Blood Nemesis-Chapter 130: Fan!
Chapter 130: Fan!
’This is wonderful.’ Oliver was thrilled.
"I could do that. But it’s impossible with my skills alone. I need to grow my guild, recruit many talented people, and save those who are being oppressed by the demons." He eyed the drone.
"I need the help of someone like you. Part-timer, would you like to work full-time?"
As usual, Oliver extended an invitation.
Root didn’t speak for a while.
They watched the battle between the Lin family members and the flood dragon silently.
Then, Root asked.
"...but is that the only reason you hate the Lin family?"
He changed the subject, totally ignoring Oliver’s invitation.
Oliver shrugged his shoulders and replied:
"No, I fucking hate that damned Lin Yue."
His voice traveled through the earpiece into Root’s mind, shocking him.
"Who, Lin Yue?" He asked.
"Who else but her?"
Oliver pointed his fingers at the figure floating quietly away from the battle.
"The Crystal Moon?" Root asked again to confirm, his voice trembling.
"Yeah."
Oliver frowned. He didn’t expect that reaction.
"Don’t tell me... Are you a fan?" Oliver widened his eyes.
Lin Yue was a third-year student of the Hero Academy. She was actively taking part in her heroic activities and was a popular public figure.
"Wait a minute. Do tell me? Are you a fanboy?" Oliver asked again.
The drone turned away shyly.
Lin Yue is known for being pretty, capturing the minds of young boys and girls alike. She was a top hero and an entertainer.
’She is pretty. She is pretty successful. She is pretty good at what she does.’
’She is all kinds of pretty.’
’Did she capture the heart of my young Root? No, I can’t allow this. Without Root, my guild can’t grow. I need to nip it in the bud.’
Oliver panicked.
The thought of Root leaving his guild for Oblivion terrified him.
But before he could do anything, the drone flew into the air to get a better look at the robed figure standing far away.
"Root, don’t," Oliver said.
But the drone ignored him and flew further and further.
"Are you kidding me?"
Oliver sighed.
He couldn’t have predicted that something like this would happen in their first team-building activity.
Well, it was a team-building activity for Oliver, and a torture session disguised as training for Root.
"Root, come back. The flood dragon would swat away the drone like a fly. You can’t possibly be thinking of going near it, right? And for your information, the drone costs a lot."
"Don’t worry, great guild leader, I won’t go too close."
The drone flew up into the air and took a position from which it could see Lin Yue’s face.
Immediately, Root saw the gentle white hair hidden by the hood. Then he saw the grey, slightly glowing eyes staring at him.
"It really is Lin Yue!" He exclaimed.
"Of course it is. Now, come back." Oliver heard his dazed words and said.
"I should ask for an autograph later."
"Yes, LATER."
Finally, the drone circled back to Oliver’s side. He felt his mind relax when he realized Root hadn’t strayed too far into the fanboy den. He is still able to maintain his sanity.
"This is such a great opportunity to see Lin Yue fight in real time. Ah! Great!"
Oliver heard the next couple of words and sighed. Maybe he was... right. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
"But why is she hunting a flood dragon? Does she need it for something?" Finally, Root remembered something. "Yes, all dragons have a core in their body. I’ve heard it’s a supreme elixir capable of healing the worst injuries. Does she want that?"
The question was directed at Oliver.
’Who knows what she wants? And who cares?’
That was the real thought of Oliver, but he kept it hidden and replied.
"Maybe. Now that I think about it, she has a poisoned sister. I heard there was an assassination attempt on both Lin Yue and her sister. Lin Yue survived, but her younger sister was poisoned at that time."
"Where did you hear that from?"
Root was shocked.
The public didn’t know of that.
"Classified."
"Tch..." Root rolled his eyes, and the drone camera moved sideways with him.
The information that Oliver just shared was something he knew from the future.
"Dragon core is costly and, more importantly, rare. Even if there exists one, the demand exceeds the supply. They must have searched and found the dragon to procure one. Should we help them?"
"How can you help?" Oliver was exasperated.
"For example, I could do this."
Suddenly, the underbelly of the boat glowed in brilliant light, shining upon the battlefield.
The light, although it originated from afar, was stronger than a normal LED bulb and shone over the entire battlefield.
Even Oliver, who was far away, was covered by dim light.
Soon, the darkness receded, and everyone could see each other clearly. Even the movement of the large dragon became visible.
The elders, along with Lin Yue, were shocked.
The elders turned and nodded at Oliver politely for helping them.
He returned an awkward smile.
’My fuel rods!’ In his heart, he cried out.
The damned Root was redirecting energy from the engine into the large spotlights that appeared out of the base of the boat.
The spotlight was made for deep underwater exploration, and it was capable of lighting up the ocean floor. But it consumed a tremendous amount of energy, like one fuel rod for an hour.
Oliver thought it would be cool to have and added it as part of the custom build.
But the tool was being used to help his enemies.
He was at a loss.
The wasted fuel rods were one problem. But what about the repercussions of helping his enemies?
’Maybe, I should have never brought him here,’ Oliver silently said in his mind.
"How is it? Great way to provide help, right?"
The drone came before Oliver and asked.
"Hm..."
Oliver nodded.
What else could he do? The damned kid was his friend. He went back to munching on the potato chips.
