Chapter 557 THE DUNGEON

Zuri stared at Chaos, she raised her hand and broke the protection spell that her grandmother had created, which surrounded him. She could feel what they were talking about the energy that surrounded this protection and only now that she realized it.

Once the protection spell was broken, she took a few steps closer to Chaos and then knelt down in front of him.

It had been a few weeks they were here now and Chaos was still in this current condition, which made Zuri worried about him, but probably this was the nice fact about being an immortal like him, that you wouldn't need to worry that he would die so easily.

"Chaos…" Zuri stretched out her hand and caressed his cheek, his skin felt so cold to her touch and this made her heart ached for him. "Why we can't put him inside?" Zuri talked to Tia without turned around, since she knew that she was there.

"Because I don't want him to ruin my place again," Tia replied. "We don't know when he will wake up and what kind of creature that we will face. I will not risk it."

Zuri glanced at Tia through her shoulder, but said nothing.

"Don't give me that look, if this up to me completely and without considering the fact that you will throw a tantrum, I will want to put him far away from this place. There is no need for him to be here, so close and endanger my pack."

Zuri said nothing about that, as she focused on Chaos. She tried to remember what it needed for him to wake up.

There was only that she could think of, it was; his shattered soul.

The last shattered soul that he took was from the alpha of the bloody wolf pack, but it seemed it was not enough for him.

"Who are the remaining of his shattered soul?" Zuri muttered to herself, as she thought about it.

Nikolai, Knox, Eros, Killian, Norbeat, Skylar, Rhea and Flo…

Zuri was still didn't know something unfortunate happened to Norbeat and Skylar…

The easiest target would be Rhea, but then Knox's reaction would be something that Zuri needed to consider too, because the last time, he was very angry at her for hiding the truth about his daughter and if now she made a move on his daughter, it would be catastrophic.

The next target would be Norbeat or Skylar. Zuri preferred Skylar, since the girl didn't like her and they fought a few times in the past.

"But, how can I go out of here?" Zuri narrowed her eyes. This was something that bothered her. "What should I do, Chaos."

In her defeat, she leaned over and rested her forehead against his chest, as the coldness bit her skin, but she didn't care about that because she wanted to be close with him right now. There was nothing that she wanted more, but to be with him and to hear his voice.

"I have learned what you told me to learn, but you are sleeping." Zuri closed her eyes and put Chaos's arms around her body, as if he was hugging her. She missed him a lot. "Why don't you open your eyes?"

"If you want to sleep there, I will not take care of you if you fall sick." Tia frowned really hard because she watched how Zuri didn't seem embarrassed at all to show her affection toward Chaos.

"Go away, Tia. I don't need to hear your complain," Zuri said, but she didn't move an inch from there.

Not long after that, Zuri could hear her footsteps walked away from here and this made her felt a little bit better. She needed this quietness.

And without knowing it, she fell asleep, as she sat next to Chaos and rested her head against his shoulder.

But, when she opened her eyes hours later, she was alone and Chaos was gone.

Liam told someone to unlock the door to Emily's bedroom, she had been shouting his name since a few hours ago, demanding for Liam to talk to her.

She was a mess to say the least, her eyes were swollen and her lips parched, her hair was a little bit messy, as if she had been pulling out her hair due to her frustration.

"Where is Eros?!"

That was the first thing that Emily asked once she saw Liam, which was not really unpredictable.

"Sit down first and then we can talk." Liam entered the room, as if he owned this space and then sat on the sofa, the place, where young Eros would sleep, before his body overgrown it. "Sit."

"I don't want to sit." Emily paced back and forth. "Where is he? What you have done to him!?" She had never felt so frustrated like she felt right now. She really wanted to scream her head off.

"Relax, sit down first and we can talk after that." The way how calm Liam spoke only made Emily became even more angry because this was not the time for him to be this calm.

Didn't he realize that he just killed a few of his old supporters? His gamma, the healer, the warriors that had been following him for years? Didn't he feel a little bit sorry for them?

"No, I don't want to sit down!" Emily roared. It was so rare to see her lost control like this and became very aggravating, but then when she watched how Liam simply leaned his back against the sofa and folded his arms, without saying anything, she knew that he wouldn't say a word, until she did what she was told.

In the end, Emily sat down and glared at Liam for treating her this way.

"Where is he?" Emily gritted her teeth, the words came out shaky because she was trying to hold back her emotions and anger that coursed through her veins.

"I let him to stay in the dungeon for a few days, so he can cool off."

"WHAT?!" Emily immediately stood up, she approached Liam, but she couldn't do anything to him, even when he was not in his beast form, there was nothing that Emily could do to hurt him.

"You don't need to be so riled up. I don't do anything to him. He needs some time to cool off his mind, after all, he just witnessed something that was so horrible."

Liam talked like he was talking about trivial things and as if he cared about Eros's well beings, but Emily knew better.

There was no way he cared for someone else aside from himself.

Liam coughed before he continued talking, which made Emily furrowed her brows slightly. It was very rare for a shifter to be sick.

"You don't need to be so angry, I am not planning to let him stay there forever, it will not do good for you, as long as he shows some remorse, I will restore his position as my beta, after all, I still need him." You have to put your friends close to you and your enemy even closer, right? Liam thought that to himself.

"I want to see him," Emily blurted out. "I will not believe you, whatever you said, I will make sure that Eros is fine."

"Sure, you can go the dungeon right now, but after that, I want you to meet me in my study, there are a lot of things that we need to discuss, right?" Liam grinned at her and then stood up. "I don't like to wait for long, thus I wish you don't take the conversation for long, okay?"

Emily didn't answer that and Liam didn't need her reply, as he walked out of the bedroom and left the door opened, as an indication for her that he didn't have any plan to lock her away.

Of course, didn't hesitate to walk out of the bedroom and went straight to the dungeon. She had never been here before, since she had never had a business to be here, but she knew the location.

It was close to a training ground, where Emily could see that people from the organization started their training there and the young warrior needed to share their ground with them.

The tension was very high, especially after what happened this afternoon.

Emily shook her head, she didn't want to remember about what had happened and wanted to put her emotions away for a while, because she needed to make sure that Eros was alright.

She took a deep breath and pushed her sadness and guilty to the back of her mind.

"I want to see Eros, show me the way," Emily said to the guards, who was guarding the entrance of the dungeon. "I have permission from the alpha," she added because none of them move their ass before she mentioned the alpha.

The guards led the way to the deep of the dungeon, to the cell where they locked Eros away and when Emily saw Eros, she couldn't help, but became frantic.

"What you have done to him?!" she screamed to see how they tied Eros against the wall with silver chain. The bracelet was still on his wrist, which prevented him from shifting into his beast. "RELEASE HIM!"

"I don't think the decision is yours to make, Emily," the guard said and right at that time, Eros lifted his head and their eyes met for the first time after what had transpired.
