Chapter 114: 113. Justice For A Friend (2)

[Giver of Gifts has assigned you a quest.]

[Bring justice to the victims of corruption going on in Eden University.

Reward: Telekinesis.

Failure: Loss of trust of your closest people.]

I didn’t understand the failure but I knew Rune was relying on me along with those other victims. It would really give my morale a damage if I failed.

Besides, telekinesis was a really convenient power. It would work wonders.

"You should go back to your room and have some rest, Brother Rune. Your sister will take care of things for now." I said as I walked up to the balcony of my room.

"Wait, you promised that we will do it together!" He said as he followed me and I chuckled as I put on my earstud.

"Yes, we are doing it together but I can’t make you work when you look so sickly and exhausted. Rest well for tonight, I will go and see your friend and tell you what we are supposed to do tomorrow, okay?"

He pursed his lips and I sighed, "It’s fine, I know you and your friends have to go to Eden soon but I promise you. Your friend will also return soon and he will be respectfully welcomed back."

"... We don’t want to return without him." Rune said making me smile.

"Then write a letter to extend the leave for one more week and send the message to your friends as well."

He nodded before I climbed on the railing and heard him say, "Be careful."

I smiled back at him, "Go and rest, Brother. Good night."

I flew over to Clive mansion and spotted a few assassins whom I had planted for Luke’s protection.

I landed in the balcony and saw the doors already open, the boy sitting inside quickly stood up as I walked in.

"You shouldn’t leave those doors open like this, Luke. It’s dangerous."

"I-I was waiting for you." He said and I nodded before gesturing him to take a seat and I sat down too.

"W-Would you like some tea or anything?" He asked and I shook my head.

"I’m here to listen to your decision."

Luke licked his lips before he looked at me with a determined expression.

"Will you really keep your word about protecting my friends and family throughout this whole ordeal?"

"I fulfill my promises, Luke. Once you join my side you will be protected even after this ordeal is done."

"Wh-What am I supposed to do after this all is done?"

I smiled, "We should first focus on the matter at hands."

"All right, I will do as you say." He announced and I smiled at his decision.

"You won’t do anything alone,"

"Pardon?"

"There are your friends who have put things on line for you so, from now on you all will act as a team."

"So, will you meet everyone?"

"Yes, I will see them. Besides, I’m coordinating with one of your friends already so, if I couldn’t come then he will take care of things."

His eyes went wide as he heard that and asked, "My friend? Who?"

"Rune Aurelius."

"Rune?" His eyes glowed before he asked, "Did he ask you to help me?"

"Yes,"

Luke looked down at his hands with a smile on his face before he clenched his fists and looked at me with a serious expression.

"So, what am I supposed to do first?"

"Arrange a meeting tomorrow with your friends."

"But, they have to return to Eden tomorrow."

"They won’t, just call them over in the noon. I will drop by and tell you all the first step of the plan."

"Yes? All right, I understand. I will do as you say."

"Good then take some good rest for tonight. I’ll see you tomorrow." I said as I stood up.

"A-Are you leaving?"

I looked at him and smiled, "I need to make preparations for your tasks from now on so, that’s why I need to go address the second team which will act as your and your friends’ shadows."

"Our shadows?"

"Yes, a team that will protect you from dangers when you will be on the battlefield."

Luke gave me a confused expression at first before he nodded as comprehension settled in. I gave him a nod before I turned and walked towards the balcony.

"Wait, wh-who are you? I don’t even know your name."

I climbed over the railing and looked back at Luke with a smile.

"I guess it was quite strange not introducing myself beforehand but you will know why I don’t do that." I said and he tilted his head to one side looking slightly confused.

"Yes?"

"It’ll be a pleasure to work with you, Luke Clive, I am known as Baron Ocean Ryujin."

His eyes widened as I told him my name before I leaned back feeling my wings flap once and take me high up in the air.

I saw his shocked face before I turned and made my way back to the Ryujin mansion where the second team was waiting.

I landed in front of the group of ten people that stood on the training ground, they straightened up as soon as I appeared.

"Welcome back, Master." All of them bowed greeting me in unison.

I looked at their faces and gave them a nod.

"I will keep it short since you already know what the plan is."

"Your utmost priority will be the child assigned to you and under no circumstances are you to show your faces to them or kill in front of them. If they’re in danger help them and if you think that matters will go out of hands take the child and retreat immediately. Do you understand?"

"Yes, Master."

"I hope you know what happens if you fail."

"Yes, Master." Not a hint of hesitation was sensed in their voices.

They were ready to die if they failed their mission.

"Are there any questions or doubts regarding your roles or the places you have been assigned to?" I asked.

"None, Master."

"Good, you have the names and the target places given to you already so, your work will start tomorrow. Make sure to protect and kids and come back safely."

"Yes, Master!"

I had arranged a backup team which would work in case of emergency and that team included my wild cards who were ready to create a bloodbath or explode places. I wanted to avoid their interference and hoped for smooth success.

"All right, dismissed!"

The team dispersed and I turned to see Lyall standing there with his hands at his back.

"Have you got the things I told you about done?"

"Yes, Master. Everything is in place, we will move as soon as the time comes." He answered.

"Good." I said before I walked towards the mansion.

Our opponent wasn’t a normal person nor a normal aristocrat who would sit still after being messed with so, I had devised the proper steps in order to keep my side from being damaged.

Marquis Douglas Clark was the minister of education and home affairs and also was on the board of trustees so he held a significant influence over the education system as well as on the future generations of the kingdom.

Douglas under the guise of making a perfect education system had planted his people in the Eden’s administrative office. Those people accepted bribes from other wealth noblemen in turn giving the privilege to those who had money and those who were there on the basis of merit were ignored.

Apart from that, Douglas had also opened up several ventures which claimed to be for entertainment purposes but what went on inside those places was worth inspection.

I had my team dig up to a great extent and now I had the records that were hidden deep within the walls of the Eden. The records of their corruption and wrongdoings were now in my hands.

It wouldn’t even take me a day to bring Douglas down and drag his name through the mud but I had to make sure that the kingdom learnt a lesson and my one strike wouldn’t be able to do that. It would require the individuals who were standing up for justice.

Hence, I needed Rune, Luke and their friends to step into the arena and face it all so that I could serve it as a spectacle for the whole kingdom to see and also for the Queen to be pissed off.

Now, why the Queen?

Clark family was the branch of Esmertia, the Queen’s family so, needless to say that if the root was rotten then the fruits would also follow suit.

I was thinking of leaving her alone for the time being but it seemed like she and I couldn’t stay apart, I had to keep delivering blows to her and remind her that an opponent had stepped up their game.

The matter with the Grand Duchy hadn’t even quietened down and I was going to create an even larger explosion right in the heart of the kingdom.

The next day, after having breakfast at Aurelius mansion, I gave Dad and Viscount Ainsworth a briefing about the upcoming week. They were shocked at first but then they found it pretty normal.

"I wish that your efforts will be fulfilled, Lady Reina." Viscount said with a smile.

"I wish you the success too, my child. Both to you and Rune." Dad said and I nodded.

I had kept things from them in past about the things that I was doing and made them worry but now I guess I could coordinate well with giving Dad at a brief explanation of what I was up to, so that he wouldn’t worry and focus on his work properly.
