Chapter 142: 141. People With Potential (3)

"Dear Ocean Ryujin,

I am Hawke, I know this is not a way to introduce myself but since we haven’t found an occasion to see each other that’s why I am sending a message like this.

I, along with all the other Heads of Underworld have been waiting to meet the new leader who has been creating such huge waves. You seem to not like socialising since you never respond to any of our letters.

But, I hope you will be kind enough to grace us with your presence at the Spring-end meeting that will be held soon. I have sent you a formal invitation so, we all hope to finally see you.

Froish City Lord,

Hawke."

Froish City was in south and its leader was the person who called himself Hawke, he was in reality the person who controlled the iron ore mines and the supply of arms all across the kingdom. The nobleman named Wallace Nash who held the title of a Count.

There were three meetings held in a year by these Bosses, one was at the end of Spring, another was during the end of Fall and lastly, the one was at the Year-end. I was lucky that this meeting fell right on time of me making an appearance.

I adjusted the black mask that covered the upperhalf of my face and fixed my hair before Nora put the cloak over my shoulders with a pouty face.

Behind me stood the other three of the same team who were dispatched to Mordino and who also were dispatched alongside Rune and his friends for their mission.

Slater being the Cook and the other two who had the codenames Doctor and Sniper were Travis and Yugo.

Well, even they had sour faces and the reason for that was even after I had called them over to Herot they weren’t going with me for the meeting.

"Master... Can’t we go together?" Travis asked.

"Yes! We can just tag along as shadow support or just stay at a distance." Nora said.

"You can’t." I told them for the umpteenth time and sighed.

"This place can be attacked while I’m gone and since both Lyall and Drac won’t be here so, I’m leaving you guys to protect the people here."

"But..." Nora pouted and I placed my hand over her head ruffling her hair.

"I’ll be back till morning, guard this place while I’m gone, all right?" I asked.

"Yes, Master." She answered in a low voice and I smiled.

"Is Drac ready?" I asked.

"Yes, we brought him some clothes as you told us." Slater answered and I nodded before placing the invisibility brooch on my black jacket and wore the pendant with the teleportation device.

"Good. We’ll get going now, bring him." I said as I picked up the invitation.

"Master," I looked at Yugo who had spoken up, "Can we really not going along?"

"No," I answered making them all sigh.

Slater brought Drac in the room and I looked at him as he was dressed in all black with a mask that covered the lower half of his face and his hair covered by the black hood of his hooded tunic.

"Are you ready?" I asked and he nodded.

"You remember what I told you, right?" I asked and he nodded again.

"Come, we’re already late." I said as I stretched my hand to him.

He stepped ahead and grasped my gloved hand before I activated the teleportation spell.

The meetings usually were arranged by the Bosses as per the order and each city would be the place of meeting as per that order. The Spring-end meeting of this time was being hosted by Hawke that’s why he was the one who sent me the official invitation.

So, we had to travel to South and the location was Froish City.

Drac stumbled as we landed on the roof of a tall building and he almost toppled over if he hadn’t held my hand.

"W-Wow..." He gasped as he looked down at the nightlife of the black market.

"Let’s go," I said as I leapt down and he helped as I took him with me.

He fell over his butt as we landed on the side of the street making a few hands turn and I pulled Drac up to his feet.

"Follow me and don’t get lost." I said as I let go of his hand and he quietly followed me.

The letter contained the instructions of where the meeting would be held and I walked over to the large, lavish building. I stepped up the black granite steps and the two guards eyed me as I entered the place.

The sounds of clinking money and chattering along with cheers was enough to make me figure out what that place was.

"Whoa... What is this place?" Drac gasped as he looked around the blindingly bright place.

"A place to suck away people’s money and life, it’s called casino." I answered as I walked ahead with my hands in the pockets of my trousers.

"I’m surprised you’ve never seen such a place before," I said and he cleared his throat.

I spotted the red door which had the black design of a hawk and walked over to it.

The two huge guards who flanked the door intercepted me and I showed them the invitation before they opened the double doors.

