A near manic smile spread across Vienna’s Sorrow face as he said, "Broken Halberd Sinks Into Sand, you are one of the most vicious men I’ve ever met. It takes a kind of ruthlessness to even dream of devouring three of our main cities in one go, much less execute it in reality. We are no AI that you can exploit and play around as you please though. Not a single one of you will be leaving this place alive!"

Vienna’s Sorrow slowly unsheathed a longblade behind his back, but it wasn’t the black Middle Divine Armament blade he was using before. This one was coated with air magic and possessed enough power to rival the Immortal Blade. All the girls nodded at once.
After I was done giving instructions, I abruptly vanished from my original spot and charged straight toward Tear Stain. While unleashing Burning Blade Slash at her, I shouted angrily, "You will abandon your own main city to intercept us, Tear Stain!?"
Tear Stain declared decisively, "I cannot allow you to destroy the Northern Alliance!"
Sparks erupted as our blades clashed against each other. While Tear Stain was casting her Void Barrier, I turned the Xuanyuan Sword and cast Xuanyuan Art. Not only did Tear Stain and Vienna’s Sorrow lose 70% of their HP, the Hero Alliance players who had just emerged from the teleportation formations of Titan City were affected as well.

After firing her freezing skill at me, Tear Stain moved to a different angle before following up with an Ice Blade Slash. She wasn’t going to show me any quarter at all!
I relaxed my body and allowed myself to fall from the sky. At the same time, I cried in the party channel, "Little Xin!"
Bang! An Origin Force Field appeared in midair and caught Tear Stain completely off-guard. She slammed face-first into the invisible barrier and lost almost 100k HP. Wounded but undeterred, she descended to a lower altitude and zigzagged toward me with great determination. Behind her, a great number of Hero Alliance players were rushing toward me as well. Now that they knew that my Teleportation Divine Crystal was the reason for their misery, they were gunning for me with everything they had. Only by knocking me out of this Nation War could they keep their main city[1].

Lin Yixin immediately backed away and tackled a different enemy first.
A quintuple slash struck my back and deleted over 5 million HP in one go. I spun around and responded with a slash, but Tear Stain leaped over it and brought her sword down using Barrier Break viciously. You would think that I had murdered her loved one or something!
That wasn’t all. A deadly wind blade was sweeping toward me as well!
A glance immediately told me that the flank attack came from Vienna’s Sorrow. The Wind Severing Blade was wreathed in Blazing Wind, and his SSS Rank Ancient Divine Skill, Smile of the God of War Ares, was turned on. The Berserk Triple Slash was so swift that I probably couldn’t have parried it even if Tear Stain wasn’t coming at me from the front!
"Watch out!" Stranger of Three Lifetimes hastily cried out a warning and cast Ice Blast at the duo. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to freeze either one of them. Their resistances were simply too high!
I activated Profound Armor and turned around to face Vienna’s Sorrow. Then, I raised the Dihai Shield to block his triple slash!

My body rocked back and forth as Vienna’s Sorrow’s skill shredded my HP. Not only were all three hits critical, the Wind Severing Blade’s Blazing Wind effect made his attack mostly Defense-piercing. As a result, I took a massive amount of damage even after my Defense was tripled[2]—

The attack left me with just a sliver of HP left. Right after that, Tear Stain attacked me with an Ice Flame Slash!
There was no time to lose. I planted one foot on Vienna’s Sorrow’s Wind Severing Blade and pushed myself to the ground. While I was falling, I struck the ground with my left palm and "bounced" away from the point of impact. As a result, Ice Flame Slash missed me by a hair’s breadth and caused a huge pit to appear on the ground. It wasn’t over yet though. Vienna’s Sorrow immediately raised his weapon, let out a battle cry and activated his weapon’s skill—Winds of Desperation!
It was a super AoE skill not different to Lin Yixin’s Thundercloud Storm. It enveloped nearly every Chinese player on the battlefield and dealt massive damage. I had just cast Tenacity of the Dead and Dragon Bloodboil when Winds of Desperation struck me and deleted over 4.9 million HP. If even I took this much damage, then the others could only do worse. The 2,000 Dragonlight Archers behind me had been instantly one-shot. The Dragonlight Cavalry lost about a thousand players as well. The casualties were horrible!
"Now!"
I charged through the blazing wind and pressed a hand against Tear Stain’s stomach. Divine energy took the form of red chains and wrapped itself around her delicate neck. As fire burned beneath our feet, Tear Stain stared wide-eyed at me and uttered, "You’re ruthless, Lu Chen!"
Instead of replying, I slammed into her using Mad God Lunge!

