The Kingmaker System-Chapter 124 - 123. Making New Friends (2)
Chapter 124: 123. Making New Friends (2)
I teleported over to Fairisles mansion and nearly made Eric fall back as I landed a few feet away from him on the training ground where he was training.
"Ma-Master?!" He gasped and I tilted my head.
He still called me that at times.
"I have come to bring you to the place that I told you about."
"The place where I can make friends and train?" He asked and I nodded.
"B-But won’t they all be wary of me? I mean, I’m the Prince and all..." He seemed a little worried.
"There’s no need to worry about it, those kids wouldn’t care of who you are. As long as you are good to them they will become friends with you and you can train and have fun together." I said.
His face grew radiant as he heard that, he must be really excited to know that he could make friends without worrying about his status or about the intentions of the other people.
"Also, I am bringing another person over there who could be your ally for a long term."
Eric tilted his head to one side before asking, "Who?"
"You’ll see. Now, please go and change so that we could go. Also, please change into something simple." I said and he nodded before he turned and ran back inside the mansion.
"Master Ocean?" I heard a soft call and looked up at Lady Elise who stood in the window of the room where we sat the other day.
I flapped my wings and flew up to her.
"How are you, Lady Elise?" I asked and she smiled before she stepped back and I flew inside taking a seat on the window sill.
"I heard you are taking Eric to a place where he can make friends." She said and I nodded.
"I will take you there some day too."
She smiled as she heard that, "I’ll be waiting."
"I was worried that Eric might never be able to make friends and kept wondering all the time that whether it will be possible for Eric to make some friends with a few noble children without being worried about being taken advantage of." She admitted and I smiled.
"Don’t worry, those kids may not be from noble background but they’re really sweet and I’m going to introduce Prince Eric to my brother so, they could also become good friends."
"Your brother? You mean Young Master Rune Aurelius?"
"Yes, my brother is a really nice person and he also stands up for his friends despite the circumstances. You must have known that from how he stood beside his friend Luke Clive when he was in trouble."
Elise’s smile almost made her eyes glisten with tears and she reached out holding my hand.
"I and my son must be blessed to have you in our lives, Master Ocean."
I chuckled, "Blessing, huh? I guess so." fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
Considering that two Goddesses and one Archangel were keeping an eye on us. So, it must be a blessing at least for these two.
[Goddess of Wisdom says that you are specially blessed since you are able to talk to them.]
[Defender of Divine Glory agrees with Goddess of Wisdom.]
"I don’t think so," I thought.
[Giver of Gifts says that you shouldn’t undermine yourself.]
"Master Ocean?" I heard Eric’s voice and I turned to see him back in the training ground fully dressed.
"Then, please allow me to leave for now, My Lady." I said and she nodded.
"Let’s meet again." She said and I smiled before I leaned back and landed softly on the ground.
"Here." He said before he presented the cloak that I had given him the other day.
I took it and placed it over my shoulders, though I had another one at home, I had left without it thinking it would be fine but I couldn’t help but feel something amiss without a cloak around my shoulders.
"Shall we go now?" Eric asked looking so eager that he was shifting his weight from one foot to another.
"Yes,"
"Yes!" He quickly turned ready to leave.
"We’re not going that way, Your Highness." I said and he turned to look at me.
"Pardon?"
I stretched my hands to him and he tilted his head looking confused.
"I cannot take you by carriage or teleportation so, we would have to take a flight there."
"Flight?..." His eyes slowly grew wide as comprehension settled in.
"You mean, we are going to fly!"
I smiled, "Yes."
His grin widened before he quickly took my hands and I chuckled before crouching a little and plucking him off the ground in Princess style.
"Whoa... This position is..." He gasped and I smiled.
"Bear with it for a while," I said as I activated the invisibility spell and my wings before we took off.
Eric flailed a little before he settled in and looked down at the view as I flew towards the Eldarf mansion.
"Wow... I never knew the view from such a height would be so beautiful!" Eric said and I smiled.
"Is this what you always see, Master Ocean?" He asked.