I stepped inside and heard them stop Drac.

"He’s with me." I spoke up and the guards looked down at me with derisive and contemptuous looks in their eyes.

Mere humans daring to look down on a Dragon!

I activated my Dragon’s Presence making them step back and release Drac as they clutched their chests.

"Let’s go." I commanded and walked ahead with Drac in tow.

The dark corridor lay in front of us, at the end of which was a black door with a silver hawk insignia.

I walked ahead sensing several presences already inside the room, and also hearing their discussion.

"You think he’ll be here?"

"I don’t know, I did send him the invitation for this meeting."

"Did you send the invitation to Kyrell?"

"I did, but he sent it back saying that he serves Ocean Ryujin now."

"What is this Ocean Ryujin? He’s made a servant out of the man like Kyrell."

"Do you think he’s just an imposter or something? Someone who used some kind of trick to take over Izkar and then Herot?"

I reached at the door and placed my hand over it hearing someone announce my presence.

"He’s here."

I pushed the doors open and the people inside stirred.

The hall inside was lit up by the mana stones instead of the burning torches and it had a large circle shaped table with five chairs placed around it.

I sensed the three Mana presences flaring in the hall with the three seats already taken leaving the two empty ones.

It gave me a sense of Deja vu as I recalled the time when I had crashed the meeting that the Frosthail nobles were having.

"Ocean Ryujin makes an appearance." One of them spoke up as I walked in.

"Welcome, Lord Ocean." A man with silver grey hair and face covered with the silver mask stood up.

"Are you really the rumoured Master Ocean?" One of the men who sat there with a black mask covering the upperhalf of his face while his black hair streaked with white asked.

"I wouldn’t show up if I weren’t him." I spoke up as I walked over and looked at the two chairs.

"What a shame! We lost two of our leaders." The third man who had blonde hair spoke up.

"What a shame indeed!" I mumbled as I looked at the two empty chairs.

"That I don’t have a proper seat." I looked at Hawke.

"You have both the seats of Izkar and Herot so, you can sit on whichever as you please, Lord Ocean."

"Sadly enough," I said as I used telekinesis to pluck the chairs in the air making the three gasp.

"My insignia isn’t a raven," The chair which had the insignia of raven on its back exploded making the Heads to cover their faces.

"Nor is it a dagger." The second chair which earlier belonged to Douglas also exploded and the three seemed agitated.

"You-"

The blonde stood up and I used Dragon’s Presence on him, the pressure made him slump back in his chair and he clutched his chest.

"Lord Ocean!" Hawke shouted and I looked at him.

"Yes, Hawke?"

"Y-You are going too far."

"Says the one who couldn’t even place a proper seat for a guest whom he invited for the first time." I rebuked making him grit his teeth.

I lifted the Dragon’s Presence from the blonde guy making him wheeze as he inhaled deeply.

"Now, now, Lord Ocean. Don’t be so angry, we don’t know what your insignia is yet, you haven’t told us so, how could our Lord Hawke put out a chair?" The black masked man said.

"Right, my bad," I said making him smile.

"We can see that you’re really strong so, there’s no doubt that you are the one who took over two branches of the Underworld. So, please calm your anger."

His tone was slow and heavy, one would easily feel at ease hearing him speak but I knew better than to be swayed by it.

"Fine, if you say so, Lord Devil." I said making him smile.

"Lord Hawke, why don’t you ask for a chair for Lord Ocean for the time being and we can arrange the chairs in our meeting venues as per your insignia after you tell us, hm?" He suggested.

Hawke released a sigh and looked at his attendant making him bow and leave the hall.

"We apologise for the inconvenience that you faced so, I hope you will tell us about yourself." Devil continued and I smiled.

"Why don’t I start with introducing myself then?" I said making him smile while the other two looked slightly uneasy.

I plucked off the crest that I had made especially for this occasion from my breastpocket and placed it on the table before sliding it to the Devil.

"That’s my insignia and my name is Dragon."
