A week passed since Alex’s illness and it was finally his discharge day. Both he and his father have decided to take their secret to their graves.

Harlow has been so sad recently, she would never forgive them if she found out everything was a lie.

But Alex has promised his father that he would never lie to his mother anymore. He has promised he would be good and has shown Alanis a few good tricks to his mother’s heart again.

"I’m entrusting Mother to you again Daddy. Don’t mess with her, or you’ll have me to contend with." He had threatened his father and Alanis complied.

He didn’t take his son’s warning for granted.

"When are we going to see Great Grandma Mummy?" He asked.

"Soon baby. She’ll be so happy to see you." Harlow said. She couldn’t wait to see Charlotte again, she only hoped that she would forgive her for ruining their lives back then.

Back then she was hurt and wasn’t thinking straight. She had done what she thought to be right.

"How soon?" Alex asked, his wheelchair making screeching sounds as it moved.

"We need to make a few transfers so that you can start schooling there Alex. So maybe a day or two." Harlow said.

"Does that mean I get to see my brother too?" Harlow nodded. Alanis had told her George had a son now whose name is Liam. He warned her against his brother stating, that George hated her after everything that happened. But he was sure he would learn to love her afterward.

Harlow felt so happy for her son’s recovery. According to the doctor, Alex has improved miraculously because he had been too happy, and was time to get discharged.

Harlow couldn’t be more thankful that her son was okay. But most of all, she was grateful Alanis had been here to care for both her and Alex. He has proven himself time and time again, that he had truly changed. And that he loved her.

Maybe it was time she let go of the past. Maybe it’s time she trusts him again. It wouldn’t hurt to love him, after all, she’s punished him enough.

They left the hospital and headed back home. It would take them a day or two to return to Halkhalls.

Lia screamed when they arrived, she had thrown a little party for Alex, inviting his friends over. It wasn’t just his recovery party, it was also his send-off party with his friends.

It would be bad if he didn’t say goodbye to the people dear to him.

Alex smiled, feeling so happy and excited about everything going on. Just as his father taught him, it’s not bad to lie if the lie is for something good. His little lie had brought his family together. And that is the little secret he would love to keep for as long as he can.

He ate laughed and married. Pictures were taken of them all and soon, he became exhausted from all of the partying.

Soon evening came, and then it was night. Harlow and Alanis sat in the lounge with Alex and Lia and they watched a movie.

"Mummy, Daddy, I’m feeling so sleepy," Alex said calmly, and both people didn’t hesitate to take him to his room.

Alanis laid him gently on the bed while settling behind him and Harlow sat at the other side of the bed, reading him his bedtime story.

The duo both stared at her while she read, smiles on their faces. Alex was proud of his mummy, she didn’t just have the brains, she was also very beautiful.

Alanis stared at his wife. The only woman that makes his heart beat a ways he couldn’t understand.

"The end..." Harlow said with a smile.

"Alright. It’s time for kisses. Where’s my baby!"

"Oh, I’m here," Alex screamed as his mother pounced on him, her soft lips moving all over him, tickling his body. Alanis wasn’t slacking either, as both people showered him with kisses all over and all he could do was laugh his heart out.

"Mummy, please! He screamed.

"Daddy please!" He choked out with laughter. And finally, he was truly exhausted this time. It wasn’t long before Alex fell asleep.

Once Harlow and Alanis were sure he was asleep, they both stepped out of the room.

Harlow was the one to close the door. "Did you know Alex lied about his illness?" She suddenly asked and Alanis froze, but he quickly turned normal.

"What?" He asked like he didn’t know about it.

"How did you know?" He asked.

"Lia told me. She said she couldn’t hide it anymore, that she had been the one to plan everything with him." She said.

"Then that means we’re getting a divorce," Alanis said calmly. He had accepted his fate.

But he wouldn’t just go down like this before he leaves, he would kill Lia with his bare hands for having such a big mouth.

He had thought Alex’s lies would last longer but Lia just had to say something.

He wouldn’t force Harlow to be with him. He was ready to win her over again. It didn’t matter how long it took, he was willing to wait. But Harlow’s next words shocked him.

"No." She said calmly.

"No?" Alanis turned to look at her eyes a little wide with shock.

"Alex is happier with you around." She said. If her little boy could go to such lengths to bring them together, then there was no point trying to separate them anymore.

"But we need to settle our scores, Alanis. If we’re going to be together, then there should be no secret between us anymore." Harlow said calmly.

"No more lies between us. We’re doing this for Alex." She said.

She has decided to not be selfish and give her son the best life. The life he couldn’t get in the past.

"I love you as much as I love Alex Villain. I want to be with you because I love you." Alanis said.

Harlow had a lot more to say but she held it in. This was not the right time.
