The Princess And The Lord-Chapter 1336: The Saintess
Chapter 1336: The Saintess
Lory’s expression stiffened as she tried to process the shocking news she had just received, once she calmed down she immediately checked the news about what the Saintess had done on her phone.
Just as Clift had said, news of the miracles the Saintess had performed was all over the news and it had gone viral so if there was anyone in the world who haven’t heard about the Saintess, they surely would hear about her right now.
Lory took a deep breath as she read the entire news. A moment later, a chilling thought crept into her heart that reminded her the feelings she got about Lazarus.
Birth and death are beyond human control, as mere mortals, our intervention is limited and nothing happens without severe consequences. Therefore, she dreaded the thought of how this would affect the entire world and this was a genuine concern from someone who had experienced it firsthand.
"This... won’t end well.." Lory muttered.
Jay heard and looked back. "You mean the Saintess?"
"Yes...and all of us, I wonder how much he paid for this power" Lory’s memory brought her to the past when Arthea warned her.
’Where there is death, there is always death’
Lory had met people who dared to interfere with God’s sovereignty like her mother, Lorenna, Arthea and Lazarus but none of them ended well.
There are some things in this world that cannot be touched.
Lory suddenly felt tired, she tucked her phone into her coat and said, "I want to take a nap," she put on her sunglasses and lifted her hoodie then folded her arms and leaned against the door, soon she fell asleep.

___Somewhere in the city of Wellington, Dolza.___
In the Elysium that Lydia once visited, there was a forbidden area called the Domus Angelica. Inside the place was a white stone building decorated with marble pillars and large gold and silver stained glass windows, with a dome roof painted with images of a blue sky and white birds, and right below it was a statue of a white woman surrounded by flowers.
In front of the statue, a woman knelt with her hands clasped together. The woman bowed her head as she prayed solemnly. After a long prayer, her eyelashes began to tremble and her eyes slowly opened. Golden light penetrated the stained glass window and fell on her light blue eyes.
"Allinna, you need to rest..." a soft voice startled the young woman.
She turned her head and her straight platinum blonde hair fell over her chest, "Your Grace" she stood up and bowed her head politely.
The man standing upright with his back as straight as a pole. His wrinkles eyes are full of a vigor that makes him look decades younger than his real age, this man is Alexander Behrenn, the leader of The S.A.I.N.T. organization.
Alexander had the appearance of a kind and gentle old man. He was in his mid-sixties with dark gray hair and a mustache that blended with his beard. His silvery white robe made him look simple and modest, but a discerning eye would notice the exquisite fabric and intricate embroidery t on the robes indicated the robe’s price would not be cheap.
Alexander Behrenn given the title of the Great Wise Man from other religion’s leader. A simple title was given to a man who controlled all the religions in the world. the man himself rarely show himself in public, rumors circulating said that he was a person who was very devout to God, but if asked who he worshiped, he would answer that he only worshiped the highest power, whatever that means.
"Allina, I heard you’ve been praying for hours and skipped breakfast and lunch, if you keep this up, you’ll get sick." Alexander reprimanded her but his voice was full of indulgent and he looked at her warmly like a father to his daughter.
Alina, the Saintess of the S.A.I.N.T. organization, smiled shyly at Alexander’s gentle scolding. As an orphan, she felt fortunate to live under the guidance of someone like Alexander Behrenn. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
"They’re just exaggerating, Your Grace. I didn’t skip breakfast, I had a sandwich before praying," Alinna’s voice sounded soft and timid.
Because of the background she was raised in, Alinna found it difficult to change her nature, unlike Princess Lorient who always look calm and confident beyond her age, Alinna was shy and immature, but Alexander did not think it was a bad thing.
Her vulnerability easily arouses people’s instincts to protect her and people tend to lose their guard around her and that is the effect Alexander wants.
"Just a sandwich?" Alexander narrowed his eyes. "Enough? How long has it been since you last prayed?" Alexander raised his hand and checked the time on his watch.
Alinna glanced at the simple watch on Alexander’s wrist and her brows furrowed slightly. She felt sorry for Alexander having to wear an old watch that was too simple for a respectable person like him, but at the same time she admired how humble he was despite his position.
"It’s been more than three hours since you prayed here, you’ll get sick if you do it too often" Alexander looked at Alinna worriedly.
Alinna smiled weakly "Sorry, I guess I was too busy praying to the goddess that I lost track of time"
Alexander sighed. "I understand your concerns about the recent emergence of Bael into the world, but you must also take care of your health. Otherwise, who will help those poor people? You know, you are their only hope." Alexander remind her.
Alinna lowered her head and replied in a regretful tone "I understand, Your Grace"
"Okay, as long as you understand," said Alexander resignedly.
Alinna was silent for a moment before speaking again, "Actually, my sleeping time has become longer lately, I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been using the Goddess’ power more often lately or... there’s something else,"
he didn’t want to sound like he was complaining but she couldn’t help but worry and not only that, she also had memory loss several times but Alinna didn’t dare to tell Alexander because she thought it would only make Alexander worry even more.
