Undead Beast Master: Living Solely for My Desires-Chapter 311: Beauty in Shackles
Both Zaroth and Eldros found themselves standing before the large auction house at the center of the city.
Unlike before, now there were dozens of guards awaiting at the front with the emblem of the Outlaws at their shoulders.
"We would need to check you up for weapons," the tallest of them said.
Zaroth had anticipated this. He had already hidden his odachi, as well as Eldros' weapons, within Nightshade's shadow. So when the guards searched them, they found nothing and allowed them to pass.
Once inside, Zaroth wasn't surprised to see that the security was top-notch; there were dozens of guards at each corner, waiting to act if the need arose.
What was more surprising, however, was that unlike every other place that dealt with slaves, here there wasn't any kind of lingering smell.
'Did they use some kind of filters or something?' he wondered.
Deciding it wasn't worth it to pay it much mind, he motioned for Eldros to follow behind him.
"I want you right behind me at all times, got it? I'm expecting this place to descend into chaos very soon," he whispered, just loud enough for Eldros to hear. The man gave a single silent nod in response.
Not long after, they made their way through the giant crowd and seated themselves. Sadly, because they weren't of the most premium members of the place, they were seated at the back seats. As such, they didn't have a good view.
Not that they needed it that much; there was no need for them to be able to get a good grasp of the slaves, as they didn't have the intention to buy any. They were just going to follow the one that would buy the elf.
Whoever buys the elf would have to be transported to a room where the ownership will be transferred. That is when Zaroth will act — kill everybody in the room except the owner and force them to give him ownership over the elf.
'I can already picture it… If those runes make teleportation possible, what else might they be capable of?' he mused.
The room was noisy with conversation—until a certain individual entered.
Once he did, the place went deadly silent as all eyes were on that man. Then slowly but surely, some mutter began to spread like wildfire.
"Hey… is that Henry?" one woman asked.
"You mean the leader of the Outlaws?" another replied.
"It is indeed him! If he is here, then that means there will be some quality slaves for sale!"
Though Henry was far from where Zaroth sat, he studied the man carefully.
An eyepatch with a heavy beard, he had a couple of women that were sticking close to him. Whether these women were slaves or were doing this out of their own willingness was a mystery.
'So this is the leader of the bandit group that attacked Drakmire Bastion before?' Zaroth thought. 'In a way, he looks just like I imagined him.'
A few seconds later, a smirk crept on his face. 'Now, is this not a good opportunity? According to Zoe, there will be more teams sent to Drakmire Bastion in search of their team, but if I get rid of their leader, the issue should resolve as well.'
This was the conclusion Zaroth came to. Now, after getting the elf, he was going to kill Henry. After the two matters were done, he could start to burn the city to the ground.
"Ladies and gentlemen!" Finally, after all the seats in the giant place were filled, a blond man appeared in view.
"Thank you for coming here and—"
At this point, Zaroth had heard this generic speech so many times that he mentally zoned out.
It didn't take long for slaves to start to appear one by one on the stage.
Some were sold for tens of thousands of gold, others for hundreds of thousands.
During the whole time, Zaroth paid close attention to Henry. Curiously enough, the man had yet to place a single bid.
'Does that mean he is here for the same reason as me?' Zaroth wondered.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, a certain individual stepped upon the stage.
As soon as Zaroth laid his eyes on her, he understood what all the fuss was about — the elves and their appearance.
This elf—she was stunning beyond comprehension. It now made sense why he hadn't seen any others until now. If all elves truly looked like this, they must go to great lengths to conceal their appearance in the human continents.
Beautiful skin — not a single imperfection in sight. Just like he had been told, her skin was as smooth as glass. She had long blonde hair that seemed to be radiating with a power even from great distance. Her breasts were nothing to scoff at either — they were what many would say the perfect size: not so big that it would seem ridiculous, but not too small either.
Just like one would expect from an elf, her ears were pointy at the end. But it all paled in comparison when one gazed at her face. It was perfectly symmetrical, almost to an uncanny level. Her lips were soft, seducing the very essence of perfection. Her eyes were like emeralds, glowing with green, piercing energy that seemed sharp and decisive.
Zaroth, as well as the slave buyers, were so stunned that they were momentarily left without words. No doubt this was the most beautiful specimen of a person they had ever seen.
His haze didn't last for long, however, as his eyes focused on something — a detail that didn't seem that important in the grand scheme of things, but it was hard to miss.
Compared to all the slaves that had been called upon stage, the elf had her arms chained to one another. Her feet were as well, limiting the amount of distance she could walk with a single step.
'Is this because she is just that valuable?... or is it because they aren't able to control her?' Zaroth wondered.
But that wouldn't make sense, would it? After all, once the owner of the slave orders something, the slave was going to do it to the best of their ability. All it needed was for them to say that she wasn't allowed to run. freeweɓnøvel.com
Zaroth had tested this on Eldros before — he had commanded him to stand up and his body just did that even without him wanting to. The effect of the slave contract was so strong that Zaroth was pretty sure if he ordered Eldros to kill himself, he was going to comply — or at least his body was going to.
"But if she is chained… does this mean she hasn't been made a slave?" Zaroth whispered in disbelief, and Eldros, who had also picked up on the reality, found it hard to process as the reason why that was.
"Now this here is a rare specimen of another race!" the blond man at the podium shouted. "Considering her otherworldly beauty and how rare she is, I believe she should be very special. As such, we are going to start the bidding process with—"
"One million!" Before the blond man could announce the starting bidding price, Henry shouted with all his might, silencing everybody in the room.
Seeing this, Zaroth smiled. 'It seems I'll be able to kill two birds with one stone.'
