getting so annoying.
"Ignore her and come inside with me," Alanis said to his wife who already turned to look at her.
"She’s already up close, there’s no escaping now," Harlow muttered with a smile. It’s her payback time, she’ll make Alanis break their rule and punish him. This is all she has been waiting for.
"Wow, it’s so nice to see you two. Brian, these are the neighbors I told you about. The people we met at the cinema" Brain forced a smile as he stared at them.
He didn’t know his wife’s obsession with this young couple but it was getting out of hand.
He knew this man was the reason Brenda had agreed to buy a house in the remote part of the city.
Here he thought his wife finally loved him. She is only following her new crush around even if it’s clear the man is married and doesn’t want to have anything to do with her.
"I... I... It’s... N... N... Nic... Nice..."
"It’s nice to see you. We know Brian, just don’t speak too much." Brenda was embarrassed by her husband but she brushed it off quickly. After all, she wouldn’t be spending the rest of her days with him.
Harlow could be with him if she wanted, they complement each other perfectly.
"Isn’t it surprising how we get to meet everywhere?" Brenda smiled.
"Oh yes, it’s almost like you’ve been following us around ever since we met at the cinema. Do you do this with everyone?" Harlow asked. It was getting creepy. She wasn’t someone who sugar-coated her words, that was her past self, in this life she has decided to be unapologetic.
"H... How can you say that? Brain and I came here for a new jewel and we just happened to see you both."
