The Kingmaker System-Chapter 91 - 90. Rescue The Victims (1)
Chapter 91: 90. Rescue The Victims (1)
The room just like the doors seemed to be made of gold, each corner screamed of the grandiosity and splendour and while it seemed like it was blinding I could also see the sacrifices made for this.
The whole room reeked of incense scent and with the dim lighting. There were flower petals laying around and in the midst of it all the Tyrant was lounging in his large bed.
He seemed quite relaxed and unfazed about the upcoming war which made me wonder how he would find the gift that I and RA had prepared for him.
"Come, my little wild cat." He beckoned me and I walked ahead hoping that the timing would fit perfectly or I would have to knock him unconscious before he could do something to me.
I stopped at the edge of the bed and he tilted his head slightly. Even though, the body I was using was an illusory body yet, I could feel the sensation of bugs crawling on my skin as his gaze traveled over my body.
"I wonder where Amira found you but, it seems like I have found a good catch this time." Salem said.
"Come here." He ordered and I climbed on the bed.
I swallowed my disgust and sat down in front of him making him smirk.
"You... are you capable of casting magic skills?" He asked and my eyes for a moment went wide before I looked at him.
He figured it out. I was stupid to think that he would have missed my Mana presence the moment I entered the palace. Should I go ahead with Plan D now?
Escape and cause a huge ruckus as a signal to get the RA to move immediately?
"No need to be scared. Show me." He spoke and I was slightly confused.
Did he figure out that I was a Dragon or not?
Still, I did as he told and brought my hand out and made a small water ball making his eyebrows jump.
"Water, huh?" He stared at the water ball before smirking.
"I should have gifted Amira a gold mine as well,"
He figured out that I was a Mage but not that I was a Dragon. Thank God!
I sighed a breath of relief internally before continuing my frail boy
"I-I couldn’t do anything other than this, My Lord." I spoke in a low, feeble voice.
"There’s no need to worry about it, I could help increase your mana."
He, what?
"Pardon, Your Majesty?" I gasped and he smirked taking my hand which had the water ball. freewebnσvel.cøm
"I could make your mana grow to the point that you could create a much larger water source."
I didn’t know what he was planning but, increasing the mana capacity of a person was impossible. But if he was claiming something of that sort then, I should find out what he had been delving into. This couldn’t be anything good.
I dissolved the water ball and acted exhausted, I avoided looking at his eyes as my Dragon’s Presence was only getting the provocation with him around.
His fingers brushed over my throat and I gulped, "If you were an assassin I would have snapped your pretty little neck right away."
Fortunately, I made the marks of bruises on my neck for him to not notice that his choking had no effect.
But still, I couldn’t help but snort internally as I recalled the possibility of him dying in his audience room if he would have pulled something. I had planned his death for every moment in case he figured out what I was.
[Task complete.
Gain the attention of the King of Mordino.
Rewards received: Temporary growth of your body.]
I was starting to question my system’s IQ with how it planned stuff, maybe I should give some suggestions on how to operate stuff.
The feeling of Salem’s hand on my thigh made me stiffen up, regardless of me reminding myself that he couldn’t touch my real body it was still hard to stay still when something like this was happening.
I felt him leaning close to me and my Mana Heart started hammering loudly with my converged mana straining against its bounds.
What the hell was taking so long?!
The iciness started to settle in my bones and I was itching to rip Salem apart, he was completely off guard and he wouldn’t even notice what hit him.
His breath hit my face and I wondered with sheer disgust that would I lose my first kiss of this life to this bastard.
Just as I felt his nose touching mine and his hand growing closer and closer to my core, there was the sound of someone banging on the door.
I pulled away quickly making him growl and then glare at the door where the banging was incessantly going on.
"Your Majesty! Your Majesty!"
Salem got off the bed and stomped over to the door while I sighed a breath of relief and they made it in time.
He ripped the door open and I sat in my place looking at him choking one of his ministers who had come to disturb him.
"Y-Your Majesty, pl-please forgive us!"
"The-There is an emergency!"
"What kind of emergency was it that you dared to interrupt?" Salem thundered.
