The test was successful but there was still a lot of work to be done to perfect the device before it was released to the public. Fargo sat on the main chair since he got the higher authority in this room since Lory hides her identity.

"So how is Victor Kross now?" Fargo opened the discussion.

Ethan, who was given the responsibility, answered: "After blocking MADD’s connection network to the center, we performed a five-hour operation until we were finally able to remove the device from Victor Kross’ head."

"What do you mean blocking the network to the center?" Leon was confused.

"I mean this device has a control center that after we tracked it, turned out to be in Luxemborough, but where exactly we still don’t know and we don’t dare to try further because we’re afraid of being discovered by the enemy," Ethan explained.

"Are you sure the enemy still doesn’t know we took MADD from Victor?" Fargo asked for confirmation.

"Is there a way to find out who has been implanted with MADD?" Lory asked.

Fargo leaned back in his chair and muttered, "So many things to do, so little time..." Fargo took a deep breath.

Forge pondered for a moment before turning to Thomas, "I want us to split into two teams. The first team will focus on investigating Bael and how to deal with that creature and the second team will focus on MADD, then Ethan..." Fargo pointed at Ethan, "Since you have the most knowledge of both, so you will be tasked with directing both teams, and Mr. Ackerson, I want you to supervise and assist Ethan in his duties."

Ethan was nervous about being given direct responsibility by the Archknight, but this was also his chance to fix his mistakes.

Thomas Ackerson and Ethan answered in unison, "Yes, sir!"

"Your...I mean Raven, wait a minute!" Ethan called out to Lory.

Lory and Zhao Li Xin stopped in their tracks and turned around waiting for Ethan. Ethan was a bit sour seeing Lory and Zhao Li Xin together but he understood his position, he didn’t have the right to feel this way moreover Lory and Zhao Li Xin were already husband and wife therefore, Ethan didn’t dare to act presumptuously in front of Lory and Zhao Li Xin, but sometimes the harder you try to hide, the more it shows.

Ethan rubbed his hands to ease his nervousness in front of Zhao Li Xin, "Um...I want to talk about Lilly" he whispered.

Lory swept her gaze around her before she spoke in a low voice, "Don’t worry about Lilly, we’ve taken precautions to ensure your family’s safety so you can work with peace of mind." Ethan felt relieved after Lory assured him, but he was reluctant to end their conversation since this was their first time interacting in months, unfortunately, he had no reason to stop Lory, especially in front of Zhao Li Xin. "Well, if you say so, I don’t have to worry... um, thank you for everything you’ve done for my family."

Lory noticed the strange glint in his eyes and she understood but that only gave her more reason to draw the line between them, "Don’t mention it, it’s all coincidence besides you are Lilly’s brother."

Ethan, was a smart man, so of course he understood what Lory meant, disappointment was evident in his eyes. Ethan dropped his shoulders as he smiled sarcastically. "I understand, um... then I’ll get back to work." He nodded politely at Zhao Li Xin and then walked away with long strides.

Zhao Li Xin could see the sadness radiating from Ethan’s back, he looked at Lory "He likes you" it’s not a question but a statement.

Lory raised her eyebrows then looked at where Ethan went and shrugged her shoulders indifferently, "He’ll be fine, it’s not his first time afterall..." Lory reminded Zhao Li Xin about Ethan’s relationship with Elena Reynolds.

"That guy seems to be easily attracted to a certain type of woman.." Zhao Li Xin spoke in a condescending tone.

"What type?" Lory asked.

"A man’s wife" Zhao Li Xin answered briefly.

Lory’s mouth twitched, "Yeah, he got that problem..."

After finishing their business Lory went home with Zhao Li Xin while Fargo had to stay at N.I.M.S. to finish some business. No one asked why Fargo’s two new assistants left without waiting for their boss, no one cared or felt strange since Archknights tend to act out of the ordinary.

While driving Lory remembered something and then turned the steering wheel "Oh yeah I want to show you where I used to go to school"

Zhao Li Xin’s flat expression suddenly lit up he answered enthusiastically "Okay, let’s go!"

Lory laughed hearing Zhao Li Xin’s excited voice he accelerated his car then not long after they arrived at a light gray building with a mix of ancient and modern designs. Lory was surprised the school design remained the same as she remembered.

They then stopped at the guard post for an identity check after seeing the Cestine Palace ID they were quickly allowed to enter.

Zhao Li Xin looked back at the large magnificent building decorated with glass windows and a cool garden where students sat and chatted.

"Did you wear a uniform like that too?" Zhao Li Xin imagined the young Lory in a blue blazer and a white knee-length skirt elegantly chatting with her friends in the garden with her friends.

Lory glanced at the students in uniform "Yes, we have four different uniforms according to the season and occasion"

"Do you have any photos from that time?" Zhao Li Xin didn’t want to miss the opportunity to know everything about Lory’s past no matter how small it is.
