Lyall brought me the relevant information about the target that I was given.
"I didn’t know the Scorpion had such interesting tastes." I chuckled as Lyall mentioned it in his report.
"This person is extremely important for Scorpion. If we were to complete this mission then, it will be as good as telling the world that war is close."
"We’ll try not to wage a full blown war, Lyall. Innocents shouldn’t be hurt."
"Also, I got some more information regarding which I thought you might want to know." He added and I looked at him.
"What is it?"
"Do you remember the time when the fight broke out at night among the bandits?"
I nodded, "It was instigated by this person. He was trying to kidnap some young ones along with taking out the bandits."
"Why target bandits when they are living on the outskirts?"
"To locate the Revolutionary Army or probably because there was some other reason." Lyall mused and I hummed.
"All right, for now this much information is good enough. You did well." I patted his shoulder.
The next night, I was in my position ready to put the plan into action. The instructions were given and all the pieces were set in their positions.
I was currently in an appearance that closely resembled to my Ocean’s body type with caramel skin, green eyes and ashy blonde hair that were created with the help of Silas’s disguise device.
Silas was confused at times because of my demand of the disguise devices with different appearances but little did he knew that I would use his device to act as a slave.
The reason for this disguise was the peculiar taste of the Tyrant of Mordino.
Salem Khal’Rozjhiad, the Tyrant of Mordino was a man who had a liking for men who had androgynous beautiful bodies. Up till now, he had created his own harem of such men which exceeded till hundred most of them were plucked from all over Mordino or were slaves that were illegally brought from the other countries.
Salem had accumulated so much wealth and the objects of his pleasure in abundance and continued doing so with the help of his ministers who never stopped kissing his ass.
One of such was the guy who was the source of the supply of these playthings for the tyrant. And he was our current target.
Lyall tugged as the rope in his hand as he walked a few steps ahead of me jerking me along as that rope was tied to my wrists.
There were visible bruises on my arms and legs as I staggered behind him with my head down and my ashy blonde hair hanging over my face.
We were having a role play again.
Lyall was starting to get better at acting as he was now in the role of a man of Mordino who wanted to sell his son because he wanted money for booze.
A cliche story but believable enough for our target.
Lyall dragged me up to the slave market that was more or less like the black market of Izkar that I took over before I set out for Mordino.
A lot of people had gathered over and I could see that it was an auction for the slaves. Lyall took charge and walked up to the people who were discussing.
I had purposely asked him to drink before coming and sprayed some alcohol on his tunic giving him a brash look of a commoner.
"Hey, where’s the place to sell brats?" He asked slurring his words.
The people who looked like they were from the well-off background by their ornaments and clothes gave Lyall a look of disgust.
"Hurry and tell me, I need to sell this piece of trash and go drink!" Lyall shouted.
Create a commotion and attract as much attention as we could. That was the first step of the plan.
I was feigning sniffling and crying as Lyall was doing his part well of making people turn their heads.
"Where’s the damn auction?" Lyall demanded.
"Oh, this brute! It’s over there!" The men shouted pointing at the wooden door.
"It’s just a damn door!" Lyall shouted.
"Just go inside and tell them you want to sell him and stop bothering us!" One of the two men shouted pointing at the wooden door.
I could see the veins in his forehead and neck bulging, it was almost funny how much a loud drunk could piss someone off.
Lyall tugged at my rope pulling me ahead behind him, he opened the door and we came face to face with a small room and a line in front of us.
Lyall looked around just as I was, there were a lot of kids or girls who were being sold off by someone.
Were humans livestock here?
Lyall’s turn came up and he stepped ahead, I was busy looking around so he had to tug harder making me fall forward.
"Quit dragging your feet, brat!" He snapped making me feign a whimper.
I faced the two men who sat at the table with a piece of paper. The two eyes me as I stood behind Lyall with my head down and crying, I could feel them scanning me up and down.
"What’s his name?"
"Lynx." Lyall spoke.
With the amount of aliases I was using I might by mistakenly end up using an alias while standing in Reina’s form some day.
"Age?"
"16."
One of the two wrote it down.
"Is it his first time here?"
"Yes, he used to beg for me before but now this trash couldn’t even bring more than a few pennies so, I’ll just sell him off for some good amount." Lyall spoke slamming his fist on my head making me yelp and hold my head.
"Weak brat!" Lyall grimaced and gripped my hair tugging it back to show my face.
He was acting way too well as an abusive and drunk father.
The two stared at my face for a long moment, well, I had purposely made it so that not even women but men would fall for this beauty.
"Don’t hit him, he’s our product now. If he’s damaged you won’t get a good amount." The man warned and Lyall let go of my hair making me whimper and tremble.
The act of weak person was a little hard and I couldn’t help but feel embarrassed.
"I-I will beg for more money, father. Please don’t sell me!" I cried tugging at his tunic and looking at him with pleading eyes.
"Stop yapping!" Lyall pushed me away.
"Does he have any diseases?" The man asked.
"No," Lyall answered.
"Why is his hair like that?"
"My wife was a slave from another Kingdom she had this hair color, he’s inherited that."
The story that was prepared along with a lot of other background for any questions that would be thrown at us.
"She must’ve been quite a beauty for him to be this eye-catching." The man commented smirking.
I avoided his leering gaze as I kept pleading with Lyall aka my father to not sell me.
"All right, I’ve put him on the list. Bring him in that room and wait for a while. You will get the your share after the auction."
Lyall took me inside the room that was connected to the small room by a single door and was flanked by two burly men.
The atmosphere inside the room was dark and gloomy with a lot of figures huddled on the ground and some men who were standing close to the other door.
One of those men took my hand and cut the rope making me look at Lyall with my lower lip quivering.
"You can wait outside, you will be taken to the auction house from the other side." The other man instructed.
"Do-Don’t leave me, Father!" I shouted trying to reach out to Lyall who was leaving.
However, the man who cut the rope of my wrists tugged me over to the huddled figures.
"Sit here." He ordered and grabbed a pair of handcuffs putting them on my wrists and ankles.
"If you try to run then you’ll lose your legs, do you get that?" He threatened and I sniffled as I curled up in a fetal position.
[Defender of Divine Glory wonders what it is that humans eat while watching something entertaining.]
"Huh?"
[Goddess of Wisdom answers of it to be popcorn.]
"Are you guys serious?" I thought.
[Goddess of Wisdom says she has some and shares her popcorn with Defender of Divine Glory.]
"Don’t go around eating popcorn while watching my misery!"
I sighed and heard the crying and sniffling from all around me.
I turned and looked at the guy sitting beside me, he was crying as well.
"What’s your name?" I asked and he looked at me with his bloodshot warm brown eyes. He had light brown hair and a good unblemished, sunkissed face with lean and skinny body.
"Re-Remi."
"I’m Lynx." I said and he sniffled.
I struck up a short conversation with the kid who was sold by his uncle as he was an orphan. He was only fifteen years old and seemed like he had had a tragic life already.
Poor thing.
I shared my own sob story with him making him feel sorry for me and we sat together.
"I-If only I... could get some more money then, Father wouldn’t have sold me here!" I cried.
"Why can’t I be a bit more useful to him?" I sniffled and covered my face with my hands.
"It’s all right, Lynx. We can just hope to be picked by a good Master." Remi patted my back and I wailed making his tears start to flow as well.
Someone give me a damn Oscar!
