Chapter 105: 104. Welcome Home (5)

It was around a few months ago when Silas had been pestering me to go visit the Mage’s Tower and I decided to go.

It was obvious that Father and Rune weren’t going to let me go alone fearing that Silas would keep me there.

So, they were going along with me.

"Reina, whatever he says don’t decide to stay at the Tower, all right?" Rune spoke up.

"Yes, you can learn magic from home." Father added.

I hummed along as they kept talking before the carriage came to a sudden halt and the horses neighed loudly.

Father peeked out and the knight who was on the horse trodding beside the carriage seemed like he was distressed with the sight in the front.

"Your Grace, please stay inside." He spoke up.

"What’s the matter?"

"It’s the bandits."

My father’s face paled as he saw me and Rune.

"Ca-Can you all handle them?" He asked.

"We’ll protect you with all we’ve got!" The knights vowed before he and the other knights rushed ahead.

My father peeked out and frowned before he looked at me and Rune.

"You two stay in here. Rune, take care of Reina." He told us before he opened the carriage.

"But, Father-"

"Just stay in here, Rune. Protect your sister." He said before he stepped down and closed the door shut.

Rune seemed extremely worried as he held me against his side in a protective manner, I could hear his heart beating hastily as the sounds of shouts, curses and swords clanging resounded around us.

Suddenly the carriage jolted and the door was ripped open revealing a man with large shoulders, bulky arms dressed in the ragged tunic and trousers.

"Get down." He commanded.

"You can take all you want, just don’t hurt my sister." Rune said and the bandit frowned looking at me.

"Get down now!" He shouted and Rune and I out of the carriage.

"Hand over everything valuable." He ordered.

Rune and I looked at each other and then at Father who was fighting against the bandits. His head turned as if noticing us in danger and his eyes went wide.

He slashed at the bandit he was fighting and ran towards his. The bandit noticed father and blocked his sword with his large one and slashed at him. My father narrowly avoided the slash and Rune took the chance. Rune grabbed the sword from the nearby fallen knight and slashed at the bandit.

"Reina, father, run!" He shouted.

"Rune!" Father shouted as the bandit whom Rune had hit seemed to have been enraged and he rushed towards him.

Father tried to step ahead but the bandit swung his leg kicking in his stomach and grabbed Rune’s wrist smacking the sword off. He rose his hand to smack Rune in the face and it felt as if my blood has suddenly turned into ice.

Everything seemed to move in slow motion but the faces morphed in pain and panic filled my eyes before the icy chill burst out of my body.

The bandit froze on spot with only his hand that had gripped Rune’s hand normal. Rune yanked his hand back and then looked at me with a shocked expression. Father sat up cradling his abdomen and looked at me.

"Re-"

"Stay back." I spoke as I walked ahead where the bandits were practically massacring our knights.

I created the ice lances and shot it at the bandits making them turn. I had the power of Dragon but I had made it a rule that it was only for my Ocean’s form. Currently, my anger was rising so badly that I might even go ahead and get rid of them altogether.

"Wha-What is that?!"

"Look, it’s that girl!"

"Y-Young Miss!"

"Get in the back, Knights of Aurelius." I commanded and the knights who belonged to the family quickly scrambled away.

"Where the hell are you running off to, cowards?!"

"Get that girl!"

The bandits’ focus shifted to me and they started running towards me.

"Reina?!" I heard my father shout before I used the Frost Explosion spell making the entire portion of the road along with the bandits freeze over.

I felt a little dizzy but I stayed conscious and carried out the task scheduled for the day. Silas grew concerned after he’d heard what happened on the way and sent us back through teleportation.

The next day, I heard through Viscount Ainsworth about the gang of bandits that were terrorising the forest paths of Aurelius.

I got reports about the casualties and the robberies that they had done and it was enough for me to decide to step out at night.

I put on the sapphire earstud and got into my Ocean’s form before putting on the black cloak and activated my wings and the invisibility brooch before I leapt out of the window rushing towards the forest.

It was a large area and even nighttime so, all I needed to find was the place where the fire would be burning, enough fire that would warm around thirty people.

I spotted it pretty soon from high up and saw the tents along with the loud noises that came from the small clearing below me. I turned the invisibility off and decided to start my work.

I leapt down and the flap of my wings caused the burning fire to nearly go out and the men who were around gasped and fell back watching me land.

"Wh-Who the hell are you?"

"How dare you come here?!"

