Murong Mingyue cast her spells on Li Chengfeng and healed him for almost 4 million HP in just 7 seconds. Her current HPS was around 600k, which put her among the best priests in the entire world.
Li Chengfeng clenched his fists while gazing to the distance. "Their equipment is too good. Dammit, if only I had equipment that reduced damage received by 50% like the Cloak of Divine Fervor!"
He Yi nodded before saying quietly, "Red Maple had gathered almost all the experts of the Japan server to kill you. It would be stranger if he failed to damage you considerably."

Grass was trampled as Cyan Frost, Red Hot Vortex and more players emerged from the forest. Not only that, several armies were marching toward our location from different directions as well. Copper Spear of Era of Strife, Shogunate of Asuka Period and Sun-shooting Bow of Tail Feather Palace were all here. I also counted a dozen or so guilds of various sizes. My DarK Pupils revealed red dots everywhere. If I wasn’t mistaken, at least a million players were surrounding us from all sides.
"God damn…" Lu Buyi said coolly while the wind blew at his white sleeves. "We’ve stepped on a landmine, it seems. Practically all of the JGL Hall of Famers have come out to fight us. Hmph hmph, they must’ve found out the goods we’re guarding are the key of our SSS Rank quest. They wouldn’t have come at us with such a huge force otherwise."
He Yi gave her growling Snow Crystal Dragon a reassuring pat before asking, "It’ll take at least ten minutes before our first reinforcements arrive. What do we do?"
I said with a smile, "What else? We defend the convoy for ten minutes with everything we got until then. The enemy will be launching a full-powered assault very soon. While Chengfeng and I dish out our AoE damage, Eve, Little Gui and Beiming, I want you guys to guard a supply cart each. Lian Xin, set up as many fires as you can and keep the enemy from approaching us. The supply carts only have a total HP of 10 million. They can’t take too many attacks."
Pure Love asked while Li Chengfeng nodded, "What do I do?"
"Focus on healing Chengfeng because the enemy will pay extra focus on him. You hear that, Chengfeng? The two players the Japanese hate the most are me and you. I’m hard to kill, so they may prioritize killing you first. It would suck to die in their hands, right?" I said with a smile.
Li Chengfeng put his halberd on his shoulder and shrugged. "Eh, I don’t actually mind that. Everyone dies one day, much less in a game. They will have to pay a great price to kill me though. By the way, look at Copper Spear’s army, Lu Chen. I see a bunch of elite mages with Heart of the Holy Mage. It looks like they’ve taken control of a Silver City. You should prioritize killing them to lessen our pressure."
I frowned. "Alright, I have a multiple-choice question for you all. I can kill either Red Maple or the Holy Mages with Xuanyuan Art + Xuanyuan Slash[2] combo. Who do you think I should kill?"
Gui Guzi declared, "Red Maple. He is the soul of God’s Domain. Killing him will greatly diminish the enemy’s morale!"
However, Beiming Xue disagreed with him. "I think you should kill the mages, big bro. If they manage to get close enough to fire a volley of spells, both Little Xin and I may be one-shot by them. The bombardment of Holy Mages are just too powerful at close range."
He Yi said, "I agree that Lu Chen should prioritize killing the mages as well. Chengfeng can keep Red Maple busy while he carries out the deed."
I nodded. "Alright, then I’ll prioritize killing the mages. God’s Domain owns the Gold Cavalry, but that is a lesser threat toward us compared to the Holy Mages. Wait for my signal later. The moment I cast the Xuanyuan Art, execute your AoE skills and kill as many enemies as you can!"
Everyone nodded in agreement.

A while later, we exchanged gazes with the Japanese players on the opposite side of a vast forest clearing.
God’s Domain cavalrymen were all Gold Cavalry, and Red Maple was floating in front of them. The man said with a cold smile on his face, "We meet again, friends of the China server. I should welcome you respectfully since you’re a guest in our lands, but the goods you’re escorting are just too, hehe, you get what I mean. Long story short, they are not entering Purple Grape City."
My heart skipped a beat. As expected, Red Maple had somehow found out every detail of our quest. I was expecting this though. The walls have ears after all.[3]
Copper Spear of Era of Strife sneered, "You didn’t think you could come and go to our borders as you please, did you? None of you are returning to your main city today."
Li Chengfeng chuckled at that and said, "Is that so? I honestly thought of Purple Grape City as the backyard of the China server. What kind of backyard doesn’t allow its master to come and go as they please?"
"Fuck you!"
Shogunate raised his scepter and threatened, "Just watch, we will launch our counterattack eventually. When the day comes where Sky City is nothing but ashes beneath our feet, you won’t be laughing anymore!"
I simply held a finger in front of my lips. "Shh, loser."
Shogunate was so furious his face was white with rage.
Red Maple sneered, "Quiet, Shogunate. You’re not good enough to beat him in a match of words."
The so-called number one player of the Japan server then raised his sword and growled with resentment, "And why do we need to waste our breath on him when our steel will do so much better? Let’s go. The Gold Cavalry will advance first, and the Holy Mages later. Remember that our priority isn’t them but their supply carts. Destroying all three supply carts will feel so much better than killing them, wouldn’t it? Of course, if you can kill them, then don’t hesitate to jump on the opportunity!"
With that, the battle began in earnest.