"Yes, and there are a few things that I need to tell you before we reach there, Your Highness."
"Yes?"
"Those kids are special ones so, I hope you don’t judge them based on their appearances."
"Special ones..."
"Yes, they have suffered a lot in the past but now they are recovering from it and building their own strength. They might be a big wary of you at first but you approach them kindly then they will surely open up to you. Also they are younger than you so, please mind that."
"Younger than me?"
"Yes,"
Eric seemed a little expectant and I added, "I will leave it up to you to how you want them to address you as."
His eyes glowed and he nodded.
"All right!"
I saw the forest below me as I slowly lowered us and I landed in the small meadow which encircled the beautiful manor.
"Wow..." Eric gasped as he saw the manor and I let him down deactivating the invisibility spell.
In almost a few seconds of me landing, I heard the sounds of shuffling from inside and the kids came running out.
I heard gasping before I stepped ahead and the kids flew over and latched onto my arms, legs and clothes.
"Master, is back!"
"Welcome back, Master!"
"We missed you, Master!"
I chuckled as they all shouted at the same time and I saw Kent sighing as he approached us.
"All right, all right, now you kids get off of Master." He started plucking the kids off of me.
"Hm? You’ve brought another person, Master?" He said as he looked at me and even the kids looked at Eric who stood shell-shocked.
"Ah, your other friend is here too!" Sylvia said and I looked at Rune who stood on the porch with the look of shock just like Eric.
They weren’t expecting to see each other or the elves and dwarves so, I guess their reactions were normal.
"Why don’t we all head inside and do the introductions?" I suggested.
"Yes!" The kids cheered before they turned and started leaving and I turned to Eric.
"Those kids are..." He gasped pointing at the kids.
"I told you they are special."
"You’re really taking care of them."
"Yes, now, do you want to come along or... not?" I asked.
Eric stared at the kids who were entering their manor before he looked at me.
"I’ll come."
I smiled as I gestured for him to come along.
He walked behind him and I looked at Rune who was still on the porch.
"I... didn’t expect this." He spoke and I patted his shoulder.
"See past their physical appearances." I said, "if you can’t accept them then, it will be hard to accept me as well."
Rune gasped as he looked up at me but I walked inside.
He knew that I had the Dragon’s blessing but he didn’t know that I had inherited the Dragon’s bloodline and Dragon Heart as well. I was half Dragon and half human at this point.
Rune and Eric followed me inside the drawing room where the kids waited eagerly and shyly.
"M-Master, who are they?" Rowan asked right away pointing at Rune and Eric.
"These two big brothers are my friends and from now on they will be here to play and train with you."
There was a long moment of silence as the kids looked at each other before Cyrus asked.
"Will they really play with us?"
I looked at Eric and Rune and asked, "You will, right?"
"Yes." Rune said.
"... Yes." Eric answered too.
The kids cheered up easily at the prospects of having new friends and I took a seat on the chair while the servants served me some tea.
"I-I’m Rowan!"
"I’m Viella!"
"My name is..."
All of the kids at once gathered around the two older boys making them get a little flustered.
"One by one, kids!" Kent chided and the kids pouted before they obliged.
I saw as the kids introduced themselves and told a little bit about themselves or about the things that they loved eating.
"What about you, big brothers?" The kids asked looking up at Eric and Rune with twinkling eyes and I put my elbow on the table with my chin in my palm as I watched them.
"Um... My name is Rune and I..." His eyes drifted over to me.
"I-I like steak."
"What about you, Golden big brother?"
"G-Golden?" Eric gasped as the kids now turned their gazes on him.
He seemed a little hesitant at first but it seemed as though he wouldn’t be able to be so wary around them for long.
I didn’t interfere as I knew the kids were too adorable to make anyone forget about their races and prejudices.
"I-I’m Eric and I like... strawberry cake..." He hesitantly answered.
"Same as me!" A few kids shouted and I could see them starting to make Eric and Rune feel slightly relaxed.
With this, I could give Eric the lesson about abolishing the practice of treating the other races as slaves.
And I hoped that they could become good friends and make some fun memories together.
