The Kingmaker System-Chapter 128 - 127. Dorm Life (3)
Chapter 128: 127. Dorm Life (3)
[Quest complete.
{Bring justice to the victims of corruption going on in Eden University.}
Reward received: Telekinesis.]
This was the first notification I saw when I woke up.
I stared at the screen before me for a few seconds and surely enough I could feel the subtle enhancement in my mana control.
[Giver of Gifts congratulates you on successfully completing your quest.]
[Goddess of Wisdom congratulates you for doing a good job.]
[Defender of Divine Glory praises your act of philanthropy.]
"Thank you, thank you." I mumbled as I got out of bed.
It had been three days since Eric and Rune’s dorm life had started but what I didn’t expect was the trial going on with Douglas Clark to be ended so quickly.
I guess I would get to hear the detailed report once I reach my study at Ryujin mansion.
I got ready and went to have breakfast with Dad since Rune was now living at Eldarf. I had his and Eric’s stuff to be sent over there after they had decided to start living there right away.
I had some explaining to do regarding Eric but with Dad, he was happy to know that Rune was enjoying his time with his new friends, learning new things.
Marquis didn’t say anything about Eric being gone for a month but Lady Elise asked me if I could take her to that place once in a while to see how her son was doing with his new friends. Eric didn’t have anyone whom he could call friends except for Davian, probably but I had never heard him mention Davian after I had brought him to Fairisles mansion.
I wondered if things were all right between them.
But then again, friends do grow apart with time. The matters with life take over and while you’re sorting your problems you couldn’t keep track of what your friend would be doing.
Eric and Davian had their own problems and it wasn’t like modern times where you could simply leave a message to your friend and then get a reply. The communication here wasn’t the same, the attitude, the trend everything was different. At times like this, I couldn’t help but wonder if I should bring modernization to this world as well.
Maybe I could start designing the stuff that I had learned about in my past life, the machines that made life easier. Silas and his team would have to suffer for actually manufacturing it all but maybe I could start slowly and go through.
I had a gun, a communication device and the security devices that I had designed so, maybe I could design some more and then start bringing them into the market.
"Reina?" I blinked back to reality as I heard my name being called and looked at Dad.
"Yes, Father?"
"Why aren’t you eating? Is there something troubling you?" He asked and I realised that I had stopped eating.
"No, it’s nothing. I was just thinking how Brother must be doing at the new place."
Dad hummed, "I think about that too, besides, I didn’t expect you to arrange a new place for him to train."
"Well, that’s because, I don’t want him to get hurt in future."
"Will you ask him to go on such missions again?"
"He insists on going," I said and Dad seemed a little worried so, I added.
"That’s why, it’s for the best that he trains and gets stronger so that he would come back safely every time."
Dad chuckled a little and then looked at me with a deep solemn look in his eyes, "It still couldn’t make my worries any less, Reina. You and Rune are my precious kids and your mother left you in my hands so that I could take good care of you and bring you two up in the best way possible so, I couldn’t help but feel worried everytime you are away from me doing something dangerous."
I knew me assuring him wouldn’t mean anything after what he’d just said. He was a parent that genuinely loved his children. And despite an oddity like me had appeared in their lives he seemed to have not cared of my bizarre ideas and actions and still kept loving me as his own.
After breakfast, I went to Ryujin mansion and Enora stood there in my study with the detailed reports about the trial ready.
"Douglas Clark is sentenced to be executed in four days at the town center for his crimes. Every student of Eden whom he had wronged were assured that they would be reinstated. The children who were kicked out were accepted back and would get to complete their studies for free without having to pay for anything and the victims who were found at the Herot city auction were taken into the Oasis as per your order."
"That’s good."
I had asked for the people who were found at the Herot city to be handed over to Oasis since I was already collecting such people. The people in authority couldn’t bother with such people so it was easy for them to just leave them in my hands.
"What about the buildings that I had told about?"
"The construction is complete, you can tour it anytime between today or tomorrow." Enora answered and I hummed.
"Good, then, I guess I could go and visit them today. Would you like to join me?" I asked and she smiled.
"I’d love you, Master."
After lunch, I, Enora, Remi and Roan left my mansion. Remi and Roan ran into us on the way and since I was going out they tagged along.
I got on the carriage with them and Remi who sat beside me looked out of the window while Roan who sat beside Enora looked at me and asked.
"I thought you only travelled by flying or teleportation, Master."
"I have to use carriage for this trip."
"Where are we going, Master?" Remi asked.
"To see the buildings that I had ordered to be made."
"Buildings?"
"Yes."
"What kind of buildings?"
"You’ll get the explanation once we reach there." I said and Roan shrugged his shoulders while Remi continued looking out of the window. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
After half an hour of the carriage ride we were out and Enora led the way down the street. The people who saw me greeted me with smiles and bows and I smiled back as I walked along.
"Everyone seems to really like you, Master." Remi said.
"Can’t deny that he does have a knack with being a guardian for everyone." Roan commented and I chuckled.
"Am I hearing a compliment from you, Roan?" I asked.
"Well, it’s what you do so why not?"
I smiled I walked ahead and after crossing the market place I saw the three large buildings that were made with the insignia of Ryujin over them.
"Whoa..." Remi gasped.
"Shall we head inside, Master?" Enora said gesturing towards the first building.
I nodded and we walked up the marble stairs into the granite buildings, the walls had the simple murals and the potted plants were arranged at every intervals.
"This place is the waiting area," Enora said gesturing at the large empty space and then walked towards the stairs.
"The four floors above will be for the administrative departments as you had ordered to. The space has been utilised as you had designed, all that remains is the required furniture and the man power that will be hired to be in these places." Enora explained.
We walked over all the four floors listening to everything that Enora was explaining. I knew this place quite well as I was the one who designed it but watching it after construction was a new feeling. It felt as if my efforts had manifested into something tangible.
"Now, let’s head over to the other building." Enora said.
"The underground network connects these buildings so that incase of emergency the people inside could escape without any problem and the chambers are also made to keep the confidential files and documents safe."
We entered the second building and the similar entrance came to view with the potted plants and the warm decor.
The empty reception area was also similar except for the floors above.
"Since this place is already at work, the furniture had already been placed and the other necessities are being handled under the supervision of Doc." Enora said as we walked up the stairs.
"Oh, good."
"Master?" I turned and saw Doc walking down the hallway with some papers in his hands.
"Long time no see, Doc." I smiled.
"Yes, indeed." He said before we walked up to me and bowed.
"How are the patients?" I asked looking at the rooms which had some people inside.
"They’re good, not grave injuries. The medicine and other stock is already here so, everything is going fine." He reported and I nodded.
"You finally have a larger place to work at now."
"You mean I have more work now." I laughed at that and then looked at Remi and Roan.
"Oh, you haven’t met them, right?" I said.
"This is Doc Black, he is our talented doctor and these two are Remi and Roan."
"You’ve picked another strays." Doc commented making Enora chuckle.
"Who are you calling stray?" Roan demanded.
Doc turned his sharp gaze on him and I could see Roan frown a little as Doc often gave off a very intimidating air.
"You shouldn’t go around calling my handpicked people, strays, Doc." I said and he sighed.
"Apologies, Master."
"Good, so, I guess we should be heading the the other place now." I said and Enora nodded.
"Are you finally starting these places officially, Master?" Doc asked and I smiled.
"Yes, it’s time."
We walked out of that building and were making our way towards the last building when I heard Roan ask.
"Master, what are thess places?"
I smiled as I turned to look at him.
"This is my empire, Roan." I said making his eyes go wide.
"It’s named, Oasis Foundation."
