Chapter 51 - Team Training

The training ground behind the Celestia Bloom Hall had a quieter space—a cleared circle surrounded by frost-tipped trees and training posts. It was just big enough for a trio to practice... and just secluded enough for mischief.

Sylvia stood at the center, already holding her ice-forged blade, calm as ever. Her black hair fluttered as she faced the dummies ahead like statues waiting for orders.

Zen adjusted the grip on his sword. "Let's run the scenario. Two monsters coming from the left. One tank, one sprinter."

"Ice them?" Sylvia asked, her voice cool and flat.

"Wait for my signal," Zen said, calculating. "We need to time it."

[System: "Captain Cold, Deadpan Destroyer, and the Flustered Commander. I'm so here for this team dynamic."]

Lyra, who had been dramatically leaning on a post, sighed loudly. "Zen, you're no fun during training. Loosen up or I'll tickle your strategy sense out of you."

Zen gave her a sideways look. "Please don't."

"Oh-ho?" She grinned. "You scared of me, Commander?"

[System: "Confirmed: Lyra is his final boss in emotional stability."]

Before Zen could respond, Sylvia—unbothered—raised a hand. "Can I attack now?"

Zen nodded. "Go."

In one breath, Sylvia flicked her wrist. A glacial spear shot out, pinning the first dummy's shadow to the ground. Another motion, and twin ice blades grew from her arms like wings. She darted forward—graceful, quiet, deadly.

She sliced through both dummies with fluid, silent steps. Shards glittered in the air like frozen petals.

"Training complete," she said, stepping back beside them. "Your turn, comedy duo."

"Comedy duo!?" Lyra gasped, placing a hand to her chest. "Sylvia, you wound me."

Zen chuckled softly, then turned serious. "Let's run a live coordination set. Sylvia, freeze left. Lyra, intercept mid. I'll take the heavy."

"Wait, wait," Lyra said, tapping her chin. "What do I get if I land more hits than you?"

Zen blinked. "I didn't realize this was a competition."

"It is now," Lyra smirked. "And if I win... you owe me a lunch date."

Zen's sword arm faltered for a second. "Wh—"

[System: "HA! Target hit! Critical blush damage sustained!"]

Even Sylvia, ever stone-faced, tilted her head curiously.

Zen quickly composed himself. "Fine. And if I win?"

Lyra raised a brow. "Ooh, confident now?"

Sylvia walked past them. "I'll be back here. You two... flirt after training."

Zen turned crimson. "That's not what this is—"