Alexander’s eyes darkened, but only for a moment. Alexander held Alinna’s shoulder with a sad expression. "The power of a God is not something that can be easily wiel by a human body, so it’s no wonder you’re getting more and more tired. However, I don’t think it will endanger your life because if it were, the Goddess would have warned us. However, just in case, why don’t you take a few days off? How about I ask Salvo to accompany you?"
Alinna’s pale cheeks instantly turned red, "No, no need...he probably doesn’t have time anyway..."
"Hump, rubbish, he should feel honored to be given the chance to accompany the Saintess!" Alexander lift his chin and snorted loudly.
Coincidentally, Salvo de Rova entered the prayer room, his long blond hair gleaming like gold under the sunlight while his long robe fluttered behind his back as he stepped steadily into the room.
His deep blue eyes that remind her with the midnight ocean stopped on her face immediately a slow faint smile spread across his serious face.
"Oh, what a coincidence that the man came by himself before I could call him, it seems I’m not the only one worried about you, Saintess" Alexander teased.
Alinna’s face turned red until her neck she lowered her head so low until her chin was pressed against her chest.
"Salvo I gave Alinna a few days to rest, but I’m afraid she’ll get bored in her place, so why don’t you accompany her?" Alexander eyes did not welcome rejection.
Salvo without changing his expression replied in a flat tone, "It is an honor, but I don’t know if the Princess would mind if I interrupt her free time?"
Alinna shook her head vigorously as she answered enthusiastically, "I... I don’t mind, I don’t mind at all!" She realized that she had been too enthusiastic which was embarrassing, then she quickly changed her tone, "I mean... I would be happy if you would accompany me, besides I enjoy playing chess with you."
Salvo smile in amusement, "Then that’s a deal!"
Alinna averted her gaze from Salvo’s charming smile but unfortunately her efforts were in vain because anyone with eyes could clearly see that Alinna was smitten by the charming Knight.
"If... if there is nothing else to talk about I will excuse myself " Alinna bowed her head gracefully then left with long strides as if running away.
Alexander and Salvo watched Alinna leave in a hurry after she disappeared behind the closed door. Alexander’s gentle expression was replaced by indifference, no one knew what he was thinking, but Alexander didn’t care as long as he follow his order and didn’t betray him, nothing else mattered.
"I heard people’s opinions about the Saintess is getting better and better," Alexander clasped his hands behind his back.
"Yes, some people are even starting to think that she is the incarnation of the Goddess herself," Salvo replied flatly is not clear weather he happy or not about the news.
Satisfaction was evident on Alexander’s face, this was the result he had been waiting for. He stroked his beard and grinned, "Good... this is good."
"In addition, I received reports from our spies that there are strange movements in Harland," Salvo show trouble expression.
"Oh, what’s wrong?" Alexander’s eyes glint dangerously as he turned his gaze towards Salvo.
"As we know after King Lucas absent, several state affairs were delayed including several important projects, but a few days ago everything seemed to be back to normal..." suspicion clouded Salvo’s face.
"Maybe the Archknight took over an important matter for the king, I don’t think the Harland officials would question them since everyone believes the Archknight would never betray the King." Alexander didn’t feel anything strange about it.
Salvo was still hesitant, "I think so too, but I can’t shake the feeling that something is very wrong on our side like something is blocking our way." Salvo had felt this since the chaos that befell Aeon and Ethan Hamilton disappeared without a trace.
Then Salvo continued, "It all started with Ethan Hamilton’s mysterious recovery, then the strained relationship between the Hamiltons and the Augburns, the deaths of the Paladins in the Labyrinth and the deaths of the two Dragxtarns who were chasing Lydia Boyd, and finally the destruction of the Aeon Institute. All of this happened without any clarity on who was responsible for all of this and several of the perpetrators we suspected suddenly disappeared and we haven’t heard anything from our own people or Luxemborough!" The more Salvo talked, the more he realized how big a problem they were in.
Alexander actually felt the same way, he realized many problems that should have been easy suddenly became complicated, such as taking over the Ellecant Group and controlling the Hamilton family should have been easy for them but somehow they suddenly lost control when Ethan Hamilton survived then the stupid son from the Augburn family angered the Hamilton family which caused the two families to separate as a result they cannot interfere te ellecant group through the augburn family!
After that Ethan Hamilton went missing, sure they managed to bring him to Aeon but somehow he escaped again! Till this day there is still no news about him as if he dissapeared into a thin air.
"Do you think this is the Archknight’s doing?" Alexander’s face hardened.
Salvo shook his head. "I’m not sure. With King Lucas’ condition, they shouldn’t have had time to bother us. However, it’s hard to get any definite information since Harland has tightened security in the King’s city and even more so around Cestine Palace." He clenched his fists in frustration.
Alexander waved his hand, "There is no point in worrying about what has happened, we should gather the Paladins to solve this problem ourselves, if necessary send the constellations to handle this matter, tell them, failure is unacceptable," he said firmly.
Salvo knelt on one knee, then kissed the back of Alexander’s hand while saying solemnly: "Yes, Your Grace!"