Tear Stain stumbled backward a dozen or so meters and lost a chunk of HP. Since she was stunned, she couldn’t even activate an invincibility skill to save herself!
In the sky, Lin Yixin activated Gan Jiang and Mo Ye and dropped an Ice Flame Slash right on top of Tear Stain’s head. She wasn’t dead yet, so I rushed forward and dealt the last hit!

"Charge! Punch through their defense with everything you've got! We must protect Titan City no matter what!" Vienna’s eyes were bloodshot with fury. He shook his weapon as he roared, "Hero Alliance will never accept this humiliation! I, Vienna’s Sorrow, will never accept Hero City, Titan City and Seven Star City becoming China’s vassal states! If we fail to defend our main cities today, then I and the entire Hero Alliance swear to delete our accounts as punishment for our failures! We are the protectors of our country, and we. Must. Not. Fail!"
Vienna’s Sorrow declaration motivated all of his players to charge like crazy. I shot Lin Yixin a smile and said, "Yiyi, combo with me three minutes later. Let’s kill Vienna’s Sorrow’s heart once and for all!"
Lin Yixin nodded smilingly. "Got it!"

A while later, Stranger of Three Lifetimes and her players emerged from the palace entrance once more. Following behind them was none other than the regent of Titan City. He was an axe-wielding Quasi Divine Rank boss, but he shouldn’t be too difficult to kill.
"Dragonlight Archers, stun him!" Stranger of Three Lifetimes commanded. Over 30% of our Dragonlight Archers were Level 255, so their stun rate was exceptionally high. The king was stunned again and again even as his HP plummeted like crazy.
Vienna’s Sorrow’s raged. "You motherfuckers! Stop it!"

"Vienna’s Sorrow has finally lost his cool…" I said with a tremor in my voice. "Now, Yiyi!"
Vienna’s Sorrow made his move before I could, however. Roaring, he one-shot an entire group of Dragonlight Cavalrymen with Ultimate Strength Break—he could do it because he had increased his Strength by 70% using Iron Arm Reinforcement—and tore a Level 255 main guild magic knight to shreds with Beast Howl Slash!
"Kill!"
I dashed forward and executed Burning Blade Slash + Xuanyuan Art combo. Lin Yixin also cast her Thundercloud Storm!
Vienna’s Sorrow’s HP instantly saw the bottom after the series of attacks. But to our surprise, instead of securing his life with an invincibility skill, he abruptly pounced toward Stranger of Three Lifetimes while shouting, "Dammit! Stop killing our regent!"

I rushed forward and sent Vienna’s Sorrow sprawling across a flight of stairs with a kick. I then planted a foot on his chest and growled, "You have lost, Vienna. Surrender!"
Vienna wasn’t looking at me, however. He stared at the regent still fighting for his life and uttered with bloodshot eyes, "I’ve failed my country!"
There was nothing else to say. I activated Heavenly River Transformation and cast Xuanyuan Slash!
The Xuanyuan Sword flashed once, and a head flew into the air!

Li Chengfeng rushed forward and tried to support me, but my arm had already vanished into thin air. His eyes reddened as he muttered, "You’re in the game, but your avatar is disappearing even though you’re not in a tent or an inn. What is… what is going on, Lu Chen?"

I looked at him, then at He Yi. The urge to cry suddenly assaulted my senses, and I said, "I’m sorry. I can’t walk with you all until the end after all…"
My vision darkened, and I lost all consciousness.
1. T/N: Okay, this confirms that Lu Chen’s Resurrection Art was probably banned in a Nation War because it was BS. WOULD BE NICE IF YOU MENTIONED IT SOONER THOUGH AUTHOR E/N: It’s been disabled in like all Nation Wars after the first, and many events, maps, raids etc though ☜
