The throne level was grand, simply grand.

Shiny black stones for the four high walls that reached the incredibly high bloody red ceiling.

The ground was just one piece of smoothened white marble, shiny and reflecting the light from the glowing gems that had been arranged in a spiral pattern across the whole ceiling and walls.

Some of the gems were dim, lacking the energy to keep on shining after so many years but some of them were still glowing brightly, illuminating the environment.

The elevator that had risen out of the floor was at the very center of the throne level. The door opened up to reveal Kael with faintly glowing eyes and his mane puffed out.

Three hundred meters in diameter, and three hundred meters tall, Kael roughly measured the dimension of the throne level.

As for how a cube-shaped room could fit into the top of a pyramid, Kael had no idea and he wasn’t willing to think about it now.

From the elevator door, a pathway lit up with green intricate carvings that blended harshly with the white marble floor.

This green pattern pathway led all the way to the ’throne’.

The throne itself looked like a really big, leather black bean bag with gold designs on its body.

An overly luxurious pillow, that’s what it looked like. It made sense since lions had no need for chairs in the first place, pillows were preferred.

Kael rushed out of the elevator to the throne, conscious of the group that may be following him.

He reached the throne and stared down at it in wonder. Placed on the throne were two objects.

These objects each appeared to be a cross-shaped crystal thing. Somewhat transparent and releasing an aura of mystery from its depths.

Heavenly Beacons, the symbol of the lion kings.

There was still some difference between the two.

The cross-shaped crystal on his left was fairly transparent and had no color to it. It floated off the surface of the luxurious pillow and looked quite ordinary compared to the heavenly beacon in general right.

The other heavenly beacon shone with a dark gold light. Same shape, same size, but its aura was deeper and more oppressive.

It felt ancient, like something that had been resting too long, something that was eagerly waiting to be active again.

This was it.

This was what Kael needed. Every other thing in this pyramid was worthless compared to this heavenly beacon, Noel’s heavenly beacon.

Before Kael could do anything, the elevator at the center of the throne room shook.

*BAM!*

Something slammed into the bottom of the elevator, causing the contraption to tremble and rattle.

Then, the elevator was slowly being lifted into the air by an underneath force. The elevator rose high enough for Kael to make out the heads of Xu Ying, Alora, and the other lions.

Their heads poked from the gap beneath the elevator as Xu Ying pushed the elevator upward. This was taxing as although he was able to move the elevator, it was only rising slowly.

"KAEL!" Alora shouted, she almost seemed to be begging Kael not to do anything.

Kael turned away, peeling his eyes away from them and leaving his back to their gazes.

It was too late, they were too slow.

Kael raised his paw and touched the golden cross-shaped crystal.

There was an immediate reaction as two surfaces coated with the Conquering Essence touched each other.

The heavenly beacon, as if sensing something that had been lost to it for eons, vibrated excitedly.

It drew closer and closer to Kael’s chest until it sank into his mane and then into his chest.

*BA DUMP!*

Xu Ying stared wide-eyed as Kael stumbled back, his limbs quivering and his fur standing on their ends.

*BA DUMP!*

The heartbeat of the Primordial Lionheart was audible for all to hear, not just within the pyramid, but outside as well.

*BA DUMP!*

All the water lions within the pocket dimension heard it clearly and they could feel their heartbeat rates adjusting to match the rhythm of the heartbeat of the Primordial Lion.

Below the pyramid, one of the octopus leaders, the Spirit Octopus, had already taken control of the mind of a Water Lion. She intended to use the water lion to infiltrate the pyramid while controlling it from the outside.

This was a good idea and it would have worked.

*BA DUMP!*

The mind-controlled water lion immediately went stiff, his body convulsed as she tried to regain autonomy of his own body.

The spirit octopus was confused, it still had control over the lion’s mind but he could feel that the lion was fighting to regain control.

This shouldn’t be so.

The water lions everywhere were reacting, acting extra aggressively with renewed vigor. They fought like soldiers who had finally seen something to die for, their hearts beat with excitement.

Back at the throne level of the pyramid, Kael was undergoing drastic and rapid changes.

Xu Ying had finally pushed the elevator upward enough for him and the others to rush into the throne room.

However, perhaps, it was because their desire for the heavenly beacon was stronger than the other lions in the pocket dimension, or maybe it was due to their proximity to the evolving Kael, but they were all able to resist the urge for aggressiveness within them.

Every step they took closer to Kael’s growing form was met with a feeling of trepidation. A distance that they could have covered in an instant felt like a vast desolate space.

Of all of them, Baba was the least willing to move, he didn’t even move at all. Xu Ying and Alora were the two who pressed forward despite how their hearts drummed badly against their chests.

For Xu Ying, he had to get the heavenly beacon. If not, he wouldn’t be able to go back to heaven.

For Alora…

Xu Ying wondered what could force Alora to punish herself to this extent. Her formerly pure white fur was now stained with her blood. Her eyes showed that she was exhausted, yet she still kept on moving. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

Everything was moving fast, but the world seemed to be slowing down as the second passed.

*BA DUMP!*

Kael felt his heart slam against the chambers of his chest, his blood pulsed with raging power, and his muscles tensed.

His bones cracked slightly as he grew. His paws were getting wider and his head was getting bigger.

His dark gold mane became darker and thicker, stretching from his head, around his neck, covering his chest, and extending all the way to the center of his body.

The tail behind him elongated, becoming as thick as a human fist.

The Conquering Essence, the thing that caused the fifth level to have that golden hue, began to flow toward him. Passing through the walls of the pyramid and flowing like a stream into Kael’s body.

His heart energy, the golden energy pool that resided within his heart expanded exponentially. The energy spilled out through his veins and flesh, leaking into the energy pools for the other powers he had.

With this leak, the separate energy pools began to undergo a change of their own. Their essence began to be corrupted by the properties of Conquering.

Kael finally stopped growing, he had now achieved a height of three meters, paw to head. And he was now six meters long, from his nose to the tip of his tail.

*BA DUMP!*

This heartbeat was different, a pulse was released that traveled through space and time, crossing the barrier of the pocket dimension and spreading through the whole planet.

The pulse went beyond the planet, spreading about and reaching every corner of the cosmos.

The pulse seeped into heaven, causing a commotion. Today, heaven was bound to be filled with challenging roars of lion kings.

It was this day, every lion alive knew that the ninth Primordial Lion had been born.

"Eridoria, the birth world of the ninth Primordial Lion…" Aziza’s pre-recorded voice sounded out through the whole pyramid at this time.

"...the day shall come when you will once again witness the glory of the lion race. Until then, goodbye forever,"

The last recorded message that Aziza had prepared had been played, but it wasn’t for any of the lions present. It was a message to this planet, Eridoria.

It was a message that was meant to be played if the Iron Blood Pyramid came under new ownership.

Kael’s large right paw had rested on the pillow throne, causing the gold patterns that decorated its sides to glow brightly. He could feel the softness of the throne but he could also feel something else.

The Iron Blood Pyramid had come under new ownership, his ownership. There was no resistance at all, everything seemed to have enough waiting for him.

But it was also at this moment that Noel’s and Aziza’s preparations ended. The stars no longer aligned and the world no longer gave way for him.

Now, he was truly on his own.

Just then, a white figure flashed at the edge of his vision, he glanced slightly, turning his head to see Alora and Xu Ying coming at him.

No, they were coming for Aziza’s heaven beacon that was still floating above the pillow throne.

Kael shook his head, he sent out instructions to the whole pyramid and the pyramid,, in turn hummed to life.

"Expel,"
