Blood Nemesis-Chapter 55: Execution 4
Chapter 55: Execution 4
The young woman explained in detail about the function and security of the device before finally convincing Oliver that it would work.
At the end, he said, "If this works as well as you said, I might return to buy more."
"Returning customers are always welcome. Especially you, young man." She gave a flirtatious smile.
Oliver promptly said goodbye to Grizzly and left the bar.
Grizzly would pay the payment for the communication device. Oliver had left behind the fund he received after accessing the secret crypto accounts of Tempus Cult with him to manage. Payment was supposed to be made with that money.
Once Oliver left, the young woman took the glass of beer on the counter and gulped it down.
Then, with a satisfied nod, she wiped her lips and asked.
"Who was that?"
"A customer," Grizzly replied.
"You have nothing more to say?"
"What more do you want?"
"A young customer who buys a military communication device worth 500,000 creds like it was nothing. Who is he? What is your relationship with him?" The young woman was very interested in Oliver.
"I don’t know what you are thinking, Elena, but let me give you a warning. Never, never ever mess with him."
Elena, the young woman, tilted her head.
"Why?"
"Do you not remember what happened a few days ago?"
"What?"
"The Tempus Cult?"
"Yes. I know about that. But what does it have..." Finally, something clicked in Elena’s head. "Don’t tell me... Is it him?" She asked in wonder.
Her mouth was wide open, staring at the Grizzly.
"Yeah. As a friend, the least I can give you is a warning."
*Gulp* Elena nervously gulped down another glass of beer.
*Phew* She almost got herself killed a few seconds ago.
She had heard and seen the stuff that happened in Tempus Cult personally. As someone who helped Grizzly cover up the incident and hide evidence, she knew more than others.
For example, she had gotten hold of some of the backup security cameras inside the building.
While it was impossible to see exactly what was happening, she could hear the sounds of skulls being crushed and flesh being torn.
Even though she was a powerful superhuman, it was impossible for her to do something as cruel and emotionlessly as the man in the video.
"A wolf in sheep’s clothing."
"A monster in a human costume."
She mumbled and continued to drink more beer.
Grizzly ignored and continued to do his job.

Meanwhile, Oliver walked home in a hurry.
He had to prepare for a long night.
The evening sun set as the crimson glow covered the western horizon.
It had taken a while for him to reach home. Oliver promptly went to his room and connected the communication device he had just bought to the computer.
Then swiftly stored all of the data he had collected until now onto the device.
For the past few days, Oliver has been attacking M-fresh and its affiliates, stealing money and data from their systems.
He didn’t really care about the money.
On the other hand, the data was important to him.
The data logs held the information about their customers. When he connected the info he had on demons and the Tempus Cult, it became a lot easier to find their relationships and smuggling routes.
It was not strong evidence, but it could sprout the seed of doubt.
However, Oliver didn’t yet have any conclusive evidence on M-fresh and Indra’s cooperation to sell void stones.
At most, he could link M-fresh and the Demons.
If Indra wanted to, he could easily weasel his way out of it.
’I hope this works out.’
Oliver thought and shut down the computer.
The only use of void stones was to stabilize gates. If they are being smuggled out, it means that there is a gate being created that’s out of the military control.
Once the demons have easy access to the second earth, a large-scale invasion will occur.
’Indra, that damned guy was willing to sell the entire planet for power.’
Demons are parasitic creatures that were living dormant on second earth. When humans entered the second Earth, they dug up ancient temples and ruins, freeing them from their prison.
Currently, these exact demons are invading Earth to take control of it.
Fortunately, demons were low in number because it was extremely difficult for them to reproduce.
All demons were clones that upgraded themselves through the integration of host DNA.
After taking over multiple host bodies, they come back to their origin and share the genetic information to create a better self.
Through this process, they grow stronger.
And for reproduction to be possible, they have to evolve into a state where they have a lot of mana and genetic information. Once they achieve this state, they divide and reproduce like bacteria, creating more clones.
The second generation formed through this process would be better than the previous generation.
It was an iterative process that constantly strengthened them.
’Humanity has no chance to win if they are taking the current path.’
’Indra has to die. Anyone who’s helping demons has to die.’ Oliver judged.
’The reason Indra is helping demons is that they can help him grow stronger. As creatures that are more experienced in using mana, they could do what humans can’t. I don’t know how exactly they are helping Indra. But the one thing I am sure of is that it was not without demerits. After all, Indra became a demon serving the demon king in the end.’ Oliver thought and stood up.
It was time to eat dinner.
—
After dinner, as usual, Oliver waited till everyone was asleep and wore black light armour inside his clothes and jumped out of his house.
Today, he planned to ransack an M-fresh store on Bronze Street.
On his back, he was carrying a small backpack containing his weapons, and swiftly rode the electric bike to his destination.
Each M-fresh store holds millions of creds worth of mana beast meat.
Oliver usually ransacks the place, steals the data, and breaks the refrigeration unit of the store before returning while beating up the guards.
Today, he hoped it would get more exciting.
