Chapter 64: 63. A Real Dragon (1)

[Goddess of Wisdom has assigned you a quest.]

I straightened up from my seat as soon as I read the quest.

[Stop the destruction of the Second Wall and protect Frosthail.

Reward: Prophetic Insight.

Failure: Destruction of North.]

"Second Wall this time."

[The attack will happen in 2 minutes.]

"Why the hell do you guys have to drop the damn bomb at the last minutes?!"

I hurriedly leapt out of the window and rushed towards the Second Wall which was thankfully closer than any other wall.

[Time left: 1 minute 20 seconds.]

The Winter Solstice ball must be in full swing right now and even the people all around the town seemed to be enjoying themselves without even having a thought of the impending doom.

"Oi, system why can’t you just teleport me?"

[The facilities are given according to the caliber of the Host. Since you have gathered enough skills and have the power of flight the teleportation facility of the system has been cancelled.]

"Screw you!"

The Second Wall was right in front of me and there were only a few guards on it. It didn’t seem like even they were expecting anything to happen.

I whipped my head around looking for the canon or something that was going to destroy the Second Wall but instead of a large canon I spotted two figures emerging from the snowy range and walking straight towards the Wall.

[Time left: 12 seconds]

"Damn!" I growled as I saw one of the two men point at the wall.

[Time left: 05 seconds.]

I shot down from the air and landed right in front of the Wall which was the aim and was instantly bathed in the light. My hands went up automatically in a X position shielding my face.

[Passive skill Shield of Invulnerability has been activated.]

I couldn’t help but feel slightly weird as the attack slowly subsided. It was a beam that had extremely high offence rate and it was hot as if I was shot by high radiation beam.

The beam stopped and I faced the two attackers who now stood in front of me. One of them seemed like a normal man while the other was a taller person with a slight hunch.

There was a strange vibe that I was feeling from the tall, hunched figure draped in black.

"What the- where the hell did you come from?" I heard an unfamiliar voice gasp coming from the man.

I put my hands down, the sleeves were singed off exposing my arms and unscathed skin as I faced my opponents.

"Ho-How the devil are you unscathed?" He shouted as he looked at me.

"What the hell is going down there? Who are you all?" I heard a shout from above the Wall.

"Ah, we’ve been caught. Well, it’s not that bad. You’ve survived one attack, you won’t survive other."

He gestured for his partner to attack again and the person seemed to inhale deeply taking around three seconds before the beam shot out of its mouth hitting me straight again.

I stood still in my place taking the attack head-on again feeling my cloak catching the fire from the beam while I didn’t feel anything.

The two stood dumbstruck after the attack was over and I dusted the ashes off my body before looking up at the guard who had seen it all.

"Oi, listen carefully!" I shouted from beneath.

"Wha-"

"Alert everyone! Summon the Seraph Knights, get the rest guards off the wall and evacuate the people from the nearest towns! The Wall might break!"

The guard seemed to pause for a moment as the shock hit him.

"What!"

"Hurry!" I shouted making him rush off.

"Damn, and here I thought there won’t be any trouble this time." The attacker who stood a few meters away groaned.

"Were you the ones who destroyed the Third Wall?" I asked instead.

The man seemed to have gathered his senses again as the element of surprise subsided.

"So what?"

I cracked my knuckles, "Ah, good thing you came around yourself. I was having a hard time investigating it anyways. This is convenient."

The man laughed, "You think I’ll tell you anything?"

"I’ll make you."

"We’ll see."

"Drac, what are you waiting for? Hurry and destroy that Wall. His reinforcements will be here soon."

The sound of the emergency bell ringing echoed off across the night and the man grunted.

"You little- how dare you foil our plan!"

"Are you only going to waste your time talking?" I asked.

"Very well then, I’ll be your opponent."

I didn’t get a moment to prepare as he disappeared from his spot and in a flash appeared in front of me with his fist raised.

