To His Hell and Back-Chapter 171: Sweet Tone, Bloodied Hands-I
Chapter 171: Sweet Tone, Bloodied Hands-I
Arabella noted the silver ring on Princess Isabelle’s index finger. There was a butterfly carved into it one that similarly appears as a motive on her folded fan which was also made up of silver and a silk fabric with golden embroidery of a fairy. The Princess has deep crimson eyes, one that was upturn and round which makes her to appear as beautiful and as endearing as a fawn. Glossy milk skin, hair cascading in the color of platinum silver, and flushed cheeks. Though her outward appearance was lovely and so gentle, her eyes could also narrow severely, showing her distaste as Lady Juanita had done things that she didn’t quite like to see.
Arabella herself didn’t know which one she should be startled by first. Should she be surprised by how the Princess had tried to protect her or the beauty of the Princess which set aside another tier. Her face could even be said as pretty as Cassius though if Cassius was a woman his beauty would have topple kingdoms.
Juanita herself was notably disturbed upon seeing Princess Isabelle. Arabella could see the "Oh no" face radiating from Lady Juanita. It seems that not only was she a princess, she was a princess that none including Juanita could easily offend. Or maybe Juanita has always been the type to loudly bark that she fears no one when deep down she has a list of people she should always avoid at all cost. Like Cassius and Princess Isabelle?
"Your highness," said Lady Juanita with a fright on her face. She curtsied, followed by the women behind her. They all also appeared as grim and Juanita when facing Isabelle. "The disturbance must have caused you discomfort as it reached your ears. But do pay it no mind, I shall take care the root of the problem as soon as now."
Princess Isabelle smiled and turned to look at Arabella. Her green eyes could see that once the Princess looked at her closely, her eyes had widened slightly even wider than before. It was like a shock that caused her mouth to turn round, like seeing something that she had never laid eye on. But the gaze was brief and it couldn’t confirm anything for Arabella who had just seen that glimpse for a bit. But she didn’t dismiss the gaze, and wondered if the shock came from the Princess already knowing her identity... like how she is Cassius’s pet?
The Princess fanned her folded fan lightly over her nose and looked back at Juanita, "What is the problem?"
Juanita gritted her teeth though she forced a brave front, "It isn’t something that you need to pay any heed to Princess. In the end this isn’t the Redhood castle."
"Certainly this isn’t my castle but it has became where I stay at. If things unsavory were to happen here, I have all the right to know what is going on. Besides, do you think that I can only control what would happen in my castle but not here? You must have forgotten that I rank higher than you," the princess laughed lightly, her voice so honeyed and sweet while Arabella could see how Juanita’s face had fell.
"Tsk, that human has stolen food from the dining hall! I was teaching her a lesson. Not only did she steal, she had the audacity of staying in the Crown Prince’s stable and lying about her identity, even going as far as calling herself someone the crown prince cares for."
Arabella’s eyebrows twitched. No. She hadn’t worded it that way. What was this woman talking about? The one lying was Juanita and yet she was so confident and the ladies behind her was all so eager that it seems like she had really lied.
She knew how badly it feels when you’re telling the truth with no one believing or even willing to listen to you. The injustice made her heart burn with anger but even then if she continued this charade, there would be a fight and besides Princess Isabelle has no reason to believe her instead of Juanita. freēwēbnovel.com
"No one can steal food from the dining hall unless they had been given the authority to do so. The dining hall is for royals that you can’t even dream of entering Juanita. Do you think that someone of such low stature would easily be able to enter the dining hall just as they wish?" Isabelle said which surprised Arabella. "Besides we all know lying is more of your speciality. This girl, I know her well. She’s close to Princess Marissa so of course she is someone the crown prince takes good care of. He had always been loving and doting to his younger sister including her friends."
"W- what?" Juanita said in a startle.
"Do you know who she truly is?" Princess Isabelle asked instead and when Juanita shook her head she smiled, "She’s someone you can’t ever dream to touch. Not only you harmed my precious friend you have came to tell me that this castle hold no authority of mine."
Juanita’s face had completely gone pale. She looked at Arabella, looked at her clothes, then looked at her condition. Most humans were skinny and Arabella was as skinny as the rest so she thought she looked gaunt and starved. But Isabelle wasn’t someone who would lie to protect someone so perhaps she had understood everything wrongly...?
"But there’s no way... even Sir Lucien doesn’t know who she is! Also she was the one who had attacked me first. Look! my hands-" when she pulled her hands that had turned wrinkly, Juanita was startled to find that it was as smooth as ever, nothing flawed.
"Sir Lucien wouldn’t know what had happened in the castle with how long he had been away," said Princess Isabelle. "I’ve been too kind to you Juanita that you seem to draw a conclusion that our rank is closer than how it really is," and in saying so, Juanita’s body turned stiff.
Princess Isabelle folded her fan with a swipe of her wrist and walked three steps before pushing the sharp edge of her fan toward Juanita’s shoulders. She then lowered her voice in a way that only Juanita could hear, "I never cared for your troubles as they mattered not to me. But you have became too pathetic that I can’t bear watching as it would make my eyes sore. Stop your foolish act and behave properly." Then she pushed her folded fan again as her smile grew icier. "Or else I would have to punish you the way I had punished all those who had crossed me. You will surely regret what you have done now by then. Limbs severed, kept alive. Head as decoration, eyes gouged, snd skinned alive. Hmmm which punishment could serve as a good lesson for you Juanita? Do you have some bright ideas to help me?"
