"Expel," Kael said calmly.

The whole pyramid hummed to life as it reacted to Kael’s instructions.

Alora and Xu Ying both pounced at the heavenly beacon with Xu Ying being ahead of Alora because he was faster.

Right before Xu Ying’s claws could touch the heavenly beacon, both he and Alora froze mid-air.

"No," Xu Ying panicked, forgetting to remain calm and collected. He could already tell what was about to happen but he was unwilling to let go.

With a ruthless look in his eyes, the runes on his neck lit up and two magic circles appeared in front of his face.

Two magic projectiles shot out of the magic circle to hit Kael square on his face.

Unfortunately, Xu Ying was disappointed to find that his desperate attack had little effect. It was as if those projectiles had hit an iron wall.

Kael merely squinted his eyes, his mane shook, and his head moved slightly, but that was it. It was painful but definitely not powerful enough to cause any significant damage to him.

Xu Ying would have to put in more effort if he really planned on hurting Kael at this level he was at now.

Alora had her eyes on the cross-shaped crystal, it was so close, so close. If only she could just touch it.

Kael wouldn’t let her.

Xu Ying and Alora were pulled back by the powers of the pyramid. Not just them, but the other lions and lionesses behind them.

Multiple wide holes that led to the outside world opened up on the walls of the throne level.

*CAAAWH!*

The maddening and excited cries of birds flowed into the throne room like an audio tsunami.

Seeing the entrances suddenly appearing at the highest level of the pyramid, they rushed in without thinking.

*BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM!...*

Most of the birds slammed into an invisible barrier, their bodies compressing and fragmenting into pieces of flesh, blood, and feathers.

The commotion at the top attracted the gazes of the creatures below.

At the point when many of them considered climbing the pyramid, multiple figures were shot out of the throne level through those entrances.

Xu Ying and the youthful lions found themselves flying out of the throne level after being seized by a spatial hold.

One by one, their bodies fell and slammed into the flat side of the pyramid. The metal platings emitted clink and clanking sounds as the lions tried to regain their bearing.

"RECALL, NOW!" Xu Ying ordered, after which he activated the recall rune on his body.

"Adolf and Chloe are still in there!" King Larvis’s granddaughter commented as her claws scratched the surface of the metal platings, successfully stopping herself from falling.

But no one registered her words, not even her brother. They all activated their recall runes.

Even Alora who seems at a loss and exhausted activated the rune on her.

Spatial portals appeared around them one after the other, sucking them in and transporting them away from the confines of the pocket dimension.

King Larvis’s granddaughter sighed, there was no point staying here anymore, they had lost.

A spatial portal appeared behind her and sucked her into it.

The birds and creatures on land had been chasing after the expelled lions, hoping to steal whatever treasure they had gotten from the pyramid.

However, their sudden disappearance stopped them all in their tracks.

At the same time, small hatches opened up all over the Iron Blood Pyramid. Hundreds of these hatches belched out the aura of death.

The octopus and squid leaders looked at these hatches, their sixth sense warning them of danger.

As if to prove them right, silver cannons rolled out of the hatches. Like dragons of destruction, the barrels brightened up with flames gathering or electricity surging.

The birds, the sharks, the water lions, the squids, the seahorses, the sea serpents, the fishmen, all of them felt dread.

They had never seen a cannon before but as savage beasts, their instinctive sense of danger was at the peak. These cannons, they were pure danger.

*BOOM!*

*BOOM!*

*BOOM!*

*BOOM!*

The cannons roared as blasts of concentrated flames and lightning struck the hordes of beasts.

The birds cried.

Pain, Kael brought the realm of pain and delivered it swiftly and ruthlessly.

The only ones that were spared were the water lions and it wasn’t out of mercy.

The smell of burnt flesh and seafood filled the air as the creatures ran for their lives, trying to get away from the pyramid.

The birds soared high into the sky, grazing their backs against the dimensional barrier. But even then, they were not all able to escape.

Beams of lightning streaked through the sky, shooting down each large bird one by one.

It was a massacre, the burnt bodies of different birds and aquatic creatures littered the grounds. There was no blood as it had mostly been boiled out and evaporated into the surroundings.

Very few creatures were able to escape. From their thousands, all that was left were a few hundred.

Even then, the new master of this world had no intention of letting them go. So many resources gathered in one place, where else would he see such an opportunity?

Outside the pocket dimension.

Xu Ying’s magic shuttle hummed as the magic runes and lines lit up with energy.

The hatches beneath the shuttle opened and soft blue beams shot out from them.

Beneath the shuttle, the whirlpool that had been spinning for more than two days was collapsing.

The portal at the bottom of the whirlpool was getting unstable, the few creatures that were still trying to enter saw that it was no longer worth it.

The edges of the portal waved and cracked, shrinking as the entrance to the dimension grew smaller and smaller.

It was at this time that some rats floated out of the portal with the help of the soft blue beams coming from the hatches of Xu Ying’s magic shuttle.

The rats were not as many as before, there were just seventy-eight of them. When they entered the pocket dimension, there were more than two hundred of them.

A cheetah with wings attached to his ankles also sped out of the portal before it closed.

The whirlpool closed and the portal faded away. Two sharks who were in the process of swimming out had their bodies cut into two halves.

One half floated lifelessly in the sea of the main world while the other half floated in the lake of the pocket dimension.

The magic shuttle activated its hover thrusters and readied its personal cannons, just in case of a certain enemy appearing.

It ascended into the clouds, soon to reach the planet’s low orbit. Still, the lions within kept a watchful eye on the sea for any changes.

They were now stuck on this planet, at least it seemed like it. The only person who could grant them passage back to heaven was unfortunately not on good terms with them now.

"What do we do now," Baba asked.

All of them had transformed into their anthropomorphic forms, sitting on the floor or resting their backs against the metal walls.

The shuttle was eerily silent, perhaps it was due to the lack of rat slaves. With so few remaining, 27 was tasked with making emergency long-term plans, and enacting the breeding program.

"I don’t know," Xu Ying said, shaking his head.

He sat in his chair which was strangely made for a human form to sit on. His blue coat brushed to his side as he leaned forward and rested his head on his right knuckle.

He was thinking, that was all he could do, for now, think.

That he hadn’t expected something like this to happen would be a lie. From the moment he confirmed that the whole pocket dimension had a Fortune Suppression, he knew something was bound to go wrong.

Fortune Suppression, that was the first indication that things may not go their way.

Normally, things like luck played a huge role in the missions of the lion race. The lack of luck would have already signaled bad luck and warning for them to retreat. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

The outcome of this expedition was simply an example of what happened when the factor of fortune was removed from the equation.

Not to mention Aziza had mentioned that Noel literally pulled the strings of fate to ensure that things went in favor of the next Primordial Lion.

It was a rigged game from the start.

Xu Ying had expected all this to happen, but he had hoped, something he shouldn’t have done as a Magus Lion.

Even though he knew that this might happen, even when he knew that Kael might win, he knew he may not have the power to stop it.

And now, the Primordial Lion’s birth has been announced to the world. He still recalled how his heart beat terribly against his chest.

"And then, there’s this one," Xu Ying muttered as he glanced at Alora who stood in one corner, resting her back against the wall, her hands folded and her head lowered in thought.

Xu Ying’s eyes were sharp, he saw the blood-mixed tears that slid down her cheeks. She tried to hide it from everyone by lowering her head, but Xu Ying could tell that Alora was crying.

’Why?’