I lifted my hand to grab his fist but from the corner of my eye I saw the person Drac preparing for another attack at the Wall.

I dodged the man before standing as a shield for the Wall again; handling both of them at once was a bit hard as the fist hit my face making me stumble back by one foot.

"Whoa! There’s something wrong with you..." The man spoke and I noticed the glint in his eyes before the beam hit me.

It was a bit too much to handle both of them at once with no strategy.

The attack wore off and I faced the man properly this time, his head was covered by the hood and half his face was scarred so badly that one look would make any person run for the hills.

"That was third time in a row, yet you are unscathed." He grinned making his scarred face twisted horrendously.

I would have to take them off the wall first, I couldn’t stand here and protect the wall and fight these two at the same time.

The flurry of attacks were coming from the man and the Drac was following his own instructions, I activated my Dragon’s Presence along with Mana Sense and Mana Eyes before punching the guy straight into his stomach making him fly away at an insane speed.

I faced the person, Drac then who had stopped moving, its jaw seemed open but there was no beam it was simply standing there as if frozen in spot. His mana capacity was quite huge and for some reason, I could understand why he was able to deliver such a massive powered attack.

He wasn’t a human.

"Your turn." I spoke as I moved towards the Drac.

He didn’t move but I did notice something else flying towards me, I jumped away right in time and the explosion occured where I had been a moment ago.

"Hah! That punch was... quite good." The man stumbled back cradling his stomach and stood for the fight again.

"I had no idea there was someone here who was capable of delivering such a strong punch. You impress me!"

"And you disgust me."

The man laughed, "You’re quite amusing, lad. Let’s go all out from now, I won’t hold back as well."

Hold back? This bastard was holding back? frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

It wouldn’t do any good though, I had the passive skill of Shield of Invulnerability which would nullify any attack except for the ones coming from the other angels or God Himself. And this person didn’t seem anything like any divine entity.

Whoever this bastard was, he wasn’t to be taken lightly but I also couldn’t ignore the other guy who could destroy the Wall with a single spell.

Both of them were monsters of sorts.

I prepared myself for the fight as I faced the two.

The man went ahead first, I could follow his movements clearly thanks to Mana Eyes but what was irking me was the lack of movement from the other guy’s side.

The man and I engaged in fistfight with the speed that might be blinding to the normal eye. He was clearly a professional combatant and it must be the result of years and years of hard work and experience. But that still wouldn’t work as I also had my own accumulated experience and power.

The man seemed like a fight junkie as he was laughing throughout as our punches landed on either. His attacks didn’t do anything to my body while mine seemed to be having the effects as I could see the blood gushing from his crushed nose and busted lips.

"My punches have no effect!" He laughed maniacally before he pulled back but I didn’t let him have a leeway as I was right on him again with my foot raised high in the air to axe-kick him and split open his crazy head.

He barely managed to dodge it and the ground where he stood split open instead.

He wiped the blood from his face and came for me again.

The glint of silver winked at me and I threw my head back avoiding the dagger that he had unleashed. He grinned madly showing off his bloodstained teeth while I dodged the dagger.

He was swiping in a frantic and swift manner which left a lot of openings but they were only for a few milliseconds so I couldn’t go ahead unless I wanted to be cut. Regardless, a part of me was still focused on the unmoving partner who was looking at us.

I felt the blade nick over my exposed arm but it left no cut or injury which was noticed by the attacker. He went in with even more fervent attacks and I found an opening pretty easily now.

I swung my foot and kicked him in the stomach making him fly away again and land beside his partner.

"Why won’t the attacks work on him?" I heard him growl as he slowly sat up holding his abdomen and coughed up blood.

"I-It’s a real one..."

The partner finally spoke up and I couldn’t help but notice the strange voice. It seemed as if the vocal cords of the person were destroyed to make his voice sound coarse and guttaral.

"Real one? What are you talking about?"

Drac turned his head and looked at his partner.

"Tha-Tha-That-t’s a real dragon!"
