Chapter 117: 116. Four Dark Horses (1)

I pushed the hood that covered my head back and pulled the mask that concealed the lower half of my face before I looked at the kids who were also my four dark horses for this game.

Luke, Ralph and Derrick seemed shell shocked as they stood still like statues while Rune who was used to seeing Ocean’s face occasionally was normal.

"Wow... How old are you?" Ralph asked.

"Are you really the Baron?" Derrick asked and I chuckled.

"I wonder why everyone who sees my face asks of my age. Intelligence and age are not equal components." I smiled making their faces go red.

"You’ve seen my face Luke so, why do you also have that expression?" I asked looking at Luke whose face was also red.

"We-Well, it was dark at that time so..." He stuttered and I smiled.

"Should I keep my face covered then?" I asked.

"Stop it, Re-Ocean." Rune spoke up, "Didn’t you say you will explain the plan?"

"All right, Young Master Rune. I will get back to the point. Why don’t you all sit down?"

The boys hesitantly took seats while I stood at the head of the table looking at Rune and Luke who sat on my right and Ralph and Derrick who sat on my left.

I pulled out the papers that I had kept into my best and placed it down on the table before looking at the four boys in front of me.

"I will warn you beforehand, for me my plan is my first priority if you mess up while working you retreat and the second team will come in and complete the work but if you purposely try to mess with my plan then pray for your lives." I warned them with a smile and Ralph and Derrick gulped.

"Am I clear?"

"Yes."

"Good, now here. This is the detailed plan and layout of the places you’re supposed to go."

I handed the four boys their respective plan before I put down the four pieces of papers.

"First shift, is your work Ralph Greene."

"Pardon, me?!" He gasped and I nodded.

"You will be paired with two of my people, they will protect you and help you with your work. You just have to do just as the plan says. If there’s any problem or trouble that you think you can’t solve as your helpers if even they can’t do anything then call for Plan B."

"Plan B?"

"Yes, that’s the second team. But you must make sure to leave the place before that team arrives, all right?"

"What if I somehow fail to get out?"

I shrugged my shoulders, "That team is assigned to destroy that place without any discrimination."

Ralph’s face paled as I said that.

"Are you having second thoughts?" I asked and he gulped.

"Don’t worry if you fail to get out your helpers will pick you up and make a run for it, so, you’ll eventually be fine, don’t worry. I just told you the worst case scenario."

"But it’s still dangerous. What if we get caught?" Derrick asked.

"Why do you think you’re being aided by professionals? They are given even more detailed instructions on what to do during different circumstances. You might fail to know what to do but they will take care of you."

"We’re not working together though." Luke pointed out.

"Of course not, you all are on his radar so, even his men would be on look out for you. But it’s more likely that he won’t be expecting that you would choose this approach instead of your usual non-violence path."

I looked at Rune, "The victims won’t dare to come ahead unless you show them that you hold the power to make a change."

"Just like you all, they also might have done all they could to fight against it but the defeat would have been crushing for them. Now, it’s up to you to give them hope to fight again that’s why you all have to do it." I explained.

The four boys looked at me as I explained the further plan. There were four places that I had selected to be destroyed and I was going to do this without giving Douglas a chance to calculate any way to escape.

My plan would drop on him like a nuclear bomb.

"You all will act together and the devices that I will give you, you will make sure to bring them back and whatever happens do not indulge in any time-consuming fight or anything that would blow your identity. You understand?"

It was good to be planning and leading like this, it gave me the feel of my past life.

"And if you are fighting someone make sure he’s completely knocked out or dead before you move on. Don’t leave any loose ends and return to the place I tell you to."

The boys nodded and I sat down as they read their plans that I had spent in making.

"I will give you a brief overview about the layouts of the places you will be going to do make sure you memorise it thoroughly if you want to have a smooth entry and exit."

"Yes."

The four went on to reading the material while I looked at the chess game where there was one black king and several white pieces which were ready to take him down.

Time was the essence for my plan as always, they had to act as one in different locations and must finish their tasks before they could make an escape.

After explaining the whole thing I told the boys to relax for the night.

"Wait, Master Ocean." Luke called me before I could wrap up.

"Yes?"

"Um... We know that Marquis has a very wide network and has many spies all over so..."

His eyes drifted over to the doors of the library.

"Can it be possible for his spies to be at our houses as well?"

I smiled at his question, "I’ve already taken care of that."

They stared at me with wide eyes before they blinked as if trying to tell their brains that it was a normal thing now.

"So, there were spies in our houses?"

"Yes."

"Did you kill them?"

I didn’t answer as I kept a small smile on my face making their faces go pale.

"His network is good enough but I keep growing everyday, you have no idea of how deep my roots have started to grow. Be happy, those who chose to side with me won’t have me as an enemy at least."

My eyes briefly met with Derrick’s and he stiffened up.

"Your helpers will meet you at noon. Don’t expect them to be on your side all the time, they will work according to the situations so, you will also have to act your role. And, I’ll repeat this again, everything is calculated according to the time so, make sure to complete your work in time, all right?"

"Yes,"

"Good," I booked and then looked at Rune.

"Then, I will see you after you finish your mission. Good night."

"Master Ocean?" I stopped and looked at Rune who placed down the layout of the establishment he was supposed to go to.

"Um... I might not be able to enter this place even with magic devices." He said as he placed down the layout of Douglas’s house on the table.

"My people are adept at climbing walls with weight on their backs, and you don’t have to worry about their performance. I’ll be on the spot if even the second team screws up."

"You will go yourself?!" Ralph gasped and I smiled.

"I’m the one leading this team, aren’t I? So, if my teammates are in danger then it’s only natural for the leader to step in the game."

"Anything else?" I asked as I leaned my hands over the table and the boys once again went over their plans again.

"If you suddenly get some doubt use this to contact me," I said as I pulled out the four brooches from my vest.

I handed them each one and gave them instructions on how to use it.

"We-We can really contact you with just pouring a little bit of mana into this brooch."

"It’s a special communication device restricted to me and the people who know my face. But let me warn you, this thing can is solely connected to my communication brooch so, if anyone of you lost this make sure to let me know immediately."

They looked at their devices and then at me.

"Also, I can understand if you feel scared or intimidated so, you can just reach back to me if you feel like you can’t do it or if you’re backing away. I can make some last minute adjustments but once you’re on the site you can’t back out. Understand?"

They nodded and I smiled, "Also, you can just talk to me for further assurance if you can’t calm yourself during the night. I’ll listen to your worries."

They four stared at me with and I stretched my arms above my head.

"I’ll be leaving for now, I have mountains of paperwork left to do."

I cracked my knuckles and my neck muscles before I pulled my hood on along with my mask and started walking towards the door.

"Master Ocean," I turned and looked at Luke who had followed me.

"I... I don’t know how much to thank you for your help. I will try my best to live up to your expectations for this job as well as for the work that you are going to give me in future." He said and I smiled before I placed my hand over his head slightly ruffling his hair.

"I’ll be looking forward to working with you then."
