"Alex get well first and mummy and daddy would have a grand wedding just the way you want it."

"No!" The little boy screamed crossing his hands on his chest.

"You’re lying to me. You still hate each other. You don’t love me." Alex cried out thrashing his hands and feet all over the place.

It’s been three days since he got admitted to the hospital and these three days have been chaotic for both Alanis and Harlow. Alex wanted them to do the impossible.

Though Alanis was fine with it, but Harlow was. Even if she still had feelings for him, getting back together with this man was the last thing she wanted.

Alex knew his mother was stubborn but he would show her he was even my bullheaded than her. After all, he is her seed. When has the parent ever been more stubborn than the child?

"Alex don’t say things like that." Harlow’s soft voice sounded. "You know I love you so much."

"You don’t!" The little boy said with a frown. Lia smiled as she watched the drama unfold, Alex really is his mother and father combined.

I won’t get well until you two are married. I won’t eat and I’ll cry every day." He cried out, already wiping his eyes and Harlow panicked.

"Fine, we’ll go to the civil office to get married right away." Harlow grabbed Alanis’s hands and dragged him away.

"Lia, do well to watch Alex while we’re out. Don’t let him out of your sight." She said and hurried away.

Lia stood in the corner where she was smiling at how smart her nephew was.

"How long are you planning on deceiving your mummy Alex?" She asked moving close to him and the boy who seemed like he couldn’t sit on his own, finally sat up.

"What do you mean Aunt Lia?" He asked innocently.

"Don’t play dumb Alex. Remember we’re in this together." Lia held his cheek. "But I still wonder what your mummy will do when she finds out you lied." Lia smiled.

"She’ll never know if you don’t tell her Aunt Lia," Alex said.

"Promise me you won’t tell mummy I lied." He said.

"I won’t," Lia promised.

Meanwhile, Alanis and Harlow finally arrived at the bureau office. They’ll just get the marriage certificate and leave once and for all.

"Note the certificate is temporary Alanis. Once Alex recovers we’re getting divorced." Harlow said.

There were lines of people ahead of them and Harlow wondered why so many people wanted to be married like this. It’s not like marriage was anything special.

When it was their turn to get their certificate, the officer checked their files to see if they were already married in the system. He stared at both people wondering what they were doing here.

"You’re already married Mr and Mrs Hamilton, I don’t know why you’re here." He said.

"We have been separated for seven years now and I thought the marriage was canceled."

"No one filed for a divorce, why would it be canceled? Unless you’re here to get a divorce."

"We’re not," Alanis said quickly.

"I think we lost our marriage certificate, can we get another one printed out?" Alanis asked and the man nodded.

"It’s not that easy, you’ll pay a decent amount for it." The man said.

"No problem." fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com

In no time, both Alanis and Harlow left the civil office with a newly printed marriage certificate. Harlow had no idea that the seven years she had spent apart from this man was useless as long as she hadn’t asked for a divorce.

All this time she thought they were over, she was still married to Alanis Hamilton.

They reached the hospital again to show the evidence to the little king who had demanded for it and Alex smiled. He was finally happy his parents were back together again.

In a few days according to his plans, the doctor will declare him okay and ready for discharge, but that would be with a special warning to his parents.

"Here’s the marriage certificate Alex, are you happy now?" Harlow asked and he smiled giving a slight nod.

He was happy, his mummy and daddy were together again.

"Thank you for watching him Lia, you must be tired?" Harlow turned to her sister-in-law.

"It’s nothing, Harlow, I would do anything for my nephew," Lia said.

"You should go home and rest, I’ll stay here with Alex," Harlow said.

"How about you go with her? You haven’t slept in days, I’ll watch Alex." Alanis suddenly said and Harlow turned to look at him.

"Don’t try to protest Villian. I told you we’re in this together didn’t I?" He smiled.

"Go get some rest. Take good care of her Lia." He turned to his sister who smiled.

"I will come Harlow.’

He has stayed seven years apart from his son, spending a little time with his little man while Harlow’s rest should not hurt.

She pressed his lips on Alex’s forehead mouthing I love you and was about to leave, but Alanis’s next word stopped her in her tracks.

"Aren’t you forgetting something?" He asked pointing at his cheeks, Alex’s big round eyes were on them, ready to cause a scene of his mother’s decline.

Alanis sure knows how to take advantage of a situation. She leaned in to peg his cheeks but he turned his lips to kiss her. Harlow forced a smile. She would do anything to make sure Alex was not sad again, even if it meant putting up with Alanis’s madness again.

Once his wife was out of sight, Alanis turned to the little king lying on the big bed.

"You can stop pretending now your mum is gone." He suddenly said but Alex didn’t flinch. If anything he stared at his father innocently, like he hadn’t just heard what he said.

He was so good at concealing his identity just like his father.

Alex didn’t blame him, he couldn’t even complain. God had given him a blend of himself and that stubborn woman he married. Alex didn’t need a DNA test or anything for him to know this was his seed.

It’s still baffling how a seven-year-old would come up with such a scheme just to get his parents together.

But Alanis already knew the answer to that. It’s the same way he had found him too. He’s the son of a genius which automatically makes him a genius. Alex would even be better than his mother.

"How dare you little rat make my wife cry?" Alanis clicked his tongue and Alex finally sat up.

"I didn’t mean to Daddy. I only told a little lie." Alex said sweetly.

"A little lie that almost gave your mother a heart attack," Alanis said.

"What was I supposed to do, I was losing you two. Besides you’re a big liar yourself, I only learned from you"_"

For a moment, Alanis turned speechless. What has he done?

"If I hadn’t lied, I would never have been able to see you and you know that," Alanis said.

"If I didn’t lie, you would have been kicked out by now. I’m not stupid Daddy to not know the agreement you made with mummy." Alex retorted and Alanis sighed.

He was right, it is the reason he had allowed the lies to continue because even he was selfish. He wanted to be with Harlow again too.

"So what do we do now? Your mother will kill us if she finds out." Alanis asked.