Be thankful, they saved your life.
"I-It’s... Lord Baudir."
"What about him?"
I concealed my self-satisfied smirk as I could imagine the scene that I had asked to be arranged.
"H-He is dead,"
"This is news?" Salem demanded.
"H-His body is i-impaled in the capital center!" His minister whose name I recognised to be Elhier blurted out.
"What?" Salem paused at this.
"Y-Yes, Your Majesty and along with him all of those who were present at the auction to buy slaves... Even their dead bodies are placed all over the capital in the same fashion."
Salem was quiet for a long minute before his shoulders started bobbing before he let out a hearty laughter.
"So, those rats have finally decided to come out of hiding and face me." He ran a hand through his blonde mane.
"Wha-What should we do of this situation, Your Majesty?" His ministers asked.
"If it’s war that those bastards want then I’ll grant their wish." Salem announced.
"Prepare soldiers and snuff those rats out. I shall personally see their demise."
Just as Salem said that I mentally announced.
Second step of plan - Declaration of civil war and distracting Salem: Success.
"Yes, My Liege."
The ministers bowed before Salem turned and walked up to me.
He reached out holding a strand of my hair on his fingers as he spoke, "It’s a shame that I couldn’t enjoy my time with you but once I’ve crushed those bugs, I will make sure to make it up, my little Lynx."
"Yes, Your Majesty." I replied with a smile and he smirked.
"Bring him back to his chambers." He ordered the servants and I got off the bed and was escorted safely back to the chambers where I was placed.
My mental state was still intact and so was my plan so, I was able to calm down in a few minutes.
Just as I was starting to relax I heard the soft knock on my door making me frown. No one else was supposed to come seek me out.
I walked over and opened the door finding a familiar face which looked up at me with slightly surprised eyes. It was a boy whom I had seen while I was being taken to Salem’s room. He looked really sympathetic and worried as he shifted his weight from foot to foot.
"Um... That..." I noticed a small case in his hand.
I stepped aside and gestured for him to come inside.
"Y-You are new, right? And you..." He looked at me up and down and seemed a little perplexed before he looked at me again.
This boy didn’t look past his teenage yet, he seemed like he’d experienced hell already.
"Y-You are not hurt?" He asked.
"Yes, His Majesty had to leave urgently." I answered and the boy blinked before he sighed.
"Thank God!"
"Who are you?" I asked.
"I’m Azmi." He answered.
"I’m Lynx."
"Here, take this." Azmi handed me the small case.
"It’s the medicine, it works on all kinds of wounds. His Majesty..." His expression twisted to a torturous one before he shook his head.
"You will need it." He said and I looked at his skinny hand which held his kindness.
I took the case from him before placing my hand on his head slightly ruffling his brown hair making him look at me with slight confusion.
"Thank you." I smiled and he smiled back before taking his leave and I walked back inside my room.
I changed my clothes and peeked out noticing the lack of guards before sneaking out of the harem building.
I hid under the bushes and made my way towards the granary which was the closest building and found a figure standing there.
"Swordsman." I called and the man straightened up.
"Master." Lyall replied.
I quickly walked up to him and he looked at me up and down.
"Nobody noticed you, right?" I asked and he nodded.
"Yes, I acted accordingly."
"Good."
I presented my hand to him and he pulled out the brooch which was hidden in his tunic.
"Here." He handed me the invisibility brooch.
I would need it to go in and out of the Prison building without getting caught, it was a good thing that I didn’t carry it on me or Salem would have noticed it right away because of the magic stone.
It was a good thing that I assumed the possibility of being checked at the entrance so, I had handed it to Lyall to deliver it to me when the time came.
I put the brooch on my tunic and noticed Lyall fidgeting.
"Di-Did he do something...?" He asked and I looked at him.
"He’s still alive." I replied and Lyall sighed.
"Return to your position. I’ll take it from here also, if anything happens leave the palace immediately."
He looked a little strained at my words but he bowed his head and replied ’Yes, Master’ before I turned and made my way towards my target, the Prison building to put the third step of my plan in action.
Rescue the victims.
