The Kingmaker System-Chapter 106 - 105. Welcome Home (6)
Chapter 106: 105. Welcome Home (6)
"Master, take this and this as well." Viny pointed different kinds of sweets and cakes.
"The kids loved chocolate so, make sure you take that as well, Master!" Sally added.
"And if you’re free you can come and eat here with us after you’ve visited your kids, Master." Gina winked making me clear my throat.
"Your kids!" Roan squeaked.
Gina smiled coyly as she looked at him, "Yes, Master has basically adopted them all so, aren’t they his kids now?"
"If that’s the case then, you all at Oasis are my kids too." I spoke up as I put the strawberry from the shortcake into my mouth while Randall was packing the sweets.
"Oh, my! And here I thought I could marry you." Sally pouted.
I couldn’t help but chuckle as they were quite adept in flirting. I wonder what they would do when they come to know that the person they were flirting with was a child and a girl at that.
"Let’s go, Master." Randall said and I nodded.
"All right."
"Get up, you two." I said looking at Remi and Roan who were eating cakes that Gina and Viny had given them
"I’ve had some extra snacks packed. You can eat with the kids."
The two stood up and Randall picked up the boxes filled with sweets and cakes and followed us out. ƒгeewebnovёl.com
"See you again, Master!"
"Please drop by often!’
"We’ll miss you!"
The three girls shouted as I and my party were leaving. We entered the forest line and kept walking up the slope deeper into the woods.
"Hey, are you going to marry one of them?" Roan asked and I looked at him.
"No."
"But they seemed to like you."
"The first time we met we tried to kill each other." I said and he gave me a look.
"You tried to kill those girls?"
"Almost did."
Roan looked at Randall who was silently walking behind us carrying one box while Lyall was carrying other.
"Didn’t this big guy stop you?"
I smiled as I started, "It’s a long story short, Randall was the leader of a group of bandits terrorising the forest routes of the Aurelius and they happened to run into the Duke’s family one day. Their daughter is a... special friend of mine she requested me to take care of them. I was going to wipe their entire group off but they asked for redemption so, I told them to come, settle here."
"You know the Duke’s family?!" Roan gasped.
I smirked, "I know the Queen of your kingdom as well, so what?"
"Are you creating a harem for yourself?" Roan asked.
"No, I believe in having one person to love and live with." I smiled making him stare at me.
"What?"
"I won’t believe you until I see you married to one woman and settled down." I laughed at his words.
"But, it’s because Master Ocean is so handsome, kind and strong that everyone gets attracted to him, Big Brother Roan." Remi piped in as he walked on my other side.
I reached out and patted his head making him chortle, Roan gave us a look.
"Do you usually use a spell to brainwash people or something?" Roan asked making me laugh.
"I don’t need to. If someone doesn’t like me it’s not my problem and if I don’t like someone then it becomes their problem, it’s as simple as that."
Roan brushed his arms as if he got chills and I chuckled before I spotted the mansion which was hidden in the forest with the security devices all around.
"Wow." Remi gasped as he stepped out of the treeline into the small clearing which had a small manor along with a garden filled with all kinds of flowers.
I stepped ahead and instantly sensed the people inside notice me, I could hear their rapid movements and as soon as I entered the garden the doors flew open.
"It’s Master!"
"Master is back!"
"Master is here!"
The voices resembling the sweet chimes of bells resounded in the garden and Remi and Roan gasped as the kids dashed out of the mansion followed by a man.
"Hold it!" The kids who were about to jump on me froze and almost forcibly composed themselves as they all stood in a line and bowed.
"Welcome home, Master!"
Their voices couldn’t hide their eagerness though.
"No, need to be so strict Kent." I told the assassin who walked up and bowed to me.
"I need to keep them in line, Master. They can’t keep jumping on you like that, it’s fine now since they’re kids but once they grow older it’ll be a hassle for you."
"You sound like an experienced governess." I commented making his face flush.
"Oh, please, Master. You’re the one who put them in my hands." He said and I looked at the kids.
"Come." I allowed spreading my arms and the kids grinned widely before they pounced on me with their laughter and giggles echoing in the air.
"Whoa... Elves and even Dwarves... Is this for real?" I heard Roan gasp.
"These kids are elves and dwarves?" Remi squeaked.
"We missed you, Master!"
"Yeah, but we did everything you told us to."
"We can fight now!"
They all started shouting all at once eagerly telling me about their progress and I couldn’t help but chuckle.
After a few minutes of the kids eagerly tugging at my arms and clothing they finally noticed the sweets that I had got for them.
We all shifted inside the manor and the servants inside served the cakes and sweets along with milk for the kids and tea for us. Randall left right after dropping the boxes and I couldn’t help but notice the small smile on his face which made me feel a little relieved.
He was the leader of his group and ever since I had defeated him he had turned into a normal person, a father of three daughters. I sometimes wondered if his fighting spirit might burn someday and he might do something but he never did anything. It was a shock that he and his daughters opened a sweets shop but they seemed to be assimilating well with others so, I was at ease.
"It’s quite peaceful here, isn’t it?" I sighed looking at the brightly smiling kids and inhaling the scent of the flowers and tea in the air.
"Oi, Master, you have elves and dwarves here as your kids?" Roan asked.
"Yes."
"What other people have you gathered around this town?"
"Hm... There are more to come," I answered making his face go slightly pale.
"That organisation of yours is for all of these people."
I nodded, instead of an organisation I would call it a charity foundation whose base had completed. Now, all I had to do was absorb as many hands as possible to keep it going.
"Master, how have you been?" Sylvia asked, "We were waiting for you all this while."
I smiled placing my hand over her head ruffling her hair making her smile.
"I’m sorry, I got a little late but I’m happy that you all worked hard in the time that I was away."
Her eyes lit up and her small fists curled up as she looked at me, "Yes, now I can speak four languages including the kingdom’s language and I can use twin daggers."
"Oh ho, that’s excellent."
"Master! Master! I can also speak three languages now and I can shoot arrows precisely on the targets!" Liam, another elf boy shouted and soon the kids started telling me as how they were now able to use weapons and fight.
"You have also turned them into fighters?" Roan commented.
"Erm... Master, who are they?" Sylvia asked.
"This one looks like a bandit." Rowan said pointing at Roan making me laugh and Lyall to cough to hide his laughter.
"Oi, I’m not a bandit. I was a priest."
"Are priests usually like this?" Viella wondered looking at Roan and he in turn looked at me.
It was amusing, the kids had seen only bad people so, I thought maybe they would be wary of new people but it seemed as though they were starting to grow out of their fears.
"Ah, this one looks young!" Rowan said taking Remi’s hand.
"Ah... My name is Remi."
"Remi, I’m Rowan."
Everyone started introducing themselves and chatting with each other while I sat in my place sipping tea and eating some snacks.
"Master! Master! Can you read us all a book?" Sylvia asked with a book in her hand.
"Yes, Master, please read to us!"
"We loved it when you read the last story to us!"
"Please, read us a story, Master!"
"I feel betrayed here, I’ve been reading you guys story like every night and now that Master is back, you’re asking him?" Kent spoke up making the kids pout.
"Eh! But we wanted to hear the story from Master."
"Big brother sleeps halfway and doesn’t even complete the story." Cyrus said.
"That’s because I get exhausted by taking care of you brats!"
"It’s fine, I’ll read." I said and the kids cheered up and huddled together, Remi and Roan also were dragged down on the carpet and I saw Lyall and Kent taking a seat too.
I opened the book in my hand and started reading the story. It was about a sailor who set out to the seas seeking for friends and adventure.
