The Spare's Second Chance in Apocalypse-Chapter 125: Ch : One Sided fate- Part 2
Chapter 125: Ch 125: One Sided fate- Part 2
Ethan’s grip on Rose’s face tightened, his fingers pressing down with enough force to leave deep marks. His golden eyes gleamed with quiet fury as he leaned in slightly, his voice lowering to a deadly whisper.
"I’m done playing games, Rose. You’re going to face your fate. Give up now, and maybe—maybe—I won’t break you completely."
His tone was devoid of amusement, sharp and resolute.
For someone who was sure Rose was his soulmate and was ready to do anything to prove it, he sure knew how to be rough with her. His grip hurt.
Rose let out a breathless chuckle, his lips curling into something between a sneer and a smirk.
"You think you can decide my fate? I am fate."
His words were filled with unfound confidence that made Selene feel shaken.
’All this bullshit about fate and what not! Can this man not talk about anything else for a chance?’
Selene, standing just behind Ethan, narrowed her eyes, her Insight scanning Rose’s movements, his energy, his very presence. A frown tugged at her lips.
"Ethan, be careful. He’s using some kind of mental ability—one that’s highly effective against humans. You’re not going to be able to counter it easily.""
She warned, voice steady but urgent.
Selene did not doubt Ethan’s powers, but she also knew that he had a fragile mind and heart.
Ethan scoffed.
"You think he can do anything to me?"
His grip didn’t loosen. If anything, his fingers pressed deeper into Rose’s skin.
"You don’t need to worry, Selene. Guys like this—"
He let out a breath through his nose, eyes burning with confidence.
"—they never last long."
That was the final push that broke the camel’s back.
Rose’s sneer twisted into something monstrous, something full of rage. His eyes flashed with power as his ability activated just as Ethan made his move.

Ethan struck first, his fist colliding with Rose’s head with enough force to send him crumpling to the ground. Rose fell, his body hitting the pavement with a sickening thud.
Selene could tell that Rose was not a guy who exercised often. If anything, it looked as if he never went to the gym or anything.
In a physical confrontation, he would lose 100 times out of 100. It was not even a question of chance, but a certainty.
Ethan took a step back, shaking out his knuckles, his expression relaxed.
"Well, that was disappointingly easy. Eh, did I kill him? I did not realize he was so fragile."
But Selene’s eyes narrowed. She wasn’t fooled.
"No. He’s alive."
She said immediately, scanning Rose with her Insight.
Ethan’s head snapped toward her, caught off guard.
"What? Ugh, of course he is. Bastard knows how to act as well, huh."
Almost as if responding to her words, Rose moved.
In a blur of motion, he scrambled backward, trying to escape. His breath came in ragged gasps, his fingers clawing at the ground as he dragged himself up to his feet.
He bolted....
Or, he tried to bolt at least. But his attempt at escape was cut off by an invisible force slamming into place.
A translucent energy barrier snapped into existence, sealing off every possible exit.
"What the hell is this? Where did something like this come from?"
Rose stumbled to a stop, his breath hitching. His eyes darted around, panic creeping into his expression as he realized—
He was trapped. And not just trapped. He was trapped in that place with someone who could and would end his life.
A slow clap echoed through the air, and Rose turned sharply to see Orion standing nearby, his expression unreadable.
"Nice work, Orion. Just in time."
Ethan praised, his voice full of satisfaction.
Rose’s breathing turned erratic, his shoulders trembling. His desperation was turning into something else, something ugly.
Selene saw it the moment his mind snapped.
The calculated malice in his gaze dissolved, replaced by something raw, something unhinged.
Then, before anyone could react—
Rose disappeared.
Ethan’s body tensed immediately.
"Damn it—"
Selene barely had time to process what was happening before she felt him.
A sharp yank at her shoulders. Cold fingers locking around her arms.
A breath, too close to her ear.
And then she froze.
Rose had her.
In an instant, he materialized behind her, his arms wrapping around her in a tight, vice-like grip.
"Move, and Selene’s safety would be compromised."
Ethan froze.
Selene tried to struggle, but Rose’s grip was relentless, his fingers digging into her wrists, keeping her pinned. His erratic breathing fanned against the side of her face.
"You’re out of options. Let me go. Let us go. And don’t follow."
Rose murmured, his voice sickly sweet, triumphant.
Ethan’s jaw clenched, his fists shaking at his sides. His entire body screamed with restrained power, with the urge to tear Rose apart.
Selene, despite the situation, felt strangely calm.
"Ethan. It’s fine."
She said softly, her voice unwavering.
Ethan’s gaze flicked toward her, his hands twitching as if he was about to make a move.
Rose’s grip tightened.
"Ah, ah. Let me leave, or I promise—you won’t get her back in one piece."
Rose taunted, his fingers pressing harder into Selene’s skin.
For the first time, Ethan hesitated.
And Rose knew he had just gained the upper hand.
Rose’s grin widened as he dragged Selene toward the edge of the barrier, his grip tightening with desperation. The deranged glint in his eyes only grew wilder, his breath coming out in erratic puffs.
"Lower the barrier. Now.!"
He demanded, voice sharp and commanding.
Orion, maintaining the energy field, hesitated. His normally steady hands trembled slightly as he glanced toward Zara, uncertainty flickering across his face.
"What do we do? I can’t ask Ethan, and I—"
He asked, his voice tight.
Zara’s lips pressed together.
"I don’t know."
She admitted, her fists clenched at her sides.
Ethan, his body tense with restrained fury, finally spoke.
"Lower it."
Orion’s head snapped toward him.
"What?"
"Lower it. We don’t have another choice right now."
Ethan repeated, his tone sharp.