"Do you even know who we are?!"

"Right, you’re the ones who are disturbing the peace in my land. You even dared to lay your hands on the ones who you should’ve steered clear of." I spoke.

A few of the bandits rushed ahead with weapons and I used water slicers to slice their weapons and limbs off. The shouts of surprised and horror-filled cries resounded in the night air.

The men around who were left picked up the weapons and stood near the tents.

I could see the women and children inside the tents as they were peeking out with scared faces.

One man with a large built stepped ahead with a huge pickaxe and glared down at me.

"I don’t know who you are but you’re going to die for messing with me and my men." His voice was quite loud and brash but I was unfazed.

He rushed towards me and I stood in my spot not moving and waiting for him to come. He raised his large axe aiming to slam down over my head and I rose my hand grabbed the sharp edge of the axe.

The shockwave of the impact travelled through the air and the men around who saw this stared dumbfounded.

Even the man attacking me seemed like his eyes would fall off their sockets.

I clenched my fingers on the blade and the sound of the metal crunching echoed painfully in the air before I ripped the chunk of the iron and the man stumbled back.

I threw the crushed iron pieces in my hand on the ground and he stared at me with wide eyes.

I rose my hand and the water slicers appeared in the air, the man looked once behind him before he swung his shattered axe at me. I stepped back avoiding it and sliced the wooden handle of the axe off.

The man stood back up again and picked the sword from nearby and faced me with his pupils quivering and body trembling.

"Wha-What kind of monster are you?"

"The one who protects their family even if I have to wipe this world out." I answered making him clench his teeth.

"Well, I’m the same. I can’t let you harm anymore of my men than you already have." He spoke and I shot the water slicers chopping the sword into pieces making him stumble back.

I summoned up countless water slicers and looked at the man, "So, your family and comrades are people and what about others?"

The man threw away the useless sword and ran towards me with his fist ready. I sidestepped as he shot his fist ahead and swung my arm and struck my fist into his chest hearing his ribs crack and his choked breath leaving his mouth.

He flew away and slammed against a tent making it fall and the people around to shout and gather at the side of him.

The man was still alive and clutching at his chest with his face morphed into the expression of agony.

"Papa!"

"Papa, are you all right?"

"How dare you hurt our father?!"

The three girls who seemed like they were in their late teens to mid twenties stood up with daggers, a sword and bow and arrows stood up facing me.

I narrowed my eyes to them and created a large water ball before sending it their way as they rushed towards me.

The three got trapped into the ball of water and tried to move but it was of no use. This spell was especially to trap the opponent and then drown then to death.

"Wait! Not my daughters!" The man cried out and then coughed out blood.

He scrambled to his feet and then looked at the huge water ball with wide, terrified eyes.

"My daughters. You, I-I will do anything. Kill me if you want but let them go! They’re innocent, please, I beg you!"

He shouted as he staggered towards me and I released the water ball making the girls fall to the ground coughing and wheezing.

"Gina, Viny, Sally!" The man rushed over to his daughters.

I walked up to him feeling the chilly night air make my cloak flap behind me and stood in front of the man who was holding his daughters.

"It would take me only a few seconds to wipe all of your existences off the face of the earth." I spoke up making him look up at me.

"You loot and terrorise the paths and have even killed many innocents, so, me killing you all is justified."

The man’s eyes widened and he opened his mouth but I cut him off before he started.

"But, I won’t do so if you give me your word that you will never commit such crimes again."

"Say, will you choose redemption or death?" I asked as my Dragon’s Presence whipped up making the people fall to their knees because of the pressure.

The man looked down at his daughters and then around him as the people were looking at him with pleading eyes.

"W-We won’t do it anymore." He said and I looked down at him.

"Y-You have my word, I swear it in my name Randall Wolfe." He shouted.

"If you ever break it then, I will make sure to keep my word." I spoke and lifted the Dragon’s Presence.

"But, what are we supposed to do now?"

"We are the outcasts whom the towns or villages don’t accept."

The people grew concerned as they looked at each other and I sighed looking at the people which consisted of families as well. freёweɓnovel.com

"If you all are willing to start anew then I can grant you a place where you can live respectfully and earn enough to feed your families." I offered making the people look at me with wide hopeful eyes.

"I-Is that really possible?"

I told them about my town that was still a work in progress and asked them to go find a place for themselves in that town. The people were hesitant at first but the aspect of having a normal life made them pack their belongings and travel to Oasis.
