The sounds of sirens reverberated in the air. More than seven doctors rushed out of their ambulance surrounding a black sports car that had been crushed by a truck.
While the commotion went on a man stood by the side of the road watching the view with a smile on his lips. Others passing by too stopped to stare at the devastating scene before them.
Bodhi was eager to see the person that has been crushed by the truck to report back to Elisa about it. He has successfully killed the girl. Frank Blackwood’s stupid daughter was finally dead.
He could already picture Elisa’s reaction to everything. How she would smile and be happy with him. It’s the least he could do for her, after everything Harlow has done to them.
She had destroyed their plans, ruined his daughter and now, she thinks she can just go freely?
"I doubt whoever is in there survived this." A woman said amongst the crowd gathered there.
"Who do you think it is?" Another woman asked as they watched the doctors finally open the door. They dragged the person out and placed him on the stretcher before moving him into the ambulance.
Bodhi’s eyes narrowed as he watched the person being placed in the ambulance. That wasn’t a woman, who the hell is that?
But the information he got was that Harlow would be at the restaurant, she had used a sports car and he had to wait for them here. He had planned everything well, so why the hell was he seeing a man?
Soon, reporters flooded around the place, their cameras on as they videoed the scene before them. But the Hamilton’s guards that had gone with Alanis didn’t let them near their boss. They had been the ones to stop the reporters from getting close to him or taking a photo of him.
"It’s Mr Alanis Hamilton." One of the reporters said staring at the plate number of the now condemned car.
Alanis moved his fingers, fighting between being conscious and unconscious. But even in this state, all he longed for was the one woman that had left him. He had no idea things would be like this else he would have been truthful from the very beginning.
He struggled to stay sane. He struggled to open his eyes, to be awake to run to Harlow. All he wanted was her, but he couldn’t.
Alanis feared this was his end. In this life, even if he had gotten a glimpse of the woman he loved, he had lost her again. Once more, he didn’t play his card right.
Soon, his struggles became futile and his body lost all form of consciousness.

When morning came, the beeping sound of machines sounded in the now spacious room. The curtains in the room fluttered to the sound of the wind. As Alanis turned conscious again, he was greeted by muffled sounds. Soon, it got even more loud and precise in his ears.
"Oh, he looks better this morning." The deep voice sounded and he blinked.
"When do you think he’ll be awake doctor, it’s been a month already." Charlotte’s voice rang in his ears and he struggled further to open his eyes.
"Wait, his hands just moved." A nurse said staring at the man on the bed and everyone in the room turned to look at him.
Only hands?’ Alanis thought to himself, anger swelling in his chest as he struggled again.
"Alanis, sweetheart, if you can hear me move your fingers again." Charlotte’s voice sounded and he struggled one more time, but rather than moving his fingers. Tears fell from the corners of his eyes.
Charlotte placed her hands on her lips. The past month hadn’t been so easy for them. Harlow didn’t only leave Alanis and their family for good, she had destroyed their company and everything they own. The Hamilton’s Corp has been turned to nothing.
With Alanis still in the hospital, Charlotte has done everything to help the company back up, but there’s only little she can do. George had no skills neither did Lia on how to run a company.
Frank Blackwood had been the one helping them start up the company again, but it hasn’t been easy.
Charlotte doesn’t blame Harlow at all, in fact, she still blames Alanis for everything Harlow did. They deserve it and more.
No one has seen or heard from Harlow again since the date night. Charlotte has tried to reach out to her and ask for forgiveness but it’s almost like she never existed.
She had somehow carried everything that once belonged to her from their lives for good.
"My Grandson." Charlotte beamed, tears of joy rolling from her eyes. She always knew Alanis was a fighter, she knew he would survive this.
Though his life might never be the same again since the doctor said his leg was damaged for life and he might never be able to walk again, he had still fought through it.
"Let me check him." The doctor moved closer to examine the man on the bed and at that moment, Alanis’s eyes flew open. The light in the room was just too bright so he blinked multiple times, adjusting his eyes to the light.
It’s been a full month since he had been admitted here, but he had no idea about that. The only thing on his mind was the woman that had left him that night. He had to find Harlow.
She should be here now knowing he was in here. Knowing he was hurt, but he couldn’t find her amongst the people in the room.
"Alanis." Charlotte rushed to her grandson’s side and the doctor stepped aside. He had examined his patient to know he was now okay. He had also removed all of the machines connected to Alanis’s body.
"H... Harlow." He muttered, his voice low and barely audible but Charlotte had heard him. She wishes to erase the memories of Harlow from their lives, but she can’t.
"I’m grateful you’re alive grandson." She said.
"Harlow. I want to see my wife, where is she?" Alanis asked again, struggling to get out of bed, but for some reason, he couldn’t move his legs.
"Don’t try too hard son. Harlow’s not here anymore." Charlotte said. "You should try to forget her and focus more on recovering."
"What happened to my legs, why can’t I move?" Alanis ignored his grandmother’s words as he struggled to get out of bed.
"Y... You’re paralyzed." Charlotte said and he paused to look at her. "The accident was deadly and unfortunately, the doctors said you lost your legs in the process.
Alanis closed his eyes, body suddenly turning so weak at her words.
How did things get like this?
Why was this happening to him?
"Then there must be a wheelchair or something. I need to find my wife." He said.
"You just came out of a one-month coma Mr Hamilton. I’m afraid we cannot let you leave this place." The doctor said and Alanis’s eyes went wide. He had been here for a month?
"You can’t stop me." Alanis tried to get out of bed again, but Charlotte held him.
"Alanis please listen to them. You can’t find Harlow in this state, you have to recover first." Charlotte pleaded.
She could understand how he felt, she had also tried to find Harlow, but it seemed like he didn’t exist at all.
After staying a few more days in the hospital, Alanis had finally been discharged. The Hamilton servants rolled him into a wheelchair outside of the hospital.
Alanis was still shocked Harlow hadn’t shown up at the hospital even if she’d heard he was dying. She was paying him back everything he did to her in the past. It’s obvious she was still so angry at him.
He would find her and Apologize for everything again. One month away should be enough time to get her to forgive him right?
Once they arrived back home, Alanis tried to higher the best detectives to find his wife, but he realized Harlow had destroyed everything they owned before leaving.
"We cannot hire the best detectives if the business is not working well and bring in profit Alanis. You need to get your life together before finding your wife." Charlotte said to him.
She had hired the best of the best to find Harlow, but the result has always been the same. She couldn’t let her grandson do the same. She wouldn’t let him destroy himself again.
They could find Harlow again, but first, they need to get their life back together again.
Alanis spent a few months handling the company again while searching for the woman who seemed to have vanished from the face of earth and his legs which hadn’t seemed to improve at all.
The months passed by hadn’t been easy at all. He was going crazy every day apart from the woman he loved.