Iron hooves galloped across the plains. The Gold Cavalrymen unsheathed their blades, screamed their battle cries and charged straight toward us.
Still on her Snow Crystal Dragon, He Yi descended to the ground and raised her Suppressing Fire Sword. "Don’t move yet, Lu Chen, Chengfeng. Until the enemy’s Holy Mages approach, just leave these cavalrymen to me!"
I nodded and watched as He Yi rushed into the group of Gold Cavalry and cast a series of flaming skills. At the same time, Lian Xin dropped her Sea of Flames, Dimensional Storm, Ice Spiral Matrix and more on top of the enemy. 200% damage was just too much for most people to bear, and practically every hit dealt around 1.5 million damage. Combined with the continuous damage from the Sea of Flames, she needed 3 to 5 hits at most to kill a full-health Gold Cavalryman. Lian Xin’s new equipment also shortened her cooldowns drastically. It took her around 7 seconds at most to cast them again.
"Here they come!"
Li Chengfeng said while staring at a certain spot. He brandished his Cyan Peak Halberd and gathered swirls of divine energy beneath his feet.
We saw at least 10,000 Holy Mages were advancing toward us slowly. When they were about 30 yards away from us, they abruptly stood still and started firing their spells with the Far Shot mode!
"Shit, they’re targeting our supply carts[4]..."
I turned my blade while saying, "I’m going to cast Xuanyuan Art now. Prepare to hit the enemy!"
Three vortices appeared on the Death side of the Xuanyuan Sword. It was the Xuanyuan Art’s precast visual effect. The moment Red Maple saw it, he immediately withdrew to the back and produced a green bottle from his bag. It was an Anti-Magic Potion that protected the user from all magic-type attacks, and it cost 5,000 gold a bottle in the black market!
The moment Xuanyuan Art activated, all the enemy players in front of me lost 70% of their HP in one go. I was already leaping toward them and firing Burning Blade Slash at a bunch of mages with their Magic Shields turned on. At the same time, I dropped 17 Ancient Seals in a row in front of me. After the powerful skills destroyed their Magic Shields, I cast Summon the Storm + Myriad Swords Obliteration combo to kill them all!
In another direction, Gui Guzi raised his Ghostblade Halberd and cast Hundred Ghosts Descent that also one-shot a group of people. Li Chengfeng just flew to the middle of a group and cast his skills like crazy.
The battle was incredibly fierce. Even with 50% damage reduction, I couldn’t stop losing HP due to the sheer amount of arrows and spells that were striking my body. The good news was that 50% lifesteal was sufficient to keep me alive, and countless players died every time I swung my sword. I said “countless” because I literally couldn’t be bothered to count my kills.
It was a good thing I could sustain myself because the enemy did focus much of their firepower on Li Chengfeng as I thought. As a result, Murong Mingyue had to spend most of her healing spells on him.

Li Chengfeng knocked Red Maple’s sword aside while he was spinning in midair. Twisting his halberd and stabbing a nearby expert in the neck, he executed a 7-hit Dragonbone Flurry that turned both the poor fellow and the group of Gold Cavalrymen behind him into shreds. A bloody dagger stabbed into his back immediately after, but thankfully he was a divine player. He wouldn’t be stunned so easily.
Without hesitation, Li Chengfeng lifted his leg backward and kicked Purple Thunder away from him.
A bunch of maple leaves engulfed Li Chengfeng, Murong Mingyue and Lian Xin altogether and dealt a sizable amount of damage to all of them. Red Maple had always been a powerful attacker, but he was also a divine player. One Divine General Skill was all it took to delete much of Lian Xin’s HP.
"Freeze him!" Beiming Xue said.
Lian Xin nodded and dropped Frozen Domain on top of Red Maple!
"Hmph…"
To my surprise, the guy let out a snort and surrounded himself in a golden shield. It was his invincibility skill! Just how confident was he to activate his invincibility skill just to neutralize Lian Xin’s Frozen Domain? Did he really think he could take us out in a reasonably short time?

While striking Cyan Frost’s blade three times in a row, Gui Guzi snuck a peek at his party members’ HP and cast a Shennong Tastes Grass to heal everyone. At the same time, he shouted, "Watch out for the assassins! They’re targeting Lil Beiming!"

Purple Thunder was frozen in place when he was just a single step away from Beiming Xue. He was so close to stabbing her that he was in the middle of thrusting out his dagger.

Beiming Xue turned as white as death as she backed away from him. She then rewarded his valiant effort with a faceful of arrows.

2. E/N: I really hope you mean Xuanyuan Slash + Xuanyuan Art. Also, I’ve been fuming for a while, but Lu Chen never uses Xuanyuan Art to kill people like Candlelight Shadow with half HP… So many battles could have ended early because of it ☜
